What's funny is that you show us that Major Nelson list that gives NO hard numbers at all and expect that to convince us that the population for Halo 4 is awesome.

We have absolutely no figures from that. For all we know the numbers could be
BLOPS2: 100000000
Halo 4: 100
ACIII: 10
BL2: 5
Reach: 2

Obviously this isn't the case, but your list is pretty much irrelevant for comparison to prior Halo games.

1. Here is a simplified version of just statistics from Peak population Halo Charts. Peak population average of say 100K that rotates say 75% every 1 hour of play over a 24 hour cycle being one day of play. That equates to approx. 1.75 million unique players per day in War games alone.

2. Let's say there is only 50% rotation per hour in the above example, as I truly have no idea what the peak unique users are, no source does except 343i or XBL. That would approx. equal 1.2 million unique players per day in War Games alone.

3. Major Nelson is derived a from XBL unique users, it's actually the only universal number across multiple game titles out there. If you want a conspiracy cover up about Halo 4 population being #2 go right ahead and wave that flag for yourself.

4. I have never commented about the actual numbers of Halo population, just the Halo Charts ones are the incorrect statistics to look at. Don't put words into my mouth.

5. The Halo 3 statistics are to highlight the nostalgia affect of a game you liked. It also highlights the game you don't like with Halo 4 isn't dying as you word it.

I'm not going as far as he is, but you can't assume this is the only reason. That's basically projecting your feeling onto the masses.

EDIT: Holy shit your name. Bravo. I like it.
I'm just saying the population indicates that people are not enjoying the game with it's big drop. Also, thanks.

The world isn't ending, the Mayan's conceptualization for the future ended today.

We are truly living in 2012.

However, there will be a big shooting somewhere tomorrow.

The world's not going to end, but I'm expecting some sort of related tragedy tomorrow (as terrible as that sounds) as well. Some act of terrorism, someone's going to shoot up somewhere, mass suicide in some random foreign country, etc. It's going to be terrible, but I can't help but feel like it's inevitable.

Couple parents I know are keeping their kids home from school tomorrow. Kinda drastic, but I don't blame them.

Bolded the lols.
I haven't said Halo is dying

Ugh. There are no actual numbers so for all we know Halo 4 could be just above ACIII or just below BLOPS 2. We don't know! The list doesn't give us much at all to work with.

I'm going to stop here because I can tell this won't go anywhere. Feel free to spread the good news of Halo 4's cash pile though! The world needs to know!

I'm in agreement with you about actual numbers not being provided to us. I even poked fun at Frankie if he cared to disclose the unique users per day or games played per day for Halo 4 :)

Overall I see no reason to be pessimistic about Halo 4 population and I'm an optimist by nature so I lean to the positive side more. With so much negativity I feel it my duty as Halo fan to present facts against the negative opinions regarding population.

After the Heckfu crap last night and the resulting flood of lurker support PM's I received regarding that I continue to hold fast with my opinions and factual research here. Prove me wrong and I'm the first to admit it and congratulate you.

From a neutral perspective, it's cheating if you bring up that one victory every time you face adversity and act like it makes your opinion universally-accepted, though.

Regarding Halo 4 online population, I can just turn on my Xbox and look at the count. I don't even need Halocharts.
Too simplified. You're not knowing from this hour to the next how many are unique players or how many games those players partake in over the course of a day. How many return for multiple session on the same day? You also miss SPOPS, campaign, coop, customs numbers as well etc.

Another words same shit I posted above.

The only reaction I have to a few posters around the Heckfu deal is...what just happened and why me :) We were in a battle? Should have started posting GIFs.

My favorite part of last night is that nothing ended up happening. Thanks for all the PMs from regulars here supporting me...which is zero.

Not because they do or don't support me, but because it's lame to get involved in something as trivial as that and then telling me to enjoy my ban.

But please, on behalf of my ego PLEASE post those PMs, I think it would be the right amount of humor to turn this place around!

Sure more unique users login everyday but if these are the peak #'s it means the game has low average length of gameplay and is not retaining players
Exactly. Unique users is important in how much people are playing the entirety of the game (like campaign and stuff), but peak population is definitely the most important number when looking at the health of multiplayer.

Ozzy I literally already explained this to you.

The small variance is Halocharts and Waypoint update at diferent intervals, Waypoint more frequently I believe.

Anyways yes Unique Users are logging in. However they arent staying on. Thats because the experience is so miserable they sign off. Also notice these are peak hours look at the hourly population and you realize the majority of hours Halo 4 is below 90k users. YES THE MAJORITY of time. Lol

Cater to the fans! The casuals might stay if you make the game good!

Because I have life unlike you nerds and don't feel like reading the thread, can some explain to me the PM situation?

Heckfu was a bully which hurt Ozzys feeling so lurkers PMd him assuring that everything would be ok and he is the smartest so that whenever he wants to prove points he just has to say PM and he wins.

I missed out what happened last night, but I doubt a bunch of lurkers sent PMs. They can't even say thanks for redeeming shit, but they are going to send support?

POST THE PM'S OZZY IM CALLING YOU OUT ON YOUR SHIT
He's making new accounts.

Moral of the story:

Heckfu shouldn't post while drunk, and Ozzy shouldn't defend an opinion that is factually wrong
wtf is this he said she said shit. really?

This is all I can say about the population debate:
I went on Halo 4 and there were about 120k players on.
I went on COD BO2 and there were about 650k players on.

I don't blame them for chasing that COD market, but damn they definitely didn't steal it.
