Have you ever been put in jail?

Have you ever been put in jail as a result of a crime you commited? I'm not talking about simply visiting or being inside a prison, but being sentenced to a prison term. How long were you in for? What did you do to get in? Drug Charges? DUIs?

Personally, I haven't and I'll try to keep it that way.

Never ever!
Only run-ins with the police I have is driving on the wrong road one time. EDIT: oh, and also speeding one time.
*knocks on wood*

Nope.

But once the police tried to catch me and a couple of my friends after smoking some weed. We managed to run away though. I mean we wouldn't have gone to jail jail, but at least put in a cell for some time.

Went to juvi when I was 15 for a couple of weeks here in So Cal. It was terrible.

"Kids" as old as 18-19, before they age out and go to either YA or County. Those guys were hardcore.

Seeing as how the majority of so cal gang members are teenagers + hormones + primarily locked up with other gangsters, I'd say it can be worse than county.

My best friend got 14 months... He was out in 3.5 months on tag. Visited him quite a lot during that time if that counts!

No, but...

My ex-housemate is in jail for stabbing my ex-neighbour, to death (scary man. Obvious psychological issues).
My ex-highschool friend is in jail for trying to stab his girlfriend to death (28 stabs. She survived).

What'd you do to get in?

Was in car with some friends who were targeted by the gang unit in LA. We were stopped, forgot why, there was a bag of cocaine in the back, I was arrested with my friends. That, and iffy situation at home meant my one phone call home (called by the person who registered me in) turned into my mom making up a whole bunch of shit about how bad I was at home.

NOTE: Was not in a gang.

One bag of coke and everyone gets arrested?

Got thrown in the drunk tank 5 or 6 times. 1 month in Provincial for an assault I didn't commit and spent 2 more days in jail in 2010 for possession of a dangerous weapon.

Jail sucks. Luckily my butt is still Virgin Tight™.

Really sucks fighting in jail though. If you don't stand up for yourself you're gonna have bad time. Even if you get your ass kicked you'll at least gain some respect.

Nope.

When I was eleven I got stopped by the cops for trespassing on some train tracks on a bridge over a road even though there was someone sunbathing (they were abandoned tracks) above us as the cop told us off. He didn't care about that though. Point to be made.

Yup. One bag of coke isnt exactly a small thing.

Everyone sat on the curb, I was told to STFU, not say a word. Everyone was told to do the same thing, so no one claimed it. Either rat someone out, or all go. No one said anything.

Of course, they were waiting to get at least 2 of the guys with us. I dont remember the whole story, to be honest. I was 15.

Nope. But escaped from some cops after a fucking punk threw a cinder block to a classroom window (yes, with kids inside) whilst I was returning from high school with a friend. Since the cop only spotted us and he told us to lay down in the fucking ground, both my friend and I decided to make a run for it.

Thank god for unfit, fat as fuck Mexican cops. We played a lot of football back in the day, so we had an advantage.

No, got away by the skin of my teeth as a young punk though.

My two brothers were as kids. They were out late at night and the cops picked them up because some kids in that neighborhood had been reported stealing car stereos (it wasn't my brothers).

The cops put them in two separate interrogation rooms and told them that they'd cut a deal with whichever one narced on the other first. Of course neither one gave them anything. So the cops held them in cells overnight.

One of them was woken up at 4:00AM by the cops and told that the other one had narced, and that he would have to narc too if he didn't want to take all the blame, but he just said "bullshit" and went back to sleep.

The cops kicked them both out around 6:00AM. Seperately. The dumb one hitchhiked home, and the smart one found a convenience store and asked to borrow the phone. My parents were apparently worried half to death and had been up all night. My family didn't really trust cops so much after that.

Can't blame them. Agree with your brother, that's bullshit.

Been thrown in the back of a cop car. But only because I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I wasn't charged and let go.

That's the closest I have been. And probably ever will be

Yep, it's not so bad. It's funny because so many people on GAF make shrill cries that people should have jail time for crimes they find abhorrent, like public urination. I can understand why social inverts would fear jail so much but it's basically like Purgatory. Bad mattresses, basic cable, but plenty of books and good food.

never got put in jail but did a break and enter, went on vacation and was arrested when i got back.

This sounds like an interesting story. Did they get you when you came back into the country? Was there a warrant? How'd they know it was you?

Was that even legal?

nah i was in the middle of nowhere camping. i hadnt expected to get caught since nothing happened for a week or so after then i went on vacation. the police knew it was me since they got the other two guys prints and those snitching shit bags tried to put the blame on me. unfortunately for them i have a way with twisting things so they ended up taking it up the ass in the end and i walked away free.

there was time prior to that one where another guy and i got nearly got caught since he needed to piss during the event. luckily he had the skills to cut the stream and we bolted.

btw i dont do this anymore and havent in many years now but i have helped a neighbor break into her house after locking herself out.

Never been to jail, but I did get pulled over once for having foggy windows. #thuglife

ive had cops follow me for a long time then only to pull me over for a dim plate light and another time just cuz literally a few car lengths from my parking spot. now i get paranoid every time a cop car trails me.

Twice. The first time I had bail but they housed me in gen pop because people there go out of their way to let you know they don't give a fuck when it comes to paper work. Was out in about 10 hours.

The second time really pissed me off. I spent almost a week in orange over an uncleared speeding ticket I paid off.

This is all great in movies and shows when you know the culprit, but in real life not so much. Sounds fucked up.

This ALSO sounds interesting. How'd you manage to deflect it unto them?

before the cop that was doing the interview got too deep into things i managed to get him to mention the other guys did their interviews a day before i had left for vacation. he said they found prints and that the other two had verified that i was there but if i wasnt contacted on the same day i figured they didn't have my prints. so i took a gamble and played the victim. i told him that i was with them that early that day and they joked about doing it but i had left to do other things. after all they had a bunch of their prints and not one of mine. i painted a nice word picture making them out to be pieces of shit which they were for snitching and in the end it worked. I walked away with no punishment while those two shitheads had to divvy up my portion of the fine.

What did you break and enter into?

What did you break and enter into?

homes on the wealthy side of town. back then a majority of the new houses were built using the same two window companines in my area. the way the windows were designed made them easy to pull open a tiny bit providing the latches werent locked.

then the tiny gap was enough to pop the bottom part of the screen and turn the crank further to slip inside and unlock a door. It took less than a minute or two without causing any damage or leaving any trace. You could easily do it without any tools although we had this rubber covered pipecleaner type thing to speed up the crank turning.

todays windows dont have the same small give when closed and the way the screens lock into place makes them impossible to get into without damage.
