You can't say blanketly that Sony is "against" it full stop for all we know cross play may be a W10 only feature which would defeat the purpose altogether, iirc there was a game on W10 and Steam that didn't let them play with each other and the number of people who played online with the W10 version was not only segregated but in the double digits.

There goes the PC community. Drive-by for one month then back to counter strike
You are aware that people cheat on console right? Like all the time and in the case of SFV its probably just as much as PC.So you never played against PC players lol
The first thing they do is alt+tab before match... so you become lagged while they plays fine.
PC player in my online play = turn off PC cross-play option please. That is the easy... there a lot of more cheaters and hackers in SFV.
Cross-play is something I always supported... until see how it works against PC players. Today I prefer my console bubble.
if sony isn't against it, why haven't we heard any updates on it? last year there was the big reveal where mS said they're finally all for it, then there's silence from sony's camp. so what's the holdup?Yes but you are wrong. Sony isn't against it. There's multiple games that prove that. It is Microsoft that is against it and it seems like there's multiple games that could have been on xbox one but they are not allowing it.

You've heard one comment from Microsoft but no proof especially when games like ffxiv are not on the Xbox because of Microsoft.if sony isn't against it, why haven't we heard any updates on it? last year there was the big reveal where mS said they're finally all for it, then there's silence from sony's camp. so what's the holdup?
there's plenty of reason to believe Microsoft is the issue. It's clearly not a requirement for the game to be Win10, as Rocket League isn't.
Requiring crossplay be optional is a policy that will rule out some games (such as FFXIV), but otherwise there's little reason to assume MS is the issue here, and plenty of reasons to believe Sony is.

"Right now, we're literally at the point where all we need is the go-ahead on the Sony side and we can, in less than a business day, turn [cross-platform play] on and have it up and working, no problem," Jeremy Dunham, vice president of Rocket League developer Psyonix told IGNYes but you are wrong. I'm aware that after turn PC off I didn't have more cheaters issues...You are aware that people cheat on console right? Like all the time and in the case of SFV its probably just as much as PC.
Not allowing any of the mmos, historical being against cross play.so yes I don't believe Microsoft when there actions have been the opposite of what they say.Sony have plenty of crossplay games between PS4+PC. That isn't any reason to believe they would allow crossplay with Xbox. MS has explicitly stated they would allow crossplay with PlayStation.
What's the plenty of reasons (that aren't outdated ones from last gen) to believe MS is the issue as of today?
I saw that previously but that goes against things sony has done in the past with cross platform play."Right now, we're literally at the point where all we need is the go-ahead on the Sony side and we can, in less than a business day, turn [cross-platform play] on and have it up and working, no problem," Jeremy Dunham, vice president of Rocket League developer Psyonix told IGN

Sony has never done anything to show they support cross platforms. Show me these past receipts. Not allowing any of the mmos, historical being against cross play.so yes I don't believe Microsoft when there actions have been the opposite of what they say.

This sucks and isn't a good look for online scenario for marvel vs Capcom infinite
But hopefully that has cross play
Yeah hopefully at least ps4/PC cross play. Honestly though I'd understand why Sony wouldn't be interested in the prospect of cross play with xboxSfv does so hopefully MvC does too

i think that's exactly why harada doesn't want to do itwould be strange and i wonder if microsoft would object to ps4 having cross play exclusivity. of course if they're able to do both xbox/pc and ps4/pc it kinda makes the tekken situation look bad.

How is Sony the issue in this situation? If MS is the hero we deserve then why isn't there PC/X1 cross play for this game?
You gentlemen do know that alt+tabbing from a game is something everyone and their mother does on PC. It's called multi-tasking. I'm pretty sure the majority of the people who alt tab are just browsing online. They aren't pricks. The game is just busted.
Then I guess the majority of PS4 players with full bars must be lag switching because you guys are teleporting all over the place when I play against you. Same thing happens when I play on my buddy's PS4. The online play just sucks for this game. I live in SoCal too so it shouldn't be that much of an issue to get players with great connections.
ffs14 is an old game though it doesn't make sense to make an xbone port for it now. if SE were to come out with another mmorpg that's supposed to be crossplay i'm sure mS would be on baord this time around. You've heard one comment from Microsoft but no proof especially when games like ffxiv are not on the Xbox because of Microsoft.

it pretty much was but that won't stop people from wanting itI thought no cross play was confirmed before?
Gonna single-handedly represent the PC community, come at me
The only thing that is fixed is the dithering and the picture quality is better, but not by much.
THERE ARE some post processing effects that the PC has that the PS4 doesn't and it looks pretty damn good in motion, but it's not good for screenshots.
Now Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator is a different case. The IQ enhances the games graphical fidelity by a huge amount.

Just how many Games are sever Based on console these days ?
Sony allows it though, the question is would MS allow cross play on Steam, which would be politics on MS's half as well.
would a fighting game need to be server based? Any examples?
More than cross play/cross platform I'm surprised people aren't making noise about P2P servers when they are paying more for games on console.
