HBO Go, Comcast launches on Xbox 360 tomorrow

I figure this would be a great thread/time to find out:

Anyone have Carnivale pop up on the list of shows they can watch? If so, what is your cable provider? It's not popping up for me (on Cablevision) and I heard that different providers get access to different shows.

Anyone else getting Error903 (resource key not found) when trying to log in to the Xfinity app? Seems like I either time out or get this error.

I'm getting the same error. Ugh, so I can browse the content of HBO GO but I can't watch anything, the one app I can watch stuff with won't let me access it.

Carnivale isn't showing up for me either but I'm also with Cablevision.

Why would a provider have anything to do with the specific shows on offer? God these companies are miserable.

The Xfinity app is kinda bad. It doesn't show the episode numbers for any show, and the quality of shows (even in HD) isn't that great.

Not to mention that most of the shows that are available on the browser version is missing from the 360 app.

The Xfinity app is like one step up from useless. And the fact that we can't use HBOgo is so dumb. We get the neutered version of it without full series. Luckily the whole first season of GoT is up so I can see what all the hubbub is about.

the xfinity app is just ondemand on xbox... the full version on the PC/iPad is so much more useful. Especially with HBOGo blocked.

So friggin lame

I'm unable to log in to the Xfinity app. I usually get a bad username/password error, but I got a timeout/Error 999 once. I'm guessing that the back-end servers are foobared.

HBO GO doesnt work Xfinity ? What kind of crap is this? It works find on Ipad and PC.

So after downloading Xfinity and not having the password from my roommate I exited the app to download HBOGo to find that I can't even use it. So going back to Xfinity and now that my roommate is here to put in the password, I keep getting a error code 4004. "XFINITY License Server is unavailable" and not being able to get to the password screen. I've tried deleting it all and redownloading, I've tried only deleting the License and nothing works. Occasionally I got error code 7000. I forget exactly what that is. (edit, just got it) "XFINITY Server Unavailable"

Awesome!

Pretty sure it used to show up for me on DirecTV, but I switched to Dish a couple weeks ago and i'm not seeing it anymore. Didn't notice this until now

do you need xbox live Gold for this? I have an xbox and a WOW! login for HBO GO, but i dont want to pay 50 to microsoft to use this.

You can usually find deals to Gold for like $30. Still no go on the log in with Comcast. Guess I'll just try later tonight.

I said dammmmmmnnnnnn

The MLB.TV app is sexy as hell. As a New Yorker in Dallas, I can finally watch the Mets suck live for the whole season. I will thoroughly enjoy this app this year. Can't wait to watch the Mets absolutely tank. Man, I'm going to be happy with this. Going to test HBOGo later, can't wait to watch GoT!

I got an "incorrect login info" error and now it's just constantly loading, when I retry.

HBO Go is a no-go. And now Xfinity won't work.

Wow, that's the first I've heard of this. I'm also on Cablevision and likewise I don't see Carnivale, which doesn't bother me because I have Carnivale on DVD, but I'd like to know what else I'm missing.

I tested HBO GO for a few minutes. The newest season of Curb Your Enthusiasm looks great in HD, but the first episode of Band of Brothers in HD looked mediocre and the audio was out of sync. The overall design of the app isn't bad. Hopefully it'll eventually be upgraded to 1080p video, but for now what's available has me utterly giddy.

I'm fucking furious that Comcast isn't allowing HBO go....this is pure horseshit.

I'm seriously thinking about downgrading my subscription and just using other ways to get my HBO (Watching at friends house, etc).

Tried it out for a bit, works as well as I wanted it to.

Will be so nice to catch up on The Wire and Game of Thrones.

Having a problem with go through Verizon. I'm being told it might have to do With the fact that I have a movie package as opposed to just hbo. Anyone else?

Feel bad for the people who are stuck with providers like Comcast who are blocking access.

Wouldn't expect much more from Comcast in the first place though.

The xfinity app doesn't have HBOGo either. Which is weird because every other xfinity thing allows you to access HBOGo. This just gets you access to the stuff that's on on demand over your xbox.

It has an HBO section. But it's a much smaller selection of shows. And it seems like it has a good amount of what's currently running on HBO, as far as movies.

Is there a limit to the number of devices/concurrent streams you can have going?

Btw. Time Warner customers are fucked too...just like how they lied that ESPN3 was coming and it never did.

On HBO GO? Yes. I loaned my account to a buddy to use on his iOS device, and wasn't able to access it on my PC, until he logged out. This may have changed though. I did that over last summer.

Dont know why but my image quality suuuuuuuucks. At first I thought it was because I was doing some downloads and it was tying up bandwidth but even after it finished the quality was horrible on GoT. Couldnt even read the opening credits clearly. Switched it over to Netflix and picked an HD show..flawless. Anyone else seeing this?

Heres a shot I took when I first fired it up...

And heres one from a dudes twitter that I found when looking into the poor quality...

So I tried to copy his shot on my end and heres how mine looks....

Needless to say Im butthurt. My download speed is 12 mbps and the website says you only need 2 or something. I buddy of mine has 10 mbps and his looks like picture number 2. Just a shame that I was looking forward to this and now I have rubbish on my TV.

^ that's pretty weird. May have been a fluke. I have a crappy 5mbps connection and watched half at noon and the rest at like 5 p.m. and had HD the entire time.

Hbo go has been hit or miss for me on pc. Sometimes I get a great hd stream, and sometimes it constantly jumps between low and hd. Netflix is always 1080p for me, so I assume it's a problem on hbo's end.

Yeah I checked my connections and what not, reset modem/router etc. I pull up the info bar by hitting A on the controller...where it shows you your quality meter and what not. Nothing...doesnt even register on HBOGo. On another note, I went BACK to netflix and now Im only getting 2 bars on Netflix out of 4 the 4th being the HD logo. Dunno what the deuce man but my rageface is on. Im gonna try a few more things though before calling AT&T and blaming them.

HBO Go did that for me watching on my PC, on the Xbox 360 though it's smooth and doesn't drop, it does start at 2 bars and goes up to 3 bars/HD within 10 seconds of the beginning but it's always been like that for me at least.

Does anybody know of Microsoft cut some kind of deal with HBO and YouTube for exclusivity on these apps? Because if not what the fuck is Sony waiting for.

I think microsoft can be more flexible here since the apps are made by the other companies with the content. Its one of the reasons why the netflix app on the 360 ... looks like the netflix website.

I still think new content offering from sony will be tied to ps plus. That is probably why its taking so long for sony to build apps themselves and hook it into the plus service. The last set of feature updates, background updates and 150mb of cloud saves is tied to ps plus.

Yeah but none of the apps are tied to plus, and that's one of their main advantages - that you don't have to pay a premium on top of the service to get those apps, especially with Netflix.

So I figured out what the deal was. The short of it is basically the wireless adapter for my xbox went tits up. I plugged my xbox into the bridge I just installed and in about 5-7 seconds the little HD icon under the info pane lit up and the quality was so much better. Glad it wasnt the cable company. Lord knows they would have never fixed anything like that.
