Get a shitty job. Prove you're better than it, get a less shitty job. Get better than that job and repeat until you're in a good place. Not sure about how it works in the UAE, but it works in most places.

In 2009 in a shit economy I was making 8.30 an hour. In less than 4 years I had more than quadrupled that, but it didn't happen overnight and it took a lot of climbing a shitty ladder to get there. Then, even if you have to relocate somewhere like I did, you'll still find work because you have valuable experience. But you don't get that handed on a silver platter, unless you're some Ivy league fuck who's got daddy taking care of everything.

Sell anything you own with a power button on it. If you steal be prepared to be arrested as you should. We don't live in a lawless society.
 
Big bags of Lentils and rice. Lentils has protein and is very cheap. I has never in your situation but when my stomach was messed up i would eat rice and lentils everyday.

I really don't mind if I paypal a few dollars to the wrong person. When you think about it, x% of people you meet on subway asking for money are liars. But the other y% would really appreciate the little help you give them.

Plus he is in UAE, your suggestion is completely pointless. Amazon Prime Now is like the First world of all first world solutions. Most of the United States can't even get it.
 
Local mosque should able to help you. Pretty sure they have charity for poor people.

At worse they should have dates and water nearby. I know some restaurant in Dubai that give food to poor. Not sure there is one in your area

OP possibly bought digital so there goes the value in those games. He sold a PC and a PS3 and now says he has food for a bit. That's why he doesn't want to sell the PS4, etc. right now. If he runs into this problem again he's already shown a willingness to part with some of it, so it seems alright.

You're going to need to cook your own food OP and lobster was not a good plan when you were low on money.

OP, only you know your circumstances but if you really can't afford food, the Internet persona you've built up is very different from someone completely broke.

As others have said, sell some possessions and buy cheap food (beans, rice, noodles) to get by for now.

It's really not. Even if he doesn't own half of that shit anymore, selling something worthwhile would gain him some time.

Dude is starving, but has to make it till Feb 1st. If he can do that, he'll be fine.
He hasn't eaten in two days, nor has his aunt who lives with him.
He has no source of income at all. Meaning, his account is empty at the moment because he spent it all on bills (and presumably uses the wifi from a nearby place)
OP decides to finally sell some things, like his phone and PS3.
Here's where things get weird. Dude has a bunch of games (I don't know if he sold those or not in the process with the PS3), and a PS4. That last thing alone could float him.
People are giving him advice and he has yet to confirm where he lives, the local area, or otherwise so that the generous people of GAF can help.
Everytime someone tells him to sell his shit, which would net him immediate income and a better chance to live, he is rude and dismissive about it.
He refuses to sell his PS4 and games because they are "rare" and won't get to play them anymore.
He has yet to ask his friends for help, but plans on it.

So you mean to tell me that this dude is walking around hungry as fuck, alongside his caretaker/aunt, starving his ass off for two days with no money, and is sitting on a potential source of currency? All because he doesn't want to sell his games because he won't get them back anytime soon?

I missed that. So he has enough money to float him, but that's still two weeks. If it isn't enough, and this is all true, I hope he considers doing so over dying. Lack of nutrition can have longterm issues.
 
The second-hand market was virtually non-existent in Dubai--let alone the UAE at large since I'm pretty sure OP is not in Dubai--a few years ago relative to other countries in the West where that might be more common, so good luck getting any of that value back.

As far as I can tell, there's nothing in the ToS that states that I have done anything wrong. Are there rules I'm not aware of?

Usually if you're in such dire straights, almost been there myself, your priorities shift drastically.
 
Did the OP ever actually ask for money? He lives in the UAE, and as far as I can tell, he never even suggested a viable way for us to lend a hand. Correct me if I'm wrong, because if not, then this post...

people are awful big on personal responsibility, but have trouble seeing the big picture. like why it's so "difficult" to be so due to factors outside of one's control. the best people can try to do is adapt in the the face of adversity, but a lot of these situations are pretty dire. That's when it becomes absurd to say "well I guess you made some bad choices then?"

yea its warranted if you think it's all a setup for a favor or a paypal, but if they're just telling you what happened to them, only, then no need to take out the long knives.
