Halo DS first and last(?) media

DKnight, it's like you missed the entire thread.

The developer of Goldeneye DS used the same engine to create a proof-of-concept demo from Microsoft.
Uhh yeah, sorry about that :lol

Come the fuck on, dude. That's like saying GRAW isn't a real game because it runs on the Unreal engine, or that GTA is a total rip-off of Burnout because they both use Criterion's Renderware.
That's not my argument at all...

This demo used an old engine and still had borrowed code and assets left in the unfinished prototype, but just the fact that it was a completely recreated level shows that a lot of work went into it. This wasn't just a fan's pallet swap. Plus, somebody got paid to make this demo, and were expecting to get paid a lot more if they ever got to complete it.
I'm sure a lot of work went into that Halo RPG. I hear the guy got paid in Skittles and was thoroughly expecting more Skittles until Microsoft told him to fuck off. Oh who am I kidding? It was *me* who made the demo for that screen and damn those Skittles were nice.

That makes it way way different from some fan hack. If talks had gone the right way, this game could have made it out.
And Halo RPG could have been made too... :(

Look seriously, anyone can make a product pitch. Rare could pitch a Ratchet and Clank DS game to Sony, with a nice little demo... but that doesn't mean that Rare made "Ratchet and Clank DS".

MPH was far uglier than this. Both in screens and video.

So from what I can tell, n-Space pitched the idea of Halo DS to Bungie by reskinning their Goldeneye DS engine, Bungie said GTFO, Matt got wind of it and all this hilarity ensues.

Good times.

I believe I confirmed this about twenty years ago, but nobody cared. Others have pitched other ideas too. Just because something is pitched, doesn't mean it's a real game. The pitch exists. The proof of concept. The game does not.

And nobody said, "GTFO." They said, thanks but no thanks.

So what you're saying is, the game has nearly gone gold.

It has broken all entertainment records evar and is larger than Spidermans 1, 2 & 3 combined.

as far as i know, spiderman didn't cost $34.99 to go see, what a lame comparison. :| :| :|

That's because Bungie is making Halo DS in-house, right?

MPH looks 10x better then this game. Its early though and I doubt that if Bungie made the game it would go out looking like any less better then MPH.

Its a shame the game won't be made..Microsoft would make a shitload of more money.

BUNGIE CONFIRMS HALO DS NOT FAKE

Kotaku: The whole Halo on the DS rumor just doesn't want to die, do you see that in the cards?

Brian Jarrard: This rumor has been circulating for a while and as you know we even saw some real life screens and assets this week. Ultimately it's up to Microsoft to decide if and when they take Halo to a different platform. That particular demo was in fact created and I believe it was an unsolicited pitch a long time ago but nothing ever came of it.

So Bungie Microsoft doesnt want Free Money.

Halo Ds=Free Money.

fixed

but it could also end up being a scenario like halo wars where microsoft shuts down independent projects in lieu of their own.
