Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice Will Be Released on August 8 2017 | New Trailer

Very intelligent pricing imo

This is what non uber budget titles need to do imo price competitively compared to those with huge names and advertising budgets

Didn't they use an employee of a different studio in Serbia for that?

Also because it's supposed to be viking/Scandinavian stuff no?

You're probably thinking about the combat mocap, Senua's face is Ninja Theory's video editor, Melina Juergens.

EDIT: Beaten several times.

Please be good and not 3 hrs long.

Game is...gorgeous
How long do you want it?

They've mentioned around 6-8 hours, I think? Which is pretty good with the production values they have and the budget.

If it's 4 hours, I'd still love that because I don't want any filler. All these short narrative games recently have been my jam. Especially for us working folk.

Surprised people thought this was going to be $60, but then again I've been following along with the dev diaries. This was always meant to be a smaller focused game with AAA production values.

Yiiiiiiiiisssssssss!! I've been waiting for this for so long, watched all the dev diaries and even made some personal research into it for a paper about narrative driven videogames. Why's the price 29,99 in both EU and NA?

And how is it gonna affect the great game? You would rather play something that 50+ hour long, but shallow?

Did I say that? No, I don't like long, bloated games.

I just don't want to spend $30 on a potential one and done experience that is very short. Less than 10 hours is fine, but digital only in the US means that I can't resell it.

"WipEout in June, Crash Trilogy in July, what about August?"

Got that answer covered. 2017 is a year that just keeps on giving!

You don't like long, bloated games but you don't like one and done games. I'm not sure what you want lol. Is there a specific criteria? Like, if it can be finished in one sitting, no buy? If three sittings or less, no buy? Has to be 8-10 hours, buy?

Cause these short games will have little bloat/filler, which is why they're short. It's gonna be a narrative game, so not much replayability.

I just said that less than 10 hours is fine. I'd be fine if this is 5-6 hrs long. I am not OK paying $30 for a 2-3 hour experience, if I don't have incentive to replay

Is there really no middle ground between 3 hrs and long and bloated? Come on....

And if this is 3 hrs long, but encourages multiple play throughs? Fabulous.

Is that OK? Anyone else want to chime in about my game length tastes? :)

Anyway, this really looks beautiful, and I look forward to playing it at some point.

you realize that the diaries now clock in at just under an hour? can't help but wonder just how much longer than this the actual game itself will be :) :

You're funny.

No way will this be 10 hours. It'll be more 4-5 I would expect. No replayability unless you just want to revisit the story and Senua. I'm perfectly fine with that though but your mileage may vary.

I'm hoping that there might be a clever way to encourage replays. One can hope.

That trailer gave me goosebumps, holy shit. Stellar performance by that voice actor, whoever he is.

And, while I've been anticipating this for a long time, that message at the end convinced me to preorder. I want to help them keep the lights on and reward their venture. Even Rain World, which didn't grip me, I don't regret purchasing because there is certain artistry
that I think should be rewarded.

Its facial tech will change the landscape forever.

I hope so. That level of motion and facial tracking at such a modest price and such a convenient setup? It's huge. All sorts of mid-budget games could suddenly match (somewhat) the narrative presentation of AAA titles, only limited by the skill of their actors and writers. Well, not "only", but you get my point. Those techniques will suddenly become a lot more accessible. I hope this game turns out well.

For some reason the game doesn't look interesting to me. Has nothing to do with the lead...just want to get that out of the way.

But I want to support their ideology. I was writing it off but then saw it was $30 and their intent, I am Natalie Imbruglia.

Hopefully in deed.
This plus UE4 will mean we "should" be in for a treat in terms of facial animations with games.
If their mid-size game gamble works out I hope more publishers will see thats its okay to let smaller teams from their main big studios work on something relatively small.

20 people out of one of Ubi, EA or Activisions studios wouldnt hurt them. Lets get more ~$30 dollar games out there but with similar to AAA production value.

P.S People might want to watch this:

Previs to Final in Five Minutes.

They beat Pixar, ILM, Naughty Dog and Sqeenix in this category.

That trailer was eye catching. What's more eye catching is the $29.99 price tag. As long as it's not a dumpster fire, you've my support.

They've been talking about this game for so long but I still don't really have a grasp of what it's trying to be.,, even 50% of their release date trailer is a dude talking to camera about the development circumstances and asking for support without explaining why I should give a shit about the game on its own merits.

Outside of DmC, which if I'm not mistake had Capcom involvement, the combat in their games has been very average.

I'm hoping the combat is fine
