As a Genesis owner, I loved the SSW trilogy back in the day and was hugely jealous that SNES got them all and we were left with Game Gear ports of SW and SROTJ.

There are cheat codes for the entire trilogy so you should jump back into Empire and beat Vader's ass.

I guess I could use passwords too, if they give you the Jedi powers in the later stages.
But to be honest, my run through the game has been enough. I was really committed to beating Vader without powers and cheats, but I almost got blisters on my thumbs and the closest I got to beating him I still probably needed to get in around 40 more hits. His health bar is insane. I swear, the final boss in any Souls game gives you much more room for mistakes. And the game still kinda sucks, even if the graphics are really good.

All three games I found to be hard as balls. Even on Easy you can get your ass kicked by enemies, the environment or the crappy platforming.

For those who haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend watching Maul-Shadow lord, the concluding episodes released today for season 1, season 2 is on its way, but it is a no-brainer that LucasArts/Lucasfilm games should have done a Maul game in the vein of Force-Unleashed.....and to this day it was a massive oversight they never did a point and click adventure set in the Star Wars Universe akin to Fate of Atlantis, they could have mixed things up with sections in that game lifted out of Tie-Fighter, or inspired by it..

Hell if they did go for an Star Wars Outlaws 2, having Maul in that would have been awesome as well! Or even a DLC for the first game..

I was watching New Hope yesterday with my son. He hasn't seen it for a few years and was probably too little back then to really appreciate it.

Anyways, he loved it and going to watch Empire Strikes Back today. Best Star Wars movie of course.

It was, but I've seen all the original trilogy too many times now over the decades, add to that how Disney destroyed the original actor characters of Luke, Leia and Solo in my mind with their non Lucas trilogy, I'd watch Rot Sith's Shakespearean styled tragedy as my preference of the Lucas 6 films, today as the best SW film.

I'd also argue if you haven't seen the final scenes of the Clone wars series you can't fully appreciate the context of Empire's opening to its fullest - that was always in the film just never in the audience's mind.

Stuff from the old expanded Universe was never really canon. Lucas even called it the licensing world

They don't intrude on my world, which is a select period of time, [but] they do intrude in between the movies. I don't get too involved in the parallel universe."

He never approved any game, comic or game story. The only thing he considered Canon were his 6 films and The Clone Wars

If he would have made 7 - 9 then lots of stuff from the EU would have been erased from the Canon anyways because he had very different ideas and actually hated some EU stuff like Mara Jade.

erasing the sequels from canon is the only way forward. to many they are already seen as not canon anyway

the best thing they could do is adapt Kyle Katarn as the new main character.
he is a beloved character, is already set after the original trilogy, he can meet Luke for fan service (played maybe by the guy who played him in the TV show, but without the deepfake, as he already looks close enough anyway), and they basically get a jedi and a han solo type character in one!
