Harrison: Xbox One has best launch line-up 'in console history'

Did not know that about Titanfall. Thanks guys. :) GAF is where the knowledge is at.

All my friends & coworkers are pressuring me into picking up Xbone. The pressure!

Let's put it plainly: will PlayStation owners ever see Titanfall?

"It's definitely not out of the question," Emslie replied. "We have a huge appreciation for the fans. Coming out and showing it to everybody, we're super nervous and wanted to make sure everybody loved it. We love all our fans, whatever console they support.

"So yeah. We want to make everybody happy, but this is where we're at right now."

That's an awesome picture. You're lucky to have that.

Silly to say that with the majority of them being on PS4 and PC.

What we got in terms of exclusives at launch.

XB1
  • Ryse
  • Forza 5
  • Dead Rising 3
  • Killer Instinct

PS4

  • Killzone Shadowfall
  • DriveClub
  • Knack

Only 2 we can compare is the driving titles. Console history I don't know can't remember past launch games.

I'd think a game from the Panzer Dragoon creator would be getting more props around here.

Crimson Dragon is a pretty big exclusive for the Xbox One.

XB1 has 23 titles at N. American launch. Dreamcast had 19. NES had 18. PS1 had 14. Gamecube had 13. Xbox had 16. 360 had 18. PS3 had 14. Wii had 21.

PS2 had 27.

A goofy statement by any metric.

I agree. Honestly, the PS4 and the Xbox One both have incredible launch line-ups, especially if you are a fan of the first person shooter.

I would have them at 1a and 1b of all time.

And there's the rub for me. LOL

But I'm happy for you guys who are excited.

I will say this... taking into account the multi-plats, X1 has the largest number of interesting games for me for a console launch I have participated in. Though I did miss the Dreamcast.

Most of what makes this launch line-up so good are the third party games, that will also come out for the ps4. Err so no, it belongs to both consoles. The only really good thing to come out exclusively for x1 seems to be Crimson dragon. Ryse looks like a pile of dung.

I don't think by "best" he means numbers, he means quality wise and exclusive wise.

MS have clearly lost the plot going on so much about FIFA, it's big........... but the casual players will be playing on PS3/360, while those going next-gen will be well aware a PS4 + FIFA is cheaper than an Xbox One bundle.

What worries me about MS, is they front load their consoles with hardcore titles, but so much is bought in content, and I struggle to see were the consistent half dozen or so AAA, first party, games are coming from each year, for the life of the console.

I would have to agree the launch lineup is great, still not enough to overcome my displeasure with the direction MS chose to go with the hardware.

Yah - go back and look at the launch lists. It kills 360 and Ps3.

The launch list for BOTH X1 and PS4 are larger and deeper than any other launch. Remember some of you are comparing it to Dreamcast - but Dreamcast's true launch was in Japan with a handful of games. The U.S. and E.U. launches were a full year later and thus had more games. True of many of the consoles over the years.

Harrison may have a point, if you find the X1 initial offerings more to your liking than the PS4 first batch.

And again, it is HIS opinion. And what else is he going to say.

Yes, It's a pretty strong launch-line up. (although not the best in console history) Microsoft practically stopped supporting their current console and now we know why. It's like they have been focusing on making a good launch line-up for Xbox One this whole time.

Smart decision if you can afford it.

Think if the PS4 was launching with the Last of Us.

I know he's doing his job but that quote is so stupid and what makes it worse is I see people on Gaf who actually believe that the X1 lineup is amazing. It's not and neither is the PS4 lineup.

Where are the big standout exclusive titles? Where is the creativity?

Nintendo 64 had Super Mario 64 and Pilotwings 64 at launch, while that may seem incredibly skimpy those games are legendary and SM64 alone is a masterpiece and one of the greatest games ever made

Dreamcast had a phenomenal lineup as well it had a better than arcade port of Soul Calibur, a new stand out Sonic game, and high profile games covering every genre from sports to air combat (Airforce Delta), fighting games (Power Stone, MK Gold, Soul Calibur), etc.

Gamecube had Rogue Squadron, Wave Race, and Smash Bros Melee within the launch window

Vita had Uncharted, Wipeout 2048, and a few other great games at launch

Sad truth is he is probably right, although anything really potentially great is also available on PS4 and PC.

And even then, it's still not very good.

Would be a different world if they had Titanfall and Kinect Sports Rivals ready in time.

Sony's lineup is better.

Other than DR3, there is nothing interesting to me in MS's lineup.

I would agree with this. I'm not a big Dead Rising fan either (I enjoyed the first one a lot, at least), but it would be a good game to pick up. I wouldn't mind Killer Instinct too, but then I saw the details about the character list and the model they are going for and lost interest.

I think the X1 lineup is strong certainly, but no where close to the best.
