Watching very early Day9 videos and he lost one of the practice matches to unlock each hero. I don't feel so terrible now.

After playing against a mage with 4 polymorphs in my first Arena I don't think I'm ever going to bother with that nonsense again.
I got the 100 coins for finishing every basic deck last night. Still no legendary cards from the free packs I've earned, but I have a few neat epics, like 10 damage pyroblast for mage and a sweet 8/8 neutral sea giant that has a lower mana cost for every other minion already in play.
I'm still a bit butthurt over how strong and frequent the anti-minion abilities are for like half the decks. It feels like it's not really worth having any strong/expensive units when they can be so easily taken out the turn after you play them by pretty much everyone other than like paladin.

Yeah with so many resets overextending = lose. If you are winning you just need to mantain enough board presence to deal with anything that can be summoned in one turn.

Probably a good thing. The card is ridiculously OP. If I'm playing as Priest and it gets to late game I'll probably win 70% of the time time because of MC.

If you win 70% because of MC then you are playing wrong (no harm intended) i love priest, and i dont need MC to win tbh, its all in the deckbuilding.
I don't think he meant he would only win because of mind control, but that it makes everything much easier. It's a card that can counter any enemy minion and summon one to your side. I think giving it a turn limit could make things more interesting, otherwise when playing against a 8+ Priest you will always need to play safe.
I think the only real problem with Mind Control is that it is a Common. This is super warping for Arena play since it is a 2 for 1 every single time you play it and can answer the biggest bombs in the game. So it showing up in effectively every priest Arena deck can become an issue.

If a newbie like me can build a deck that doesn't get cripled by MC then everyone can.
Problem is not in it being OP or not but in MC making big creatures not viable in decks rending big parts of cards not playable.

Isn't one of the options to silence your opponent? Maybe I'm imaging that though, I never tried it, but I am pretty sure I saw it.
You can right click them to "squelch" emotes, but I don't think there's an option to permanently disable them.

Go all the way unless you have like 50 gold to your name. You can still get screwed in the gold department on 8 wins. You are just more likely to get more gold with 8 than 9.

I think the site competitions are all kinda bad because people already in the beta will just sign up for more keys anyway. Of course that doesn't make still not getting in hurt any less.

Just started playing today and did 2 arenas (3 and 5 wins). I definitely overdraft early drops. Anywho my rewards were 45 gold and a pack and 95 gold and a pack. I know right now you can't but was there any mention of being able to trade our packs/dust for gold later?

As a side note, did Blizz ever say why they chose to giveaway codes via email and not just unlocking it via people's Battlenet account? That would of removed a lot of bullshit from the situation imo.
If you're only interested in Arena and will never play constructed, you should retire after eight wins. You'll earn slightly more gold this way, but fewer cards. If you play any constructed or might in the future, you should go for the ninth win.
so bliz can sell the keys as well ... O.O

Just got a key, took me like 2hrs to install, as somehow my authenticator stopped providing functioning codes. Got it hashed out now, but ran into more problems trying to instlal HS with my battlenet agent, sucky experience all around.
Will log in later today, hopefully it goes smooth.

Fansites, twitch streamers, etc... would be unable to get people into the beta.
It would be a bad move by Blizz to do away with keys.
