Yes there are plenty of Madden threads but I wanted to wish all the Madden fans a Happy Maddenoliday.

It has become a real holiday in my life over the past few years. There is a day in each season of the year that brings back memories and helps me realize what time of the year it is. Christmas I think of family, snow and good times. Halloween is the true start of winter in Calgary, Canada. I can't really remember a Halloween when it didn't snow. Easter is usually our first nice warm time in spring and everyone does something outdoors and spends a long weekend with family. And Maddenoliday lets me know the summer is coming to a close, football season starts soon, the leaves will start to turn and I will be spending more time yelling at my tv while I lose another close game to Matrix in our Madden leagues.

This has been the major gaming highlight of my year since madden 04. I kind of wish I didn't get into APF so hard because now I feel really behind in the madden swing of things! But man its nice to see some Madden props

Meh, I'll be able to get the game in 4 hours during my lunch break. Then I get to wait 4 more hours + time in traffic to be able to play. Today will be a long day :(

I did this several times last year just to be funny and came across someone that knew what I meant and wished me one back. That was awesome.

Sadly, I'll probably have to wait even longer. I have to take care of my 1 yr old son while my wife is at work. It's going to be really painful having madden and my 360 in the same room and not be able to play it until my son goes to sleep. :(

That is part of the Madden holiday season. The coverstar getting injured is as traditional to the holiday as mistletoe at Christmas.

This is the first year in about 5 that I haven't participated. The fact my 360 gave me the red ring 2 weeks ago has kept me from the land of Madden-Mania. But seemingly I am getting so caught up in the season, I will be buying an Elite so I can join my Madden brothers in celebration!!!!

Pretty sure he's buying the definitive next-gen Madden 08 experience.
 
I'm happy to report that despite ignoring MULTIPLE WARNINGS from GameStop clerks that I won't be able to find Madden if I didn't pre-order it from them, I was able to find one of the last 1500 copies at the first store I went to. Tragedy averted.
 
I didn't feel like going to work, but realized what game release is more important for me? I'll probably stay home when NHL08 gets released and same for Mercenaries 2/Virtua Fighter 5 as well. The rest of the titles are big, but they are not my favorites as the ones listed above.

Haha, there are quite a few gamers here at my work so they all know what today is. I take comfort in the fact that they're gonna have to wait as long as me to play the game:lol

Maddenoliday does not discriminate by platform. It is a holiday for all who wish to celebrate it. :D

QFT. I just this morning decided that buying Madden would simply take money and time away from the awe-inspiring glory of Bioshock. I still wish Madden the best, though. It sounds like EA finally came through on the new systems this year.

They got me one year with that crap. "We will only sell to the people who have pre-orders at midnight!!!!"

Bullshit, they were selling to everyone at midnight.

I don't preorder anymore, it's just marketing gimmick BS just to force you back into their store. My ass went right to CC this morning, got a copy with no problem.

It's not about excitement, it's not about JUST a game. It's about celebrating a certain time of year. It's about all the memories coming back. It's about what brings a lot of us together (and later it's about what will break us apart as we all start to hate each other due to our competitive nature).

Hmm, eventhough Madden is said to be best of the EA sport updatetons, rest of the world (thats outside USA) is would take Escapefrombugislandoliday over maddenoliday

Can't enjoy shit as I too worried about the framerate to actually purchase the game. IGN says it's a mess, GS says it isn't too bad, random people say it's not even close to stable like NCAA 08.

My excitement turned to confusion - confusion turned to anger.

FUCK Maddenoliday, as it's everything but happy right now.

EDIT: Necessary :D to let everyone know I'm a good sport.
 
While i can't get aboard the Madden train due to a personal hate of the series and EA...I can get on the videogame love train so enjoy the holiday and kick some ass with Jason Campbell for me!
