Paladin and Shaman are godly in Arena because Arena is all about mass top tier minions and these two classes are all about the minion massing. Paladin and Shaman have a ton of buff cards to keep their minions alive and trade well. Mage is also similar thanks to the 1 damage hero power and their mass removals/freezes but you need some luck to get the good shit.

Hunter are awful in arena for sure. Priest depends a lot, if you get a low of removals and that spell that turns your hero power into a nuke then you will own otherwise you will get owned. Warrior/Rogue are in a similar spot, Mid tier-ish. Warlock and Druids are also luck dependent.

They also both have low level bonfires and lots of efficient removal to kill opposing creatures.

Just got into the beta and after I got over the fact that I didn't like the Mage at all, I build me a nice Hunter deck and played a few ranked matches up to rank 18.
The game has the 'just one more game' factor that can destroy your entire day. Haven't had that for a long time.

I also installed the game in german, which I normaly can't stand for video-games, but the dub is pretty good in here. Really invokes WC3 for me.

This is my Deck atm, anything I have to refine?

I just realized: Since the game is german, the cards names are too.. Oh well...

Edit: Also Arena is the place to be - but it's not easy to get 150 gold just with ranked matches. I made it to two wins and learned that you don't attack creatures with your weapons if you don't have too the hard way. Lost way to much live before I realized whatwas going on.

Use one of the deck building sites if you can figure out which is which. hearthpwn hearthhead for example

edit:
I can reasonably understand what those cards are...

But hunter is not my forte and I'd probably give you bad advice lol

Nothing like going 8-0 in arena and then losing three in a row. :(
I guess it was bound to happen when eventually when I only got three spells as a Mage, none of which was AoE damage.

And a commandude.

And a walker.

1) Stall until 6 crystals
2) ????
3) Win!

thanks, I'll look into that. For what it is, I think it works reasonably well. I still have no trap-cards or whatever they are called e.g.

Interesting stream of a guy getting rank 2 and up based on a mage build with no minions over 2 mana, all he does is pyro, ice block and freeze damage.

And it is working rediculously

The more I play ranked the more I see this cheese warrior build with Alexstrasza. It's almost as bad as the hunter shit except a warrior has a ton more board clear with brawl and weapons to pull it off.

climbed from 18 to 12 pretty effortlessly using this. Not exactly an impressive feat, I know, but get this: It's fun! Pretty easy on the budget, too.

Druid Midrange
nice writeup!

I think Druid might be my favourite class right now, really hurts that I don't have any of the Ancients, I should get right on that.

Welcome! It's a lot of fun.

God, the translations... not their fault, but with snappy names like that it's always going to be awkward. (Translating Kill Command with Fass! is actually pretty well done.)

Just my initial impression for that deck (I'm not a great player myself :p) is that I'd run a second Kill Command and get rid of the Stonetusks and at least one of each of your three most expensive cards. There are neutral options superior to them, like an Argent Squire, Silver Hand Knight and Argent Commander. Also replace at least one Razorfen Hunter with a Dragonling Mechanic, it's just better value. You'll still have plenty of beasts to combo with while buffing up your general efficiency with certain cards.

Since you're fairly minion-heavy already, maybe think about running an Explosive Trap or Snipe for more removal.

Also, as you advance you'll need a better big dude as a finisher - core hound is just too easily removed with 5 health (imo). Many good decks run a legendary like Ragnarok to deal the finishing blow.

edit: recommending cards isn't actually that easy since there's no way of knowing what you already have and what you're missing. :D I don't have a Ragnarok myself to run. >_>

I just had the most epic of epic Arena games that ended with a godlike throw.

Last turn I had just a Dire Wolf (2/2) on the board nothing in my hand nothing in my deck sitting at 4 health. The other Druid player is at 1 life, 2 cards in hand and none in deck. He draws Ancient of War. Puts it on Taunt and I basically say "Well Played" after a long hard ass game. He then puts on his armor... attacks my minion for 2 damage and loses the game.

I was in AWW..... I have never seen a thrown game like that in my life. I wish I could've uploaded it on youtube. That guy is probably deleting his Hearthstone client right about now. Also his deck was insane. Every single card was fucking absurd.

It does sound a little weird. He would have been at 1 hp and 1 armor if he didn't suicide so he coul'dve survived fatigue and hit you in the face the next turn with his ancient of war... He probably just didn't realize that. Unless he already got the 1 hit fatigue and was about to take 2 damage next turn, at that point he'd have lost no matter what.

Actually you might be right. He might have had one turn of Fatigue already and might have died on his turn. Still if he had just hit my face with that 1 attack, I would've died from my own Fatigue!!!!

This is interesting... the eye for an eye paladin secret, that deals damage you take to the enemy hero, can trigger eye for an eye on the other hero.

So basically it doubles all the damage you deal from one strike.

So just bok+might some giant, hit him and you have a OTK heheh.

Spent $3 bucks to get 2 booster packs and the closed beta legendary card. I will only ever spend money again if they ever have a further incentive to spend money such as another legendary or a sale.

Finally broke the 9 win barrier with a Pally deck yesterday in arena, ended up 10-3. Amazingly I didn't have 1 weapon in my deck.

Eye for and eye is a sb card in a game w no sb. Awkward.

Eye for an eye needs to be changed to make it more interesting. Like the damage returned is doubled, or instead of only damage done to the hero it's damage spread out over random minions and the hero.

Playing a warlock rush deck at the minute and having a lot of fun. Tons of synergy mean I win by turn 5/6 usually. Only face real problems against shaman decks that are made to counter rush decks.

I absolutely suck at arena though, think my best is 4 - 3, but I'm usually lucky to even get to 3 wins. And I find arena a lot more stressful than constructed, which is strange because before I got my key I watched a lot of streams and thought I'd enjoy arena a lot more than constructed, however I've found it's the other way round

Went 8-3 with a rather mediocre to bad Rogue deck. 2 Blade Flurry, but only one weapon and 0 Deadly Poisons. So they were like a gimp Fan of Knives since the total cost for the effect would be 4, without drawing a card. Saved the list, but can't be bothered to post it right now.

At least two of the losses were Mages. Just hard countered. Last one had at least 2 Flamestrikes clearing 3+ minions each time. Speaking of which, it's easily a top 5 card in the game. If Blizzard got bumped to 6 mana, Flamestrike probably should be at 8, same as Pyroblast, since they're equally as devastating most of the time.

Suddenly playing against opponents who have no idea what they are doing in arena. It is nice to have some easy wins for once. Mage turn 6 coins. Incoming Flamestrike... Drops a 6 cost legendary that I quickly take out with my poison snake???

Next game I get a light well followed by a core hound with the same snake. Value town.

Neither game was the snake hidden. They dropped those minions in full view.

Yeah everyone is in agreement that Flamestrike is too good right now. 7 mana is a joke for that spell.

Been playing with this middle of the road Warrior deck (I call it Bank Alt) and just finding more and more wonderful things to do with it. I started this morning with the daily quest to win 5 times, and ended up winning 5 in a row. On the way I beat a Warrior that successfully pulled the OTK Molten Giant/Brewmaster combo PLUS Captain Greenskin on the same turn, a Warlock Murloc rush deck, and a couple of Mages (primarily by playing the Spiteful Smith strategically to prevent a Flamestrike). There's just so much wonderful synergy, and if I start falling behind on board presence, I can often shift to aggro mode and finish things off really quickly, because of all the same-turn damage that this deck can pull out of nowhere.

It needs to be 9. Much like MC, you don't want the mage being able to do anything else during their turn. Popping Divine Shield before Flamestriking? Yeah thats not such a good idea.

As a Warrior, the best tool I have against a Flamestrike is to have a Spiteful Smith ready before their turn 7. I ended up trouncing a Mage who cast it anyway. I pulled a Gorehowl and sent him packing. Could also work brilliantly for Shaman, Rogue, Paladin.

Would anyone happen to have an extra key? I wanted to surprise my brother with a hearthstone key for Xmas--signed up for the hearthstone beta on another email and wasn't lucky. :/

Everyone who applied prior to that has gotten in.

Other people really need to opt-into the closed beta yesterday. You'll get invited.

Unfortunately I opted in months ago, and I've been checking all my folders daily, yet nothing for me =/. I thought people were trolling with the prior to 16th thing. Oh well, I don't have the means to really invest / spend on the game atm...so that's a positive spin on a shit situation.

Did you check whether your opt in is still checked on battle net? There's a bug that uncheckeds the opt in box sometimes.

Used Faceless Manipulator on Pally's Ragnaros. Then my copy Ragnaros killed his, turn later i buffed it up with Defender of Argus and Ancestral Spirit. So much fun when you can use someone's trump card against them.

And again it happens. Is there some magical thing that happens at 3 wins in arena? I got 3-0 ALWAYS then I always lose the next 3 games. Out of my 8 arena games that has happened a good 6 times.

Yeah thats weird. Only advice i could give is look at some Arena streams and guides.

I wish Blizzard would add a replay feature so you can rewatch some of your duels and see what you did wrong.

You start having a much higher chance of playing people are 4+ and X at 3-X I guess.

I just lost a game due to the bug that switches your minion's positions on their own. :/

Put a Direwolf Alpha inbetween two characters and it plops him down in the middle... then shuffles him to the side and only one of the other characters got the buff. Has been happening more often recently, can be a real bummer.

Someone said earlier that the game adjusts your level upward every three wins. So you play other 3-X people, then 6-X etc etc. No idea if that's true.
