It really sucks not to be able to participate in those events. Do you get an in game invitation or how does it work? Cyborgs should stop attacking during my work time :-).

A red alert goes off on your ship complete with flashing lights and siren, the sector under attack flashes on the galactic map.
 
Whats the best anti tank method running solo? Recoilless rifle takes too long.

Also what strategems are you guys running? is the shield generator worth it?
 
Running solo, your best bet is running distraction beacons, pulling enemies away from mission objectives and avoiding tanks-tier enemies altogether. You don't want to be tangled up in those fights

I love shield generator, especially if I'm running support with a healing gun

I run with Thundering Barrage x3, and Stratagem Perk that decreases CD by 40%.
The last perk is either shield or distraction signal.
Dropping a distraction beacon on purpose+Barrages=fun. You can clear the whole map out, and it feels so good seeing bunch of red dots disappearing from your map.
Tanks are too slow and dumb to avoid the constant barrages.
 
How frequent are the defense missions?
Haven't seen one yet on my 3 days of play, I guess they mostly happen when I'm not playing if they're global.
 
Fucking asshole kicking me before I get the rewards after a whole level just because I talk for bit after a I get Facetime call right at the end.
They picked every fucking fight on the way instead of just moving along to the objectives.
 
Didn't realize we had an OT. I've been playing quite a bit. probably around 15 hours now. I'm level 20, and I think I've pretty much experienced everything. So here are some thoughts and wishful thinking as the game goes forward.

1. Challenge missions that restrict use of certain strategem or require you to use specific strategems to complete the mission.

2. Restriction of amount of strategems that can be brought. As much as I love my tank, it makes the game boringly easy. Personally being able to bring 4 tanks, or mechs into a mission all by myself is a little rediculous. I think it would make more sense if you could only bring one of each strategem (at least for specific strategem).

3. Fashion Divers. Obviously we'd all like the option of changing the colors on our divers gear to make them a little more unique. Hopefully in a future DLC they add more looks, and alpha channel sliders for equipment.

4. Influence rewards, it would be cool to be able to unlock some unique gear whether it be cosmetic or otherwise for gaining community influence.

5. Different secondary weapons, at least allow us to have a magnum or something else to choose from.

Obviously I'm not including things like additional alien species and mission variety because I'm fairly positive those will come with later DLC.
 
Couple of games in tonight with Liquid, King Clown, and Jackiiscool! We did a cyborg level 10 planet to get the HAV. I'm proud to say I usually had the most deaths on the team. Also may or may not have wiped 3 of us while in the HAV for firing the turret at an enemy too close.
That was the most fun I've had so far. For the most part we had pretty good teamwork and we got better every mission. I think we had a great setup, though a turret might help next time. That last mission in particular went really smooth except for having to skip the first transmitter and come back to it later when it was swarming with enemies. The whole mission was nothing but transmitters and we did it really efficiently.

I gotta take some credit for absolutely ruining one of our attempts when we did the second of three on the planet. I insisted we land right on top of the capture area to start capturing immediately, but we just ended up swarmed by tanks. I used 5 of my dive bombs and we must have had ten or fifteen deaths (and a destroyed APC) before we retreated and decided to come back later. With our resources drained and morale broken, we didn't stand a chance. Our next effort was successful and I learned my lesson about starting far from objectives.

It was also my first level 10, so the sheer insanity of it was pretty overwhelming.
 
Shut down the game immediately without saving... then reload. You should have everything back.



Huh... that's a new one... I assume your PS4 was in sleep mode or whatever before turning it back on?

hmm I think the DS4 disconnected because of the controller timeout setting, and yup, when turned it back on, my level reset

Good lord... I need to make sure I NEVER do this... and I often walk away from my games while powered on...

The game has a lot of awesome features, but I wonder how some of this stuff made it through QA, especially during Sony's own acceptance testing, who should check for stuff like this in every game...

Edit: Good thing this doesn't happen on Vita... I leave that go into sleep mode while in game all the time...

Yeah, this game has way too many bugs. Did they rush this to market or something? Such a pain in the ass. It's a shame because it's actually a great game.
 
Finally cleaned up my friend list enough to be able to use the friend tab in the game. Makes things so much easier.

I got the energy shield yesterday, love it. I need the laser cannon ASAP. I want to upgrade the machine gun and be able to move and fire. I'll probably be on around 6 pm pst.

Democracy is life!!!

Does the controller disconnect bug affect Vita version during sleep mode at all?
Just getting into the game today and was wondering which gun is good to invest points into.
I'm only a level 13 but I've found the first Shotgun to be highly effective. The only problem with it is that you have to be careful where you point that thing. It can blow your teammates apart with one shot.

For the later levels, I'll recommend the Railgun since it stuns tanks. I don't have it myself yet but I've seen it in action.

But honestly, I'd save your points and use them on upgrading Strategems.
 
I need to upgrade my pistol. Especially since it's all you have when carrying the blackbox, etc.

You can use a SMG while carrying the black box.

Also turrets are awesome, just be smart about placing them. Always on the edge never close to you.
 
Just getting into the game today and was wondering which gun is good to invest points into.

Early on, I recommend you maxxing out your UAV for the samples and resupply for the ammo (these will always be useful), as well as the recoiless rifle, the exosuit and the statis field. For airsupport, the airstrike is usually good enough to be an alternative to a nuke for a lone bug nest or AA.

For weapons, you can either boost up your smg to get the ministun, your shotgun, or your assault rifle, depending on which weapon you like more.
 
Just dont throw it right next to the party.

I always drop it a good distance out, so turret engages before the enemy is near the team
people use the turrets in a wrong way. you need to throw it at least 400 meters from you. thats what i do. and i never get friendly kills.
Accidental team kills is only part of it. There are a lot useful stratagems and only 4 slots, taking one up for trash mob duty doesn't make sense past difficult 6 or 7. Especially since theyre useless against tank-tier enemies. Sticking with turrets after a few hours of play when you've unlocked way better options is a wasted slot IMO.

I've never once extracted on a 10+ mission and been like "thank god for those turrets that guy brought! What a life saver"
 
First Post ;) Finally approved.

I love the game aside from the bugs and the multiplayer is a blast.

The only thing that sucks is that you cant join friends, atleast its not working for me. Always getting the transport error.
It is a bit of a let down but i hope they fix it soon(tm)

Absolutely not. It's about a team coordinating Stratagems as well. Don't just pick the best loadout for yourself. The railgun turret can absolutely damage armored enemies as well.

I run a lot of support. Heal gun, ammo, resupply pack, UAV, distraction beacon. I don't see where turrets would help

If you're running solo? OK, I get where you need the extra fire power and turrets would be useful. A full team? Nah
The railgun turret can absolutely damage armored enemies as well.
the railgun turret does NOT hurt tank-tier enemies with heavy armor. The Cyborg infantry fighting vehicle and Behemoth bug are immune.

"Armor piercing" and "Anti-Tank" are different things

I've never gone in sleep mid mission... but from the ship it causes no problems... I do it all the time... It'll just kick you out of of your online session if you are in one.
