Has your town ever been in a game?

Seeing Oahu in that Test Drive Unlimited game was kinda trippy, even though a lot of things were wrong. Still pretty cool none the less!

Seeing my old office in PGR (forgot which one) the one that had the Shinjuku, Tokyo course was also amusing.

Los Angeles here. I think I enjoyed LA Noire more than a lot of people just because it was so fun to spot real landmarks that still exist. And godDAMN I can't wait for GTA V.

Lol no, I live in a small rual town north of Sacramento and i can't think of anything being set there. I'm like 3 hours way from San Francisco, that's probably the closest.

I've seen our local skatepark in a skate video once like 10 years ago, that was awesome.

When I played CoD 1, the final mission in theory took place only a few miles from where I lived. Pretty sure the devs just picked a name from a list of German towns though, because there seemed to be no intended resemblance. It felt quite weird.

Grew up in Phoenix:
I can't think of any games that take place there.

Lived in LA:
The obvious one is San Andreas. They really got the landmarks suprisingly right for such a tiny space. One big example is Santa Monica pier and the surrounding streets. Not bad.

Vampire The Masquerade. The Santa Monica pier here is detailed but wrong in a ton of ways.

Not a chance, although I guess you could argue that it was in Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 in a sense since you could build your own Great Adventure but it's not like the game ever said where it was. Hell in the instruction manual every real coaster that was in it had the exact town it was in on the page except for the one from GA where it just listed as "New Jersey". I remember me and my brother actually being pretty disappointed when we saw that. We were so excited to see our towns name in an instruction manual but it was brutally taken away from us.

Can't think of a single game based in any specific Canadian city where prominent unique buildings are rendered. Montreal is closest (in Rock Band 2 World Tour), and ExciteTruck casually mentions Canada as a course when it is sort of based on the Rockies.

Nothing ever in Toronto, though I think it's a damn shame R* doesn't base a GTA game on it and the surrounding area.

Greater
Toronto
Area

Because really suburbia out here gets RIDICULOUSLY sketchy.

New York City.

When I got GTA IV the first thing I did was slowly cruise around the city, checking out their rough approximations of different areas of the city. It was pretty fun.

I'm going to cheat and say it has. I live in Toronto, and Toronto and the surrounding suburbs is known as the Greater Toronto Area, or the GTA.

Not my town, but my state for sure! Colorado was in Last of Us, Forza Horizons, Dead Rising and Syphon Filter 2 just to name a few

Not to my knowledge, hopefully it will be soon.

GTA: Maidenhead. Play the role of Sweaty Dave as you infliltrate the world of petty weed-dealers, making your way from the ghetto of Larchfield to the luxurious semi-detatched houses of Boulter's Lock.

Could happen.

Adelaide, South Australia was blown up by the Reapers in Mass Effect 3, and I think the street circuit has been in a few racing games.

Does a video game and Show tie-in count? I am originally from St. Louis so I love Defiance and seeing it in a post apocalyptic world with different species but they still utilize the Arch as a radio broadcasting place.

Oxford, England, and Grey Matter:

It takes some... interesting liberties with the geography. And I'm damn sure the HSBC bank isn't a pub.

My hometown? Not a chance. I am currently living in Leipzig, Germany, though. Don't think it has ever been in a videogame either.
