This is very interesting to me... Not only because I really enjoy Alan's work but also because I had no idea he was getting so popular.
While I don't fully agree with the Alan comparison (I like his stuff decently but not a favorite of mine, I can see the comparison but I don't think it's an apt one outside of moderate strangeness), I think it's partially the strangeness and online platform that is making him a bit more well known, but I wouldn't say popular yet.
Anatomy for the record I think is a bit more intelligent and slowburn. Though I personally do like Alan's stuff, I wouldn't really describe it as particularly intelligent or slowburn.
