I wonder why they've moved to beta keys being back in the emails again after the past few Blizzard betas have been directly added to your Battle.net account.

Pretty much.

I guess 5 years of WoW and 200 hours of D3 don't help.

Nope it doesn't. Beta testers are selected depending on their hardware for testing purposes. It's not a reward for any kind of loyalty. And you'd be surprised how common 5 years of WoW and 200 hours of Diablo are.

Yea I know, still just a bummer when you think about it.

I am entering all kinds of contests in hopes I can win one and scouring all sorts of seedy sites to find someone who is selling one. Will probably have to format once this is all said and done.

This is just insane. My kid has grown up with Warcraft being an almost constant factor. Now this? I have watched a load of game play and it actually looks like a great CTG.

9 years of wow, the Collector's Editions for WC3+ wow + every expansion + sc2 + expansion + d3, every blizzard game registered to bnet account

Play time/money spent means nothing its specifically hardware/other metrics

edit: beaten

It sure is interesting a lot of high profile stream personalities managed to get into the beta!

(I did not even sign up until today - lol)

It's heavily dependent on just how powerful you can get from spending tons of money. It's awesome mechanically but seems like its almost impossible to avoid pay to win.

I got sucked in last night and played just against the AI for like 3 hours. Fucking Hunter whooped my ass.

This is pretty fun so far. I mean I'm terrible at it and all but hey. Expert cards seem way strong but at least you can earn packs and apparently craft specific cards you want down the line.

I sure hope I get picked. I want that hearthsteed mount! Sounds like you get it from the beta. Will suck if you don't get in, and don't get the mount.

My heart was crushed when I logged into my account and there was no beta listed. Only hope now is that emails are going out in waves...

Might be a good thing I will lose what little productivity I have left if I get into this beta.

I don't know why Blizzard is still doing gamekeys(Or is this just what I had to use to get in?)

Most accounts should just auto-activate to Hearthstone if they opted in and got in, so you can see it on the new launcher and not check your e-mail repeatedly.

I've spent something like 10 hours with it so far, I am pretty hooked.

My only complaint so far is that the in-game currency generation is far too low. Buying 1 pack of cards is 100 gold, you get 5 gold for 5 wins against other players (through random mode, there are no prizes for playing people on your friend list). So you need to win a loootttt of games for 1 pack of cards. There are also "daily quests" you can do that generate gold, but, so far it seems you only get 1 quest per day (granted this is only the second day of me playing, could be random for all I know).

That said the problem with it is I don't think spending gold on packs of cards is worth it anyway. You can do the arena mode for 150 gold which gives you 5 rewards after losing 3 games. The awards are based on how many games you won, but, so far every time I have gotten at least 1 pack of cards anyway. Plus the mode is more fun than just random battles anyway.

Otherwise I am loving everything about the game, but, I am not someone who plays other card games so I can't really compare it to anything.

Pretty sure that IS how it works. If you're in, it shows up in your battle.net account and you download. Done.

Keys generally come from giveaways and other things like that.

I really want to play this :[

This is exactly the type of project I want to see more of from Blizzard (and other developers). Focused, small games that put good mechanics first. Been watching streams all day and it looks like a blast.

Ugh, never get into the Blizzard betas I want to get in, always get into the ones I don't care too much about.

Would love a Hearthstone key sent my way if anyone manages to get one they don't want.

Only thing I have to offer is a Card Hunter beta key http://www.cardhunter.com or I might possibly part with some Steam trading cards and/or grab you something from your Steam wishlist. Just hit me up in PM.

I've been playing WoW for about 9 years and flagged my account for all their beta tests for all their games and haven't gotten into a single one of them.
They've commented about this loyalty type thing, saying they would like to reward long-term players with things like beta but they've still done nothing.

Yeah, Blizzard prefers US.

Its quite surprising that its so quite about this game on GAF.

I am interested in it, but I am not going to get all excited unless I know when I get to play it. I hope I can get into the EU beta once that starts.

Played an online game against someone yesterday and I had only eve seen like 2 of the cards they had. The rest just demolished me. I had no prayer. Hopefully that's a matchmaking issue and not a pay to win issue.

Apparently I was wrong here. They're emailing keys for this, which is different than how they have handled the last few betas they have done.
