Halo 5: Guardians A Hero Reborn Vidoc

Big Capture dump incoming :D

Bruh. Dat sky box. :3

All levels have been designed for four human players and are often much more vertical than prior episodes. This has profound implications for replayability for single and co-op play through.

So the jetpacks are actually inspiring level design changes unlike CoD:AW where it felt almost entirely tacked on. I can live with that. :)

Damn, that was great. I usually play the campaigns cooperatively, but I'm gonna have to try it solo and test out the squad mechanics, seems like they're really focusing on the team aspect in this game.

That's the sort of thing I really dislike with 343. Let me do the cool stuff. First person instead of cutscenes doesn't make it anymore playable, just annoying because I don't do it. Same with dramatic jumps or sky diving, give me control. It might look cool but if I'm not in control, completely pointless and boring. I don't mind a transition but when it's action, don't do it.

I actually prefer this over seeing the bad ass actions played out in 3rd person...
In the case of this clip, I think it would be more awesome if the dropping of the sword was scripted, and it was up to the user to catch it while it's in the air, and then use it (or not use it)... But I'd prefer this way over a straight cutscene...

Not really. When you're in a situation where you are building an engine and infrastructure to support a minimum of two projects you need to plan ahead.

If anything it's being honest about the reality of building a game in a franchise context where the sequel is happening in 2017 and they need to prepare for that when building the 2015 release.

No, I absolutely get the reasoning behind it. Just comes off a little strange in a marketing piece for the current game.

I think graphics look really nice.

Love the look of this and the level design.

What is the hyperspace sprint look all about, looks a bit off, is it hud light movement or something and a visual aide for players that they are sprinting? Don't think you need it. Get rid of the visual clutter.

Could be wrong but I believe you have some control over some of those moments. Like the part in the E3 demo where Locke is hanging off the edge you can either look down or climb back up faster.

This Halo looks really good and bring finally what the franchise needed since Halo 3; first keep this Halo feeling, add new exciting stuff (IA, squad, large scale battles and Spartans abilities, huge weapons sandbox) I am not at all worried for Halo and the next one, really the vidoc was really awesome!

"Halo 4 was a ridiculous challenge because it was a studio coming together for the first time in a new environment, so we are sorry for fucking up a bit."

"Halo 5 is a ridiculous challenge because of the hardware changes, new engine and move to 60 FPS/AI systems/dedicated servers, so we are sorry for fucking up a bit in advance."

"Halo 6 though.. that one is gonna be dope, I promise."

What you here for?

Wait until the game is out before judging Halo 5..... and 6.

Are the abilities shared across both teams in the story or can someone like Buck for example not blast through walls and such because he's not a proper Spartan?

You know how to push the hype meters to max don't you?

Seriously though, sounds awesome. More of this and less of the falling off the ledge and looking at an explosion cutscene interrupting gameplay and we are square.

Looks like a high quality product.

Not sold on the story stuff, but the squad mechanics look solid.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Bluntly everyone has the same physical abilities for consistency and to avoid quitting, but OSiris team has the Artemis scanning/detective aspect and ability while blue team doesn't

That's what I thought about Halo 4... I'm very excited but I won't be as disappointed as I was with Halo 4 if things don't work out how I expected.

Spartan IVs are regular joes turned into Spartans, with the new armor they are on par with Gen I armor Spartan IIs.

Without armor a IV would get demolished by a Spartan II.

Think Captain America but without going from a skinny dude to a giant guy.

The Spartan IV's (Osiris team) are a new breed, they aren't stolen as children and crazy modified like the Spartan II's. They still have enhancements done to them and awesome gear, etc. but the point of the new Spartan's are there can be more of them, but they are still super soldiers.

Is the blue team got something special as ability that the Osiris team do not have? As Spartan II I believe it could be nice that the blue team got also a unique feature.

Did they confirm Halo 6 is 2017? I remember Phil Spencer saying Halo normally takes 3 years so I thought they were going back to that cycle.

Has tonnes of potential, but there's there's definitely lots of things I'm apprehensive about (graphics, level design, extent of sandboxy gaemplay, IQ, frame rate, how well the AI focus and orders system will lend to the gameplay etc, but it doesn't actually matter if all these things aren't entirely polished). I do actually really like some of the art, especially with some of the canyons and space stations shown. And the new characters look cool. Side note, a lot of the campaign snippets funnily enough remind me of Destiny gameplay, as if playing as a Titan (titan smash, dash, boost etc). Even though Bungie went a separate path, it seems inadvertently some of the same design philosophy and DNA remains.

Their unique feature is that they are the greatest combat asset mankind ever created. Johnny Cash isn't scared of Skrillex.
