Has anyone here ever tripped on Salvia?

Weirdest trip of my life. It hits way too quick, and I don't feel the need to do it again. I wrote my experience down years ago after I took it; I'll have to try and find that if I can. As soon as I smoked it I was in some weird,dark universe where everything was moving up and down like blocks, and talking to some weird creature. Was crazy. The being was asking me what I was doing there, and I was like I don't know. Shit was crazy.

I've done shrooms and Ayahuasca, but have no desire to do Salvia again.

Edit: Found my entry from the second time I tried Salvia years ago (can't find my entry from the first time with the weird being):

I lay down on my bed and I don't know what the hell happened. It's like my mind was off somewhere, I felt like I was a kid again, but I was at some carnival or something. Like I was waiting to get in a line and was being ushered along by some people. I kept talking; I never felt alone, but I can't recall whom/what I was talking to. I opened my eyes, surprised that they were not already opened while I was opening them, and the shadows seemed to be like part of the ride or something that I was waiting to get on. God I just can't describe it, almost like I felt the wall or something. I felt so lost, as if I was tumbling in space, and then just lost in the blackness, and I was saying sorry to someone, feeling like I was holding up the line? At the end I was coming back to, I felt like my body was being pulled gently in opposite directions. As if I was just 'flowing' with it, but part of me was holding on. A voice, or voices were calling my name, and saying to come away or come play with them. I remember saying (by thinking), will you be nice, are you safe to go with? At one point I opened my eyes, or maybe I was OBE watching me open my eyes, but I was shocked to see I was in my bed, b/c I swear I was walking somewhere in a line. The order of everything may not be correct, and I def. remember a part where it felt like there were two of me, and one was struggling/fighting to almost crawl up/open my eyes, get back here. I don't know; it's like I was just knocked out and went somewhere, and then came back into my head just like w-t-....f...

yeah this is the trip i mean. dude is totally the anti-posterboy amd the worst thing to have on youtube. 99% of people would never react like this, but certain people in certain conditions might.

like if you have the notion in the back of your mind that a drug might make you jump out of a window. and if you had the notion that a drug might make you do something dramatic. and you also had the notion that you like getting attention. followed by the notion that if you were to jump out of your window, your internet video might get a lot of attention. All of these things, swirling in the back of your mind, while under a salvia state, would converge and your inhibitions against jumping out of a window would also not be there, and next thing you know, you're pretending to have a weird reaction, and then you're safely jumping out of your first floor window.

most people will laugh, have a sweaty tremor feeling, may lose corporeal awareness, have some auditory and visual and spatial hallucinations, some memory warping, like going into an old memory, and then its all over. An that's with concentrated whatever. If you're bringing a whole lot of me-me-me focused crazy into the situation, you may get some of that out of it too. It's not a party drug and its not a "fun high".
 
well ive only tried shrooms but I can safely say psychedelics are not for me
I have heard salvia last a short time though, unlike shrooms which was like 8 hours before i started feeling normal. tbh if it affected my hearing as well as it did my vision I might have gone truly insane

Yeah, it's very quick. It hits you pretty much instantly, and then everything is back to normal in like 10 minutes. If you could say a hallucinogen could be done like a shot of alcohol, then Salvia is that shot.
 
I had some great trips on it then I had a bad one where I ended up curled up on my bed crying. Never did it after that. Make sure you have a "sitter" (aka someone sober). One of my roommates was convinced that he needed to "escape" our apartment by jumping out of the 3rd floor window, so he's glad we were around to tackle him.

Not sure if it made a difference, but I always heard that you needed butane lighters to really extract the chemicals cause they burn hotter. If you're not feeling anything, that could be why.
 
Yes, several times, and they were the most intense trips I have ever had.

One time, I straight-up thought I became a tree. I stumbled off into the woods and merged with a tall evergreen.

I have no interest in doing it again, though. Total loss of ego is kind of a scary thing.
 
Yeah I've done it through a bong. Only did a little bit with my friends and the trip was the scariest I've ever experienced. We couldn't stop laughing non-stop (felt like we were on the Joker's laughing gas) but we all felt incredibly nervous inside.

I remember looking at my friend's smiling face and I freaked out and ran upstairs and then all of a sudden my house looked like a funhouse and I'm looking at my self from a third person's view. I then ran back downstairs to sit down and it felt like my face and hands were melting and wind was blowing out of it.

I immediately threw the bag of leaves out in the trash. I fuck with lsd and shrooms, but salvia never again. Not to mention the aftertaste and smell is the nastiest thing ever.
 
The best way to describe Salvia is the crack of hallucinogens: a really intense but short trip. I smoked it once and only once and holy fuck it was crazy. We got the 10x extract and smoked it out of a 8" bong using a butane/blowtorch type lighter.

We went into my friend's basement (which was dark except for a lone candle) alone, took one MASSIVE hit, clearing the bong and held it in as long as we could. When the trip was over, you repacked the bowl and came up for the next person to go.

The trip itself hit not long after I took the hit and was holding it in. By the time I exhaled the smoke, I was higher than weed had ever gotten me and the couch kept pulling me down into it. It was the weirdest thing, it felt like gravity was 10x stronger and it kept pulling me down to my right. I eventually succumbed and laid on my side and that's when it started talking to me. Something was telepathically talking to me and I could reply with my mind. I kept asking it who it was, and it kept saying "I'm looking right at you." It was the candle. The candle's flame all of a sudden had 4 or 5 of these weird blue tear drop shapes hovering over the orange flame. We had a deep philosophical conversation in my mind (I don't really remember what it was about, but it seemed significant at the time), and slowly the voice faded, the blue tear drops disappeared and gravity returned to normal. The total trip (I timed it on my wristwatch) was approximately 7 minutes, but it felt much longer as time ceases to exist. I felt pretty off the rest of the day, like my mind was REALLY fatigued. I was fine the next day.

It was a really wild experience, but I've never had the desire to do it again because I did not think that weird 'mentally off' feeling for the rest of the day was worth the 7 minute trip, even though it was very intense.

TL;DR: Took a massive bong rip of salvia alone in a basement with only a lit candle and couch. Got sucked into the couch and had a deep telepathic philosophical conversation with said candle who may or may not have been God.
 
Yes. It's the best. Took me to a whole different world. My friends saw me laughing on the ground. What I saw was a wallpaper of human beings and I was trying to find a way out. The other time it was like seeing color vector graphics. Great drug.
 
yep... a few times back in college.

and the first time surprised the fuck out of me.
I got some 20x and figured "this shit can't be legit"... and WHAM! I sank into the couch and Star Trek warped into oblivion for 2 or 3 minutes.......... It was like every part of my body that was touching the couch was stretching out to the end of time.

just as quickly at the hallucination set in, it was gone, and I was back to normal.

crazy shit.
 
Don't do it. It sucks balls and is an intense trip for at least a minute. I tried it years ago when it was sold all over the place in here in South Florida. I literally watched my family room melt and felt like I could see the pages of my life being flipped through. LIKE A FUCKING BOOK BRO.

I smoked it once with 3 friends in a van while listening to The Beatles: Abbey Road. It was a weak effect (maybe because we all smoke week frequently) but we all thought we were experiencing the album. It's difficult to explain but we really just felt like we were "in" the music.

Another time on a double date I smoked it out of a bowl, being told it was just weed. The bitch lied to me. Next thing I know, I was in an empty football field and a football hit the back of my head. I watched myself in slow motion falling. Imagine every part of your body is being threaded like being stitched together layer by layer, and each layer is a moment of your life being revisited. By the time I fell down, the stitching was complete and I was looking at myself back in the room we were in and immediately when I hit the ground I felt a splash of water. I awoke to my friend splashing my face with water, laughing. Apparently I was going through the motions in real life, which to me felt like an entire life, but was really a few minutes. It was surreal.

wanted to try it, and i've had a few chances to do so before, but the people i would be doing it with/around are not people i would trust to keep me safe in the event of a bad trip.
 
Every time I've taken LSD it just distorted my sense of time, and a few auditory hallucinations as the trip progressed. None of this full blown hallucination in Narnia shit.

One day. Maybe Salvia will take me to the Keebler forest.
 
The most incredible, intense and horrifying experience I've ever had was a salvia trip. I was coming down from a big LSD trip when I did it and I don't know how much that affected it.

A brief synopsis:
I inhaled and blacked out for about fifteen seconds. When I came to I was about eight feet from where I hit the bowl. I took a huge breath in and at the peak of my inhale everything shattered (by everything I mean reality. Everything). The next bit is impossible to describe but the best I can do is say I was re-living the last millisecond before shattering over and over. Imagine a VHS tape when you pause it. It has that judder. I experienced that judder at what felt like 100 times a second. It was fucking brutal. I've never felt physical pressure anything like that. I should note that during the experience I was 100% cognizant. It's a common trait among stuff like salvia and DMT. So I of course thought I had died during the beginning. I thought an atom bomb had been dropped near me and this "VHS judder" was what happened to consciousness when your every atom is blasted like that. After a few minutes I was able to "peel" myself off of reality (currently a black void) which caused that experience to immediately stop and move to the next part. At this point my trip turned into a Alejandro Jodorowsky movie with some early Dali thrown in. Pure symbolism and surrealism. Absolutely impossible to explain though I can say it was nothing like this reality. I had no reference point for ANYTHING I was seeing. this went on for multiple segments sort of like how dreams will switch scenes at random. All completely alien. At some point I "realized" life and reality are a joke on a scale I could never truly understand. And then I just came back to reality. Ten minutes overall. That I (or anyone) can come back from that sane is... completely illogical. It just doesn't make sense.

I hope that makes sense. Probably not. And yes, that is a brief version of what happened.
 
It's the only drug that I didn't like. Did it once and it was enough. Felt like I was falling into a hole. My vision narrowed with this sensation. It was terrifying. It was the followed with uncontrollable laughter that made me feel very short of breath. Thankfully it's a very short trip. Too intense though. Never again.
 
I don't believe this. Some of these experiences you all have mentioned can be short horror movies with Lynch and Jodorowsky co-directing. Fuckin' hell.
 
I've never touched the stuff. But some friends came to mine, and had some.
This was quite a while ago. I actually had no idea it was so crazy. Anyway I ddin't want anyone smoking in my house so they go on the roof to smoke (it's, large, flat, and with walls all/barriers all around.)

There were three of them.

Anyway two of them take a hit at the same time and start straight away vegetating and just sitting, slightly dribbling. I started to get worried, but after a minute or two my friend comes around. I ask if he's ok. He responds "Well I know who I am, and I know that you are Openrob and that we are on your roof...But everything is still purple so I think I am still tripping a bit" hahaha

The other guy was standing in the middle of the roof holding on for dear life to a lighting rod as he thought that the builing was tilting and thoughts he was falling off. It took 5 minutes to convincing to get inside, which he only done by crawling back to the window. So jokes haha

What about the other guy, he actually wasn't going to hang around but they convinced him to try it before he left. He was the first to hit it. He smoked, waited a minute. Then said "What is this, tastes like shit - anyway guys, I'm off" Got his stuff together and left, didn't affect him in the slightest,

The last time I did salvia this happened, but with cigarettes. I was drunk and my friends brought it out. I took the pipe and smoked it, and soon after started feeling it. Everything was lined with cigarettes. I thought my whole life was a lie, that my friends where payed by a tobacco company to "groom" me a certain way to get a specific type of tobacco (like raising a Kobe beef cow). My friends where going to go outside and smoke, so when I saw them they where lined with cigarettes and they looked like they where animated like a cartoon, and 2 of them stuck cigs in their mouths just staring at me. I then felt like the bottom half of my body was whispy, like Genie from Aladdin, and I was starting to get smoked from behind. I has terrified, and I had never felt so betrayed in my life. I just closed my eyes, said my prayers and waited for the end.

Then I freaked out and tackled my computer desk, and layed there drooling playing with my dangling mouse like a cat would lol. I've never done it since, I was a little freaked out from the episode. Maybe I'll try it again some day. :D
 
I watched a light fixture glow and grow.

My buddy freaked out and bolted.

He came back twenty mins later with that look on his face.
