Hellblade (Ninja Theory, PS4/PC, UE4) - Gameplay Trailer

Camera looks a bit close and too low. I hope we can change that an move it a bit further back at a higher angle. Other than that it looks very good.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say that was Andy Serkis' voice I heard briefly there halfway through. Him and Ninja Theory should always, ALWAYS work together, on every single project.

Game looks mildly impressive. Need to see more.

gameplay they said

looks like they tried to make a AAA game on a budget, so lot of jogging around smaller than you think environments, some janky 30fps combat, lot of narration from one or two actors throughout.

Loving the setting, and it actually looks pretty good consideering it's still in production mode (pre- alpha).

Their diaries are really awesome, a definite must read for anyone interested in indie game production / game creation.

Looks interesting visually. I like that. Camera seems too close.

Also, WTF is going on. Did developers/publishers set their calenders to the wrong week because i´m pretty sure it´s not E3 yet. Also, i dare them to show this exact trailer at a conference. I dare them. I double dare them.

what annoys me the most about this game is probably quite petty. but it's the fact it's clearly a heavenly sword sequel playing as kai, only they changed her name, kept the recognisable face paint and called it hellblade...maybe they're not even trying to fool us? lol

Looks interesting. Animation during the fight scene looked a bit weird.
Definitely keping my eye on this, the premise seems interesting and I like the atmosphere and overall vibe they're going for.

I see why they released this pre-E3. It looks rough. Sad as I like Ninja Theory, but this game just looks cheap compared to previous games.

This looks interesting; mixing elements from Heavenly Sword (the core character designs), DmC (the combat system) and Enslaved (the behind-the-character camera system and what looks to be movement system) to make a action/horror game that covers the effects of mental illness.....

I'm down for this, as I really enjoyed both Enslaved and DmC and the former really had a great story, so I hope that this game has a strong story as well. The visuals look a bit rough, but they still have another year to polish the game up, so I'm sure they will look better :D.

Ninja Theory exploring Mental Illness with this game is also very interesting, as it is both a bold move and very interesting horror elements. I think this will lead to a interesting gameplay system that mixes Silent Hill-esc horror while also having a combat system that mirrors Dark Souls (as the trailer looks like that).

So...the shape of the statue in the background...

No, it's an independant studio. During the presentation, it was said "first on PS4". Don't know how the situation has evolved.

Ah, interesting then. If it comes to Xbox One I'll probably give it a shot.

So are you going to battle from a RE4 shooting perspective with your character to the far left? I think it'd be really cool, although it'd be hard to judge when to dodge.

Damn I didn't know the game was about a girl with a mental illness as opposed to be pure fantasy.

That's cool though.

The initial DmC reveal suggested Dante may have been delusional, so this theme must be something Ninja Theory has had kicking around for a bit.

Check out their dev logs on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpf7ygDaCzM)... They are only a very small team (16) on a low budget so they've done a great job considering - and I'm sure this will improve by the time release day comes around :P

Nobody will play a janky character action game regardless of mitigating factors, but I think NT know that and will focus their energies appropriately. The action looks rough and early (understandably), but everything shows a lot of promise, IMO. I just hope they can achieve a stable framerate on PS4, as their previous efforts have shown a willingness to compromise in that area, much to the detriment of their excellent animation work.

I find the mental illness issues attachment incredibly tacky. Like honestly kind of offensive tacky.

There's nothing DmC about the combat here.
