Help me buy! Borderlands or Batman: Arkham Asylum

Have a 1600 point card and I need to use it. Looking for a single player experience (no live nor do I intend to reup) and I've heard great things about both. Borderlands cost exactly 1600 points but Batman is Batman (although it costs more). Loved TAS and even have it on DVD. But I love great games.

Not terribly interested in spending more but if B:AA is worth it or there are serious flaws with Borderlands, I can be talked into it.

Single Player experience, you say? Batman: AA is exactly that, and with the voices of the characters from TAS involved, it's an easy choice.

Unless you plan on playing Coop with a friend for Borderlands, it's kind of a boring game. I couldn't get into it at all when I was playing by myself. It felt like a big grind. I wouldn't pick it up if I was you.

Batman, on the other hand, is awesome as fuck the entire way through.

Great single player adventure with a great story - Arkham Asylum.

Awesome co-op (or single player) loot whoring "Diablo meets Halo" gameplay - Borderlands.

I love both. For now, I say Batman simply because the sequel is coming up very soon. You may be able to get through the first game in time to give the new one a try.

Since you said single player, Batman is totally the way to go. That, and I personally didn't care for Borderlands much.

Arkham Asylum is a much much better single player game. Borderlands was fun in CO-OP, but the single player experience is rather dull.

Yeah, it sounds like Batman: AA is for you. Borderlands is really meant to be a multiplayer experience, and Batman: AA is perfect for TAS fans.

Another vote for Batman one of my favourite games this gen. Borderlands 2 is coming soon and I think you'd have more fun if you buy that one and play it in co-op with friends or GAF.

Batman fits your description and make sure you also get Arkham City.

Question: how did a Jr Member post a thread?

Batman is the better game, but you would probably have too much fun playing Borderlands to regret purchasing it.

This.

You shouldn't miss Borderlands regardless of how good AA is.

If you're going to play single player only make no mistake, grab Arkham Asylum.

Hell, even if you were playing Borderlands with a friend (the only way to play), I still say Batman AA is the better game.

Wow, there's a lot of Borderlands hate in this thread. I love both games pretty much equally, but I feel like the GOTY edition of Borderlands is the better buy. Batman AA is an awesome rental as the experience is pretty much over in about 8 hours. Borderlands on the other hand (Expansion packs included) is more than triple the playtime of Batman: AA. I also had absolutely no issues playing solo in Borderlands, although the game is definitely more fun with friends.

At any rate, I think Borderlands is the better buy. Definitely more bang for your buck.

The goddamn Batman... game
edit-8 hours? I put twice as much into the challenge rooms trying to rank up on the leader board. Borderlands is fun online but its just ok in single player. And thats what he's gonna do so Batman is the better choice.

Batman is leagues better as a single player game, though Borderlands will last you longer if you're serious about investing time in it.

Batman is the only right choice here... I bought it used this spring, and I have never enjoyed myself so much in years...

I realize you're on Xbox 360, but I'd relate my experience on PS3...

...Borderlands + all DLC was $15 recently on PS Store. Tremendous deal, picked it up, and I play 40 minutes - 1 hour each night just blowing off steam with it. It's entertained me regularly, since the missions can be completed fairly easily (up to the point I am now) and that fits my "dead tired parent at end of long day" lifestyle.

Batman.
BATMAN
BATMAN

It's really fantastic and besides, I can't imagine there's anything in Borderlands that won't be done better in the sequel so you should just wait for it.
