Have you ever bought a game without having any info about it?

Persona 4 Arena and I always be grateful I took that leap of faith. Also, Mass Effect to some extent.

Not really no.
OP you bought the Order because everyone told you the game has the best graphics on ps4.
So that doesn't really count.

So i bought The Order: 1886 because everyone told me the game has the best graphics on ps4.

If everyone told you that it had the best graphics on the PS4, then you did in fact know something about it. Even if you bought a game by looking at the cover or the name of the game and that was all you knew, you still knew something about it.

To answer your question though, yes, when I first got my gamecube, a few years into it's life I plopped down some money for just bundles of games. I bought a bundle of like 15 games off of E-bay from some guy, not knowing what any of the games were, just that I wanted to have a bunch of games to play for it really quickly. I don't think I ended up with one good game in that package, except this Midway collection that was pretty sweet.

Most of my purchases during ps2 era were all based off cover art. Okami, God Hand, Kingdom Hearts, God of War, Ar Tonelico(came with an art book too which was pretty rare for me to ever see), Radiata Stories, Wild Arms 4, Dark Cloud 1 + 2, Rogue Galaxy, and Onimusha.

Back when the original Xbox came out I worked with my father for a week and made enough to buy it plus a couple games.

I knew nothing about the new system or games other than it was new and I wanted it. My first two games were Morrowind and Halo.

Ended up playing Halo with my cousin all day and all night to clear the campaign.

Metal Saga's probably the only game that I bought with zero knowledge. I liked the concept, but couldn't get deep into a playthrough and wound up playing Metal Max Returns instead.

I bought Lord of Magna with very little knowledge and it was probably one of my worst purchases of the 2010s. It felt like they didn't give a single fuck about gameplay mechanics beyond knocking enemies into other enemies.

I bought a copy of Demon's Crest for the SNES because it came with a manual.

One of the best games I've ever played.

I bought the Beginner's Guide on Steam yesterday on a whim. Admittedly I'd watched a teaser trailer but it was pretty light on info, so I went in with no clue about what to expect. I knew Davey Wreden could write well from the Stanley Parable so I bought his new game and went along for the ride hoping for a pleasant surprise.

Turns out after playing it the game wasn't for me, which is a shame.

Yes, I've bought a few games knowing nothing about them.

I used to review games for a living, and I'd have to write up (and play) a title four or five times before it saw release. So when I had the opportunity to play games that were wholly unknown, I leapt at the chance.

I got burned a few times, to be sure. But I really like coming into a game that's a blank slate or as close to it as I can get.

Back in the day I would purchase pretty much any game that was published by Squaresoft or Square-Enix. I did not have many regrets that I can recall, except for Unlimited Saga for ps2.... ugh.... was not a fan of that game.

When I was younger my dad and I would sometimes buy a PS1 game or two without really knowing anything about it. If it looked interesting, we bought it. Thankfully we never really bought a bad game. That's how I got Nuclear Strike and Jet Moto 2, two of my favorite PS1 games.

The closest I've ever come to doing so was with Catherine. All I knew was that it was developed by the Persona team. Outside of that I didn't know anything about it. Ended up becoming one of my favorites of all time!

Some of my all time favorite games I got without knowing anything about them before hand. Some were given to me tho, not me buying them, can't remember which one which today, so a list would be useless.
I don't think I would buy a game today without looking to make sure it isn't a broken mess, considering the trend.

I was tipsy one night and really really just, wanted a new game. Any new game. So I went to the PS Store and picked the most interesting looking thing available. Life is Strange it was. Started it, shit went crazy, I got hooked. My best impulse buy BY FAR.

I got a 50 dollar psn card back in the day for Christmas and I was looking for a game to buy on the psp store. I was looking at jrpgs and saw persona 3 portable. It was really highly rated so I bought that. It was one of my most intelligent decisions ever.

When I was a kid, thats all it was.

parents buy games, I played the games. Usually around holidays or a birthday. Those were the days of gaming bliss.

A lot prior to the PS2/Xbox era. A lot of times you didn't have much to go on other than the cover and small write up on the back of the box that told you basically nothing.

I got a game called Hydrophobia (I think that's the name) for really cheap off the PS store once. Never played it and I still know nothing about it.

Resident Evil, the original. I had seen a big preview article in EGM or something, but it didn't interest me and I didn't really read it. I just looked at the screen shots and thought "What the fuck kind of game is this? Is it like Myst or D or what? Why is every single shot from a different camera angle? How do you control it?" It was just really confusing and mildly aroused my curiosity. A few weeks later I randomly decided I needed a new game and went to a shop and just browsed. Nothing caught my fancy. I almost left empty handed, but then I saw RE which had just come out. I wasn't enthusiastic about it at all, I literally bought it just to find out what the hell kind of game it was, with a slight hope that maybe it wouldn't completely suck. I went home and started playing and it didn't take me long to see I'd done the right thing. I remember that very same night I went to a gig and the club had some arcade games. I was playing Joust with this guy I didn't know and we were chatting about video games and he goes "Hey have you heard of this new game called Resident Evil? It's fuckin' rad, man!" "Dude, I just got that today!" And then he and I and his buddy had a little circle jerk about it.

I bought both Legacy of Kain : Blood Omen and Chrono Trigger with out hearing a single word about them ... as far as gaming goes , it was the best decisions I've ever made.

Such a terrible game.

As a kid I used to buy stuff by looking at the cover and reading the back. That's how I discovered games like Zelda, Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy, etc.

Seemed to work well, although every once in awhile I'd get a dud.

I had never played a Zelda game and knew nothing about the series other than its name before I bought A Link to the Past for the GBA ( I wasn't much of a gamer back then). That was a good day.

Xenoblade... got a lot of hype on Gaf and I loved Xenogears/Xenosaga, that was reason enough for me. Fired it up and found it was nothing like Xenogears so I sold it for profit :o

I bought Far Cry 2 when I was slobberknockeredly drunk. I remember thinking something about fire being cool. I do not regret it.

The last game I bought sober without some research was Gladius. Brilliant game. I enjoyed it more than Metroid Prime and Eternal Darkness.

The most disappointing game I bought without research was probably Dungeons of Dredmore. It's a good game but the art style turns me off.

Ironically, it happened yesterday with The Beginner's Guide.

And I'm so glad I did, that game is really all about NOT KNOWING what the hell you're about to play.

Of course. This was really common in the 80's and 90's.

You win some, and sometimes you don't and end up with this pile of steaming shit...

This game is available on PSN for some unknown reason if you want to re-live the low point of 90's gaming.

I bought Final Fantasy VII because an employee at FuncoLand recommended it to me. I remember watching the beginning cinematic completely stunned, and the game always crashed right as Cloud hopped off the train. Took months before I found out there were issues with my PS. When I got a working PS, I loved the game.

this is true for nearly every doujin game i own. they tend to be so offbeat that i don't even care much about what it is beforehand

I bought the original Hotline Miami off of the artwork you see when you close a game on steam and advertisements for games pop up before it blew up.

A buddy of mine in college asked me if I had heard of a game called Demon's Souls. Told me I'd be really into it.

We drove out 30 minutes there and back to pick it up. Best impulse purchase of all time.

I bought Total Annihilation randomly at a retail store, probably my best shot in the dark purchase

I purchased Total Annihilation based on its cover art alone. Exceeded all expectations.

Dammit...probably going to reinstall it now.

I can't say completely blind. Sometimes it's developer reputation. Sometimes it's a good word of mouth. Generally, I do go in blind in terms of gameplay systems and story.

Multiple times as a kid, yes. All we had to go by back then was the cover art and maybe some blurb on the back.

Best games I've played were gifts I didn't ask for from people who aren't really into video games

Super Metroid
Super Mario World
Pokemon Blue
Kirby Super Star
Street Fighter II
Ape Escape
Chrono Cross
Gran Turismo 1&2
Final Fantasy X
Dragon Quest 8
Uncharted 2

Just to name a few off the top of my head
