I remember reading a preview in a magazine of a tank game for the playstation 1(maybe saturn too?).
it reminded me of the movie Tankgirl. You control a tank in a realistic enviroment shooting stuff in first person view.
It looked awesome but I don't know if that game was ever released. It looked a bit like that thunderstrike 2 game(graphicswise).
First I thought it's name was "BLAM! Machinehead" but after watching some youtube videos I can say it's def not.

Wow, I had a copy of Assault Rigs in one of the big boxes that the games used to come in (with a rectangular piece of black styrofoam to protect the disc, I think).

I remember being really amazed by it and really scared of some of the enemies.

that pic is slightly off (aspect ratio) and it's the psone version, the arcade version is still gorgeous IMHO.
