Have you ever played a PERFECT game?

Rocket League

Can't think of a single flaw to be honest. Maybe the crate system but its all cosmetic for the most part so whatever.

If you mean by perfect as a perfect failure of the series and the worst release in the series on PS1, sure.

That's your opinion, i respect that. You know mine.
I could say that i share the same opinion of the game like many, many others around. Or the media. Or the press.
Is still the best Ridge Racer to date. And it's perfect, imho.

Quick story: I was really late to the party with Ocarina, played it on the Wii VC. For years I heard people saying how horrible the water temple was, so I was prepared to hate it. Then I got to the water temple... and loved it.

Constantly re-equipping those boots is what kills it, but I don't share much of the other criticism either tbh

Yes, and people will hate me... but it is Minecraft

It's way too simple, and that actually makes it perfect

I have zero complains about it

Mario 64
Super metroid
Castlevania symphony of the night
Sonic 3&s&k
Diablo 3 after years of patching
Red alert 2
Tetris

I love them both, but neither is without flaws

MGS1 had lots of tedious stuff close to the end: forced Alert sequences, padding running back and forth with those launch codes

Dark Souls had Lost Izalith and broken multi-player matchmaking compared to the other games

Perfect game doesn't necessarily means flawless game to me means it brought something new and big into the series I believe both games have made that and most definitely one of the least flawed games

Shin Megami Tensei 3 is as close to a perfect game as I've ever played. The only grips I have are UI related.

The only other one I can think of is Mario 64.

No, but Snatcher is near..... really near

-Great VA
-Great Graphic
-Great Music
-Great Story
-Great Character
-Great Puzzle
-Great Length for adventure game

But :

-Average Shooting section

Same for Chrono Trigger, problem game is too easy at replay...

A perfect game will be hard to achieve...

Since gameplay and technology are constantly improving, there is no such thing as a perfect game. The best you can do is a game that is ahead of it's time.

I don't feel that way very often

Chronologically:
Diablo 3

long years of nothing

Shatter, Ratchet: A Crack In Time
Mario Kart DS, Advance Wars Dual Strike

more nothing

Smash Bros Melee

Wizardry 8

...

Tetris

Journey and Inside are perfection in my book.

Polished, honed, accessible, perfectly realized and unforgettable.

I honestly couldn't tell you a single flaw in either of those games.

Super Mario 64 is the most 10/10 game I've ever played, and is as close to perfect as I've ever seen. "Perfect" is a hard thing to pin down, but Super Mario 64 is just within reach for me.

Nope. Not even my most favorite games are perfect. I can sight something wrong with every single one of them.

The same can probably be done for a lot of GAF's "GOATs" and "masterpieces", but people don't want to because, well, I guess they're really protective over their favorite games.

There have been some good suggestions ITT

Tetris
Rocket League
Super Mario Bros. 3
The Witness (my answer)

Are all good answers in my opinion

Ton of great answers. None perfect, however. I know mine certainly isn't everyone's favorite but by my personal metric, it is a game with zero flaws.

Literally Perfect implies that there are no flaws and that it's pinnacle of gaming entertainment period. The game would have to be so incredibly entertaining that literally every game ever made would be frowned upon in comparison by every human being that experiences the medium. There would be no reason to play other games(for entertainment) if it was literally perfect. Due to subjectivity this is literally impossible. You can feel a game is subjectively perfect for your tastes, but that doesn't mean it's in anywhere close to being literally perfect.

Short answer: No

No such thing as perfect but I've had some close very close. The most recent being INSIDE. I was in aw the entire experience. Short, sweet and brilliant.

Only three games I would consider personally perfect.

Zelda, A Link to the Past
Zelda, Breath of the Wild
Tomb Raider 2013

All three, just perfection, have zero issues with any of them. Rise of the TR might be there too, just my personal perfect games. Can't fathom a single thing I disliked on them. A lot of other games I would rate 10/10, but still not complete perfect. These three are though. Burnout Paradise might be here too.
