Having trouble with my Switch Account

So I woke up this morning to get a few matches of Salmon Run in before I had to head out, and as I walked into the building I got this error code saying that the server was running normally.

So I took a pic of it and went to my album so I could post it to twitter to see if anyone else had the same problem. When I get there I got a second error code and the one that has really worried me.

So now I went and checked through all the options in the Switch, and I can't find anything that has to do with "relogin" to my Nintendo account. The closest thing I could find is "unlinking Nintendo Account", but when I went there it says that my save data will be erased, and no way am I wanting to do that as I have over 260 hours in Zelda and still want to finish the game in Master Mode as well as all the time I've put into games like Splatoon and Mighty Gunvolt Burst.

I went and contacted Nintendo about it just a few minutes ago and they told me there was currently an Outage, but looking around the splatoon thread, if there is an outage I seem to be the only person getting affected by it....

I honestly don't know what's going on with my Switch right now and at first I was worried about not being able to get any Salmon Run games in before I headed out, but now I'm worried about losing all my data due to unlinking my nintendo account being the only option out of what the error code told me.

You can also unlink your account in the e-shop i believe. I don't know if that will give you other options regarding your savegames.

Try signing in at accounts.nintendo.com to double check I guess?

If you change your country setting it often asks you to re-sign in upon loading the eShop (but keep in mind that you forfeit remaining balance every time you change your country)

I'm having the latter issue actually, trying to upload screenshots to Twitter.

I don't even know where to re-login.

I logged into the website and everything seemed nornal there but nothing changed on my Switch

Do you have latest update installed? ver. 1.1.2 Could that be causing the issue?

Yup positive I'm fully updated

Yeah I don't understand this error code at all, even stranger is that Nintendo doesn't even have that error code listed in their site.

Yeah they told me something about an outage, but it seems like everyone else in Splatoon thread is unaffected. And in that reddit there is a link to check maintence status and says everything is fully operational

Sounds like I should wait and see though. Already headed out so gonna miss Salmon Run anyways :(

Try rebooting your console and a internet connection check once you have time, issue is resolved and I had no issues accessing when I restarted

Is the issue still ongoing?

I know I've to re-login to my account every time I switched regions on it, but it just brought up the login screen when I got the error saying I had to (which might be a different error than yours) when going into the eShop. So I guess I'd suggest trying to go into the eShop? Or if that doesn't work and you have no eShop money try switching the region of your account and going into the eShop again? (And then you can switch it back.)

Will give this a try if I get home and my Switch is still having problems. How do I go about Switching regions?

Last time I checked was at 7:45 so don't know since then, but wasn't working at that time

Tried that before I left and didn't seem to change anything, will give it a try when I'm back home again though

Okay, just curious. Sometimes there are residual network issues even after they believe they've resolved them, and those don't always get reported promptly. So hopefully we'll find out that it's just a network issue that'll get resolved in the next few hours.

From you Nintendo Account settings on the website go to User Info -> Profile -> and change Country/region of residence. You'll get a warning when you do (or be blocked if you have an eShop account balance) but it's safe to do it. You might have to unlink any NNID linked with the account first as well, but you can relink it later.

Is Unlinking safe for my save files though? When I looked at the unlinking option earlier I got this text

So I've been worried about the whole unlinking the Nintendo Account thing as the last thing I want is to lose my save files, especially all the time I've put into Zelda.

If Nintendo said there was an outage maybe wait until tomorrow to see if the problem is still there before doing any unlinking, etc. Especially if you're not sure about doing the unlinking.

Just checked again and I still seem to be having problems. What's even stranger is that it seems to be connected just fine, like I can enter the eshop and it even says when a friend is online, yet I'm still offline...

You're always considered "offline" if you're not currently playing a game.

:O I actually did not know that. Lemme give the games a try now and see if it's working then

EDIT: Okay it seems I can send pics again on twitter without getting the error code, and I checked Splat and seems to be up. Thank goodness I did not unlink my account lmao

Mods pls lock topic if you see this

For future reference I didn't mean that unlink, I meant unlinking your NNID from your Nintendo Account. (From the account settings website: User Info -> Linked Accounts -> Nintendo Network ID)
