How can you resist Miku in HD? ):
It is a bit pricey, I was originally planning on getting the song pack DLC with it before the price was announced.
I dont' think I can:lol But it doesn't help when PD 2nd comes out next month and I'll probably have to buy dream theatre 2nd as well...

Btw, that psp strap is rad, need to get me one of those when 2nd releases.

There's a new version of the promo video for Dreamy Theatre up. This version is 3 minutes long; while it starts off the same as the old promo video, it shows off a lot more of the new HD-visual versions of some of the songs:

Project Diva: Dreamy Theatre Promo video (long)

Also, here's a promo video showing some of the songs from the next DLC song pack for the Project Diva game, which is various songs sung by Rin, Ren, and Luka:

Project Diva Motto Okawari: Rin, Ren, Luka

That song pack also includes a Communications minigame based off the 'Toeto' song.

The Dreamy Theatre DLC pack does work to improve the graphics of all other Project Diva songs, including fan made ones and the song DLC packs (though the Motto Okawari link above only shows the original PSP graphics in its video).

Both DLC packs above are for the original Project Diva game, not the sequel that's coming out in July.

So, some people on GameFAQs have already got it. Looks like there are two downloads, one for PS3 and one for PSP (UMD checker most probably). The PSP is needed only for the initial launch of the game (not sure if this means you need a PSP with the game only for the "activation" and don't need it for the subsequent runs).

Also, it looks like the Dreamy Theater supports trophies! Can't wait to get home from work...

You must be pretty terrible at this game then:p But at least your username and avatar is full of awesome.
I've been wanting to say that to you for a looong time haha

I think I might get this now. I want miku trophies!

You do need it for subsequent runs. I left to the title screen to check if there was an attract mode and when I went back in. It had to do the PSP check again. And yeah, the PSP file is the uplink app for it.

I downloaded it, but no matter whether I 'speed up the timing' or slow it down, I always need to hit the button on the controller far ahead of the 'beats' (in other words, I have to hit the almost a full beat earlier then the corresponding part of the song).

I thought I may have misunderstood what they meant by speeding down/slowing down the timing, but whether at -99, 0, 99 or most things in between it seems to be the same. It is saving my changes, and how bad the beat off is seems to differ, but I can't ever get them to match up close enough :/

I'd retroactively have all the silvers, but that gold one is going to be MURDER, perfect on disappearance hard @_@

Still haven't sorted out my timing issue, but its near unplayable with such a difference between when I'm supposed to hit the buttons with when the actual music beats are. Wonder if there's some sort of problem with my PS3 having its audio delayed (I once had a problem playing Blu-Ray discs where the audio was lagged compared to the video, but that went away when I changed a system audio setting)..

GameFAQs users reported several things concerning the Dreamy Theater:

1. You don't need the UMD, all you need is the save from Project DIVA on your memory stick.
2. You cannot unlock songs and costumes in Dreamy Theater. All unlocking should be done on PSP and then transferred to the PS3.
3. You need to attach your PSP to PS3 every time you want to start the Dreamy Theater.

Really now? Going to test this then since my budget release UMD isn't in. I really wish I didn't lend the OG version to my roommate whose in Mexico right now. :lol
Does the verification program for the PSP now run on CFW? If it doesn't I'm going to have to consider going into regular firmware if I want to play. :/

Figured out the audio issue.

I switched crossfade playback off (apparently is preset to be on, I never saw that option before) and switched audio playback from 48hz to 44.1/88.2/176.4 Hz.

One of those fixed the problem, works fine now ^^

No, it doesn't. Decryptors also don't help.
Well I got a 3000, so this is a difficult decision to make here... I guess I'll do it. Need to see if there is anything wrong with straight upgrading first.

Soooo we can just have a save file on our PSP for dreamy theater to work?
Apparently, I'll let you know after my PSP is running on OFW. Forgot the damn thing needs to be fully charged before it will let you update. :P

Reason is because I've bought dreamy theatre yesterday, but I won't get project diva until the end of next week. I wouldn't mind being able to play it tonight, since there are saves at gamefaqs right now. :D

It just started updating right now so I'll update you as soon as it's done!

That's what folks are saying. You should try it and see if it really works out. I'd tell you myself, but I'm going all out proper with how I'm running it >_<

I'll give it a try. Thanks all.

However, what a stupid idea from Sega to implement all of these hurdles to get the game running. They should have made it a full fledged game on retail and I bet it would sell 100K copies at least.

Works fine with just the save confirmed! I'm going to miss you Custom Firmware. ):

Thanks for the confirmation! :D

So do you have to actually use the PSP system as a controller, or is it just required for the linkup and nothing more?

Also can you run Dreamy Theater without changing the PSN account on your PSP, or do you have to change to the JP PSN account used to purchase the content? I'd love to buy this but if it means having to keep switching back to my EU account it's not worth the effort.

You can use the DS3 as a controller, fightstick, or whatever is an acceptable input.

Got the launcher installed fine on my PSP without changing accounts or anything so it's good to go.

Perfect, thanks InfiniteNine. This game is making my wallet weep, ÂŁ45 for the game, and now I need a ÂŁ30 points card for Dreamy Theater and another ÂŁ30 points card for the first set of DLC.

Just bought a psn card so I'm waiting for the code. Excitement!

Since you can't unlock anything on dream theatre, I'm guessing that by connecting the psp each time it will refresh the save with the stuff you just unlocked on the psp? (I havn't unlocked all the tracks/costumes yet...)

Also, how big is the download?

Yeah tell me about it. Not to mention the 2nd game coming out next month. Luckily I managed to find this discount psn card site so it's not tooo bad. I just hope the site isn't a scam though.

Yeah, it loads a save from your PSP each time, so you can unlock things fine from the PSP and have it transfer over. You can alternatively download a complete save if you just want to jump in and play.

Don't remember exactly, but around 1.5 GB

Ok, I've downloaded the program and copied the gamefaqs save file on my PSP, but still can't get past the PSP check screen.

I think there's something wrong with the save file.

MadCatSE from GameFAQs reported the following:

I've finally managed to run it. The save data must be:
1) From the same PSP which is going to run Dreamy theater
2) It must be saved under 5.50 GEN D3 or any OFW higher than that.

By the way, another user, KirbyKollector, writes that he successfully used Rock Band guitar and Rock Back drums as a controller for Hatsune Miku: Dreamy Theater!!

Got this in yesterday so I can start unlocking costumes again!

Two quick questions for anyone that has this, for the trophies do you need to fulfill the conditions on Dreamy Theater or does it just read your current progress on the PSP game? Also does Dreamy Theater eliminate the issues with slowdown on certain songs? It was a nightmare trying to unlock the white dress from the Melt song because of the slowdown killing my combos on the PSP.

To get the trophies, you must fulfill the conditions on your PS3.

Dreamy Theatre does fix the slowdown/framerate on the songs that were affected by them... although of course, you can't unlock songs/costumes (modules) on the PS3, so you still would've had to deal with it unlocking the white dress on the PSP ^^;

Has anyone gotten a Perfect on Kogane no Seiya Sousetsu ni Kuchite (the song right under Disappearance) on Hard? It's the last song I need to get that gold trophy, and it's driving me nuts. --;;

No matter how many times I run through the song, I always break combo at around the 431 mark, near the end of the piano solo. I can pretty consistently combo the rest of the song though the roll at the end gives me a little trouble too.

Good thing this thread was bumped. So about the PSP version, should I go with the PSN version or get the UMD? I have both a Go and a 3000 btw.
