Good luck! :)

I think I wasted a good couple seconds typing out something dumb like "hello!". I assume it doesn't matter though, should have just put in ".".

I had the message typed up in a separate tab so I could just tab over and press enter. I am still fairly certain I was far off from the first 100 though sadly :(

That post on FB had over 1200 likes at 4 seconds (at least from my view). I sent my message at around the 3 second mark but I'm not getting my hopes up.

If you go into your messages and the status shows "seen" you're probably getting one.

I got my invite during the first wave of beta invites a month or however long ago it was. Which is funny to me, as the last TCG/CCG I played was Pokemon back in 7th grade. It's amazing how bad at this game I am.

I don't think I am getting anything. People had time to "Like" the post before I even managed to send the message. Too bad. I guess I'll wait for open beta.

I thought they were closer to release but if there still giving away keys by 10/4 than who really knows. I guess it is blizzard so they take forever to release games just for the sake of it. I've watched a few matches of the game online and looks complete enough for a release to me...oh well whatever.

I've been playing for 3 hours straight, and I haven't encountered any type of bug yet. It seems pretty polished to me, this beta may be for mostly balancing issues, as they see which decks win/lose the most, etc.

Got my invite in email today. Just go to Bnet and opt in. Don't bother with Facebook like contests.

And the game is crack. Addicting hardcore crack.

From another forum:

If you want to find out the exact time you sent your message to BlizzardCS (so you can weigh your chances before they 'send' you your private message) inspect the timestamp in your message to BlizzardCS like this image : http://i.imgur.com/HXPvJw4.jpg.
(CTRL+SHIFT+I to bring up Developer Tools in your Browser which allows you to inspect).

You will notice in the Image (and in your Developer Toolbar) a Data Attribute 'data-utime' with a string of numbers (like so : 'data-utime="1378426521"'.
If you grab those numbers, and paste them into a Unix Time Conversion tool (like so : http://www.onlineconversion.com/unix_time.htm).
It will provide you with an exact timestamp (including seconds).

For example, the BlizzardCS post 'Accepting Wave 2 requests now' was posted at exactly "Fri, 06 Sep 2013 00:15:21 GMT".
My message to BlizzardCS was at exactly "Fri, 06 Sep 2013 00:15:29 GMT". This shows it took me 8 seconds to send my message to BlizzardCS after their post (I'm so slow!).

I was 11 seconds late. What about you guys? Anyone here get a key?

Plenty of people here have done just that. Not many can say they got a key that way though.

Using that, 5 seconds. Yeah, not fast enough. Even if there was only a small amount of bots, I can't possibly have beaten those.

I know with previous WoW expansions, Diablo, and SC2 if you had an existing BNet account they wouldn't even send a key. Just an email notification. This time they actually sent a key.

Once you add the key to your account, Hearthstone will show up on the BNet desktop client as well.

Yeah, I hate giveaways like that..arghhh.... Come on Blizzard, why won't you take my money?

Well, at least they are still doing the opt-in beta wave invites. The social network invite contests are not a reliable way to maximize the audience as I don't think there's an actual way to tell if someone is already in the beta before they win the contest. Then you have stuff like bots and whatnot as well.

Honestly, as long as I get an invite before Hex comes out, I'll probably be willing to put $50 down towards packs. Once Hex comes though, I'll probably forget this game exists. So right now they would have some of my money if they sent me an invite! =P

Yeah I just want to waste my B.net credit. I won't be playing anymore D3 so this is a nice way to have some fun.

And no, I don't think I'll be trying again. I've wasted a fair amount of hours today with nothing to show for it. Not complaining because that's how it works, but I'll be swamped with awesome games in a little while, I won't even remember Hearthstone.

I've sent them message on FB 2 hours ago, like few second after posts appear and got nothing. I'm done with those contests, its waste of time ;\
I just hope one of my friend get access to the beta, so i'll be able to at least test it.

There's some serious bullshit going on with the Facebook giveaway. Multiple users on Reddit winning keys with messages sent a couple minutes after the post, and users with messages sent seconds after the post are empty handed.

Seems like the best strategy is to actually intentionally wait a minute or two.... how fucked up is that?

Having a lot of success with Mage. Pyroblast has been a nice late card for me. People don't expect that instant 10 damage to come.

Glad there is a shit load of hype and anticipation for this, i was worried the internet wasn't interested in CCGs/TCGs anymore.

Saw this on the Blizzard forums - this contest is rigged...

So the rules state that qualified respondents must have a battle.net account in good standing and also have previously friended the BlizzardCS Facebook account. The post quoted in the thread says something about liking the post or page as well.

Your point is? I have proven that random choosing is against contest rules and now you ignore that and refrain to other requirements?
For what it's worth - I fulfill all requiremtents and yet people who messaged Blizz minutes after me got chosen. That's rigged in my book...

Hi everyone! Unfortunately phase 2 of our beta giveaway is on-hold so we can’t Tweet any today. We'll provide 12h+ notice before resuming.

Looks like they might be having problems with the EU Beta today. Hoping that this means there's only an issue with the giveaway and not the regular opt-in e-mail key delivery service!

It's extremely dangerous that I have the next week off with access to this beta. I only got in last night and it's all I can think about. Haven't spent any money yet - been too busy unlocking all the classes - but I know it's only a matter of time.

This game is extremely polished and super fun. Just got my ass whupped in a match and still had fun figuring it all out. Some of the class specific cards are CRAZY and can totally catch you off guard but it doesn't feel cheap somehow. Maybe as I learn more of the game it will but for right now it's just fun to see it all play out.

Oh man, "Hearthstone" showed up as an option when I right-clicked the Battle.Net launcher in my systray this morning and I got all excited...

Soooo just got into beta. Is this going to take over my life?

Wait, did you get the mail today or just noticed today a mail you got this week? I thought they didn't send new invites during the week-end.

Also question, so does Arena still uses your own cards or it's all random? I imagine it uses your cards since it would then be useless to get new cards but still, want to be sure.

You draft 30 cards to use, has nothing to do with what you have before and you don't get to keep them.

Yeah, that's been there for a while now. They know about it (the official statement was, I believe, "Oops"), but they didn't say when they would fix it. I think it's kind of mean to leave it there, as a reminder, taunting us with what it knows we don't have.

So I know that it's random and you don't control your deck like in "Play" mode but it doesn't even draft those cards from your own pile of cards? Since Arena is where the meat of the game is then what's the point of buying/unlocking new cards if you're never gonna use them again?

Ah, I guess I just didn't notice it until today. Gave me a heart attack... :)

Possibly sour grapes at this point, but I feel like my hype performed a majestic arc and has since plummeted back down to earth. Last week I was checking out a bunch of streams and couldn't get enough of it. This week, nothing. Same thing happened with me and the SC2 beta as well, IIRC.

Blizzard needs to be more prolific with their keys, damn it!

Got it yesterday. Thought it was a hacker email but tried the key and it worked.

You use them in ranked.

I think Hearthstone may end up being a good casual game to play, but it's not going to have much longevity. At least not with the number of cards released so far, the pretty high price per pack (for just five cards), and I don't think Arena is a good replacement for a real draft mode. I could definitely be wrong, and I think it's a great basis for a pretty unique digital card battle game, but I think e-sports and value of cards matter a lot to these types of games and, while I can't speak on the e-sports side with Hearthstone, the actual value of the cards will be non-existent since the cards are not tradeable.

I noticed some of these flaws when I was watching all of the streams. I was like you in that I was watching a lot of streams, but I have little interest in watching streams of Hearthstone right now.

I would really like to actually play the game to first confirm or deny my fears, but it seems Blizzard is only interested in giving away keys on Facebook that likely go to bots and people who already have keys so that they can sell them. It's not really a fair way to maximize the audience for testing and hype purposes. I do keep on checking my email multiple times a day to see if Blizzard has sent me a key though. I do really want to try out the game for myself in order to properly judge it.
