Has a controllers vibration ever piss you off?

Never really have a problem with it, and don't notice it actually, except with mass effect 3, when you're in those mechs, I think it would keep vibrating consistently when getting shot or opening fire, don't remember, but it was pretty annoying.

Playing a game using KB/M on PC and having my Xbox 360 controller start rumbling has both annoyed and scared me. I think Borderlands 2 was the last game I played that did this.

Mostly been said but Wii U Gamepad is just... just awful.

I don't think I've enjoyed rumble since the initial enamored period on N64, after which it was mostly just annoying.

The Wii U GamePad "rumble" is dreadful. It's extremely loud and annoying. It's the only thing I don't like about the controller.
This.

I love rumble, but the WiiU gamepad it's a big mess. I hate it on the gamepad. Tried it once while playing CoD and I just wanted to smash the controller.

Used google to find out how to disable rumble on the gamepad.

I'll turn it off in shooters (specifically multiplayer shooters) because it annoys me enough to the point where I think it might slightly affect my aim. I feel like i aim better without vibration. For single player games and games in other genres though, it doesn't really bother me.

Not really no. I still can't get used to the xbox one trigger vibration so I guess that's a bit annoying.
My buddy is the same, he immediately turned of trigger vibration in Halo MCC. I thought it was alright, not a great addition, but alright.

Far Cry 4. The prison section. Apparently the only way to let us know a deadly
demon
was nearby was to set rumble to 11 and induce Hand-arm Vibration Syndrome in the user.

It may be a idea console manufacturers want to look in to, to introduce a rumble intensity setting instead of just having a basic off/on option.

I have a xbone controller attached to my PC, and whenever I boot up my PC the controller rumbles for about two seconds. It has scared the shit out of me multiple times.

I feel like Destiny was going to give me carpal tunnel.

Honestly, controller vibration is more often than not a detriment than a positive. Bullshit gimmick.

+1 for the Wii U Gamepad here! Generally, if Nintendo deficated on a plate and handed it to me I'd love it, but the rumble in the Gamepad really grinds my gears!

Nope, I love it. Just this morning I was marvelling at how the different road surfaces in Driveclub each had their own different and distinctive vibration patterns. Great stuff.

Yup, pretty much this. Seems like it has no control at all and everything is earthquake like. Hasn't been on turned for 2 years.

I'm glad everyone else has said this, I honestly thought mine was broken. And now I know its not holy shit Nintendo what on Earth are you doing?!?

Controller vibration is fine if it's used sparingly and with low intensity.

When it's used frequently and/or with high intensity, my hands starting hurting and then they go numb... then I usually say 'fuck this' and turn it off.

I don't think I've ever been annoyed by controller vibration on a console or PC game. I remember saving up allowance for Star Fox just to have the rumble pack, and keeping it in the N64 controller just for the weight. If anything I'm impressed by the feedback, it adds a small but meaningful sensation to games. I only turn it off on phone games where the vibration is noisy and affects the image.

Only used it with the first PSX when they released it, Dual Shock i mean, played with it about an hour , showed to some friends, never ever used it again in any of my consoles, thats gonna be like 17 years now. Short answer i hate it.

I guess you can call it gimmicky, but I kind of enjoy it. It's easy to forget it about though. My DS3 would always get low on battery or die and the rumble would get turned off. I'd charge it and I could go days without realizing I never turned rumble back on. Right now I can't even recall whether or not I have rumble on with the DS4, even though I played it earlier.

It's never annoyed me, though. I do jump if I'm playing GTA and set the controller down on my desk and start browsing the web, then a phone call or thunderstorm comes and the controller starts to rumble. But that's about it.

Was terribly annoyed with it in Borlderlands 2 - but only with one weapon.

Moxxi's Good Touch a weapon that vibrates constantly and the rumble gets stronger and stronger the less you fire while having it equipped.

why would you even use that, it was always weaker than your current guns and was a joke weapon. it would be more useful as a masturbating tool, hence the name.

It's actually quite usefull in the beginning when you're playing solo - yes there are people that do this - because it has 70% crit damage which is a nice boost compared to most other weapons you might have at the point when you can aqquire this gun.

The only time I've ever felt the need to disable vibration was when playing Borderlands 2 with friends. It felt like it would never stop vibrating.

This thread makes me realise I've stopped even noticing rumble. I should probably turn it off to save battery.

I hate rumble during cutscenes as I will put the controller down during long ones and then out of nowhere I'll be surprised by a loud racket as its started vibrating against the desk.

The only vibrate I've ever turned off is the Wii U gamepad, that thing has some truly terrible vibration. It feels like a phone vibrating, is noisy, and adds nothing to the experience.
Same here. I don't mind it otherwise, it's not important but just a little detail that makes the games feel slighty better if implemented well.

I normally like rumble and never have problems.....but W101 rumble is ridiculous.

Only game where i have hated it.

I'm wondering if this thread just gathered all the rumble haters or that this is a widespread opinion. Personally I love me some rumble.

Keep it usually off. On for the certain games which use it sparingly.

I also read that constant use of vibrating controllers harms your wrists or something, or maybe I just imagined it. But sometimes I do feel my wrists getting tired for constantly heavy vibration games.

Cmon op dont exaggerate just turn it off......well u cant! What the hell is with that? Someone please go try it and agree with me.

Edit: ok so you can turn off vibration in xbox 360 user settings for all games. I NEVER knew this. Thanks guys.
.

I physically remove rumble nodes in every controller I own.

well i've been using vibrating controllers since MGS1 came out and my wrists are just dandy.

i think you guys are gripping your controllers too tight.
