I went to Burger King and got a soda. On the side is a game piece that is asking me to scratch off one of the crests which I'm assuming are for Jacob and Edward. Since Jacob is clearly superior I want to scratch him. So which is it!?

Edward is waaaay better. Team Edward!

It's really strange how the Burger King commercials that promote the movie kinda make fun of the series and its fans in a backhanded way.

There is another one where fans are asking BK customers which team they are on, can't seem to find that one.

This man is obviously a homosexual fast food burger lover.

The fact that he's swooning over a man at a Burger King should be a surprise to nobody.

what is happening to this forum

It boggles my mind that this forum has a hatred for twilight (which isn't that bad) yet the vast majority of posters are smitten with Lady Gaga.

Sensationlist mob mentality. Everything is to an extreme with little middle ground from most of what I see, unfortunately.

Not to mention a hard on for stuff like Scott Pilgrim vs The World, its the same shit but at the opposite side of the spectrum.

I think Burger King is performing a scientific poll to find out if Americans are more prone to being Furries or Necrophiliacs.

I agree, went to see that new movie today and since I havent seen the other ones my friend gave me a quick rundown on them, I really did not found anything that I didnt expected, cheesy teen love, teen angst and that was it, nothing spectacularly disgusting although I do agree that it had a lot of lulz worthy moments

The last book is supposed to be batshit insane hilarious.

And aside from that, there's the "oh so dreamy" sparkly vampires, the complete blank slate "I'm so perfect and yet SUCH A KLUTZ and no guy will ever love me except for the most perfect man ever" Mary Sue protagonist, and the fact that "romance" apparently involves being completely creepy and either a stalker or a pedophile. Or both. Can't forget Vampire Baseball.

The Rifftrax of the first Twilight movie is amazing. The 10 minute clip on Youtube of some of the highlights from it are pretty incredible (and the only bit of Twilight I've actually physically watched in some form). The "lyrics" to Edward's song in particular are just great.

I don't know. If this is supposed to be this generation's great fairy tale love story....yeeeeesh.

The last book is completely insane. It's actually worth a read just to see how insane it is. It's easy to get through and wont take you long. The rest of the books were poorly written and laughable at times, the edward character comes across as psychotically controlling and emotional and mentally abusive (which cracks me up since he's held up as a dream guy by so many girls). But it was at the very least, not too insane and somewhat entertaining in a "eh i'll just watch this stupid soap opera because nothing else is on" kind of way.
The final book seems like it was written by a 13 year old girl writing fan fiction. It's just so stupid it hurts and amuses at the same time.

Don't worry, I'm also no fan of either. I personally don't have a problem with Twilight. I've seen both films with a friend for the lulz (I suggested that she rent it just to see what women were going stir crazy over), and found them both to be incomprehensibly bad films. The acting and plot in the first was incredibly bad, but it made it somewhat enjoyable in a - it's so terrible it's downright hilarious - way. The second film treated its subject material with such a deathly serious, mawkish tone that it was impossible to watch without vigorously shaking your head. I suppose the thing that bothers me is the fans' blind reverence towards the series and its incredibly insipid and superficial view of "love", the creepy twi-moms fawning over jailbait abs, and the fact that, unlike Harry Potter, this tween series has few redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Edit: However, I simply loved how the film paid homage to America's favorite pastime's love affair with the vampire genre. The vampire baseball scene in Twilight is right up there with Bela Lugosi's delivery of a knuckleball to homeplate in the original Dracula and the pickle involving Eli and Oscar in Let the Right One In.

I couldn't tell which was which, so I scratched off the smaller one (found out it was Edward's)... missed out on my free Whopper because of it.
