doubt that other wolf killed and ate 3 cows a week though...a wolf pack maybe, and one every 2 weeks...I sense exaggeration but who knows.

There's no way it ate that amount of meat but it's possible it was killing 2-3 cows a week. Wolves are known to kill for sport.

Since nobody is telling me its fake, it must be real.

I don't know the story behind the killing, buddy in the photo shot it and that is all I know. Personally I don't really care, I don't hunt myself, but there isn't a whole lot to do in Labrador, so hunting is a fairly popular thing to do.

What an asshole ........ big man shoots a wolf with a gun.

Lets see him take on a wolf with his bare hands, wolf would fuck him up.

It would have been just a tiny bit courteous for you to give a warning and an external link instead of posting the picture right there like that.

I'm kind of torn. If you have a large tract of land and transient roving wolves, you might want to control that somehow. But they set up wolf traps where they bait them with meat, and then shoot them when they're caught, like they do bears, it's unfairly excessive. I could see like a mass routing, to get them all off the land, but that's probably unrealistic and impractical for these people who aren't worried about wolves going anywhere anytime soon.

Respect the wolf but don't overcuddlyize the creatures. They can be dangerous to people.

I won't say that I hate hunters because I might go bow hunting with friends one of these days. But it is hard to respect man's cavalier attitude towards nature. That animal might have been used to going around people's homes, might have gotten fed by people, or been friendly with them. (Might explain the bandage on the foot...caught in a trap and someone put a bandage on him.) But wolves are a real danger out in some wilderness places where people live, so I can't really fault someone for killing a wolf that's been peeking around the house. Going out and hunting them down for fun is where I draw the line though.
There are a lot of people on this earth, time for some more animals. This is the whole `i love animals, but not in my backyard` attitude. It´s time for humans to get back into nature in the way it was ment.
We fund and donate to national parks in Africa because we want to save the endangered animals there (with all its consequences for the people living there) but if it comes close to home the attitude suddenly changes to `sure animals are nice, but now they might harm me or my property`.

The not in my backyard mentality applies to everything. It's why so many people are against the OWS protests, but at the same time support the protests in the middle east.

"the way it was meant"
not sure if serious...

It's always been "if its me or them...I choose me." The difference is, you have to take care of the balance.

Not in my back yard? Well..if wolves suddenly came to suburbia and killed every dog they found, people would certainly not want to live with wolves. It's not the wolf's fault that a new subdivision was built on the path to an old hunting trail. But it can be a problem. The issue is, how do you solve those problems? Diversion works, but people go overboard with the culling and shooting from copters when they could just run them off. Sure the wolves might come back, but I say we're encroaching on their old turf, not vice versa.

This isn't an optional, we can't live with wolves. But we can coexist. I don't love wild animals larger than a medium sized Aus cattle-dog in my backyard, thanks. That's silly. Don't overbuild, don't build into wilderness. Stop developing land, fuckers. We have enough houses and too many neighborhoods. Develop what you already have, housing developer shitheads.

English isn´t my first language. I do my best but i make (a lot of) mistakes, `ment` being one of them :).

My solution would be that each country would reserve a certain (large) percentage of land for wildlife, in which they just let the animals be instead of trying to control populations. Put a big fence around your house or city and let the wildlife be.

So defend instead of attack

mate I could give a fuck about proper grammar or typos, never fear.

I am not against wildlife preserves, but wolves tend to be migratory by instinct, so I'm not sure how well that would work.

There have been some progressive green hypotheses that posit we could fundamentally change the way we build human cities to allow parts of the land to go back to nature, but we modern humans aren't there yet. Not even close. We can't even manage ourselves, let alone nature. For every conservationist or environmentalist that wants to preserve, theres a capitalist that wants to make money from natural resources, because it's free money, just sitting there for the taking, right? Right?

I only would have had sympathy for the limp and he hadn't killed me 10 times.

He's protecting the grave and sword of an honored warrior. YOU'RE the one who trespassed there, acting like a bad-ass who had to go around killing everything he comes across!

That animal is HUGE. Scary f'ing huge.. I have no respect for hunters unless they intend to eat the meat and use that beautiful pelt.

*shudders* at the thought of a pack of wolves that size hunting us. :o

I had venison sausage today and it was wonderful. Just because trophy hunting is uncool, please done't condemn all hunting. I know lots of people that hunt deer and ducks and all of that meat ends up on the table.

It would be nice if it was actually 1 against 1. I bet the number of capitalists is much much higher though.

you don't just kill an animal for fun and throw it away once it's stopped breathing. american wolf pelts are highly sought and there is a mountain of meat on that animal. better he gets his meat from shooting a healthy wild animal than supporting THE MAN whose meat industry systematically abuses animals for profit margins.

I'm all for hunting, but last time I checked you really couldn't eat wolf. Unless your willing to use the meat from the kill, it shouldn't be killed/shot to begin with.

Damn that's pretty fucked up. I'm hoping the man is a midget rather than that wolf being something out of goddamn Twilight.

Gray wolves can grow up to about 63 inches. Assuming this wolf is 63 inches, that guy could easily be over six feet tall.
