Abaranger episode 20: Abare Killer's line " Game ova" that says it all. This guy is fatalistic, nuts, & probably loves violence(well they all do). He walking around knowing full well he could blow up tokyo with the next henshin. I loved how he and Ryouga beat each other senseless.

I love the stunts. Mark Musashi just came to my city last weekend and that left me wanting for more Garo. Minor spoilers
his character is already dead
but I hope he returns in the second season, maybe as a suit actor.

Kamen Rider 40th Anniversary Series.
Amanogawa High School values the freedom of its students. It treasures the individual personalities of the students.
Thanks to that, the school is full of special people. That beautiful space maniac, the fixed Queen of the school, the captain of the football team, the school playboy, that weird goth girl and the young man with the mysterious switches.
This -something-, a transfer student who calls for the storms arrives. And his name is

Gentaro Kisaragi.
His dream is to become friends with everyone in his school. When the two of them meet, their fates are changed by the switches.

So, the enemies are called Zodiarts. According to TV-Asahi's site, the character Shingo is playing has something called "Zodiart Switches".

I hope how he gets his henshin belt set makes "sense". As it stands right now I hope they can add some in some crazy teen drama but it's probably I just keep the expectations low. Suit is growing on me but the belt and the accessories seems too much.
 
After rewatching Shinkenger thanks to Shinkenanon, I think I can safely say that Shinkenger is now my favorite sentai. All the characters are awesome except for Pink, and I don't even hate her.

And I will definitely commit that Genta is my favorite ranger of all time.

Looking at the footage of Gokaioh vs Evil Gokaioh I think sentai might consider moving to CGI for some battles. If they could use who ever did the Rescue series CGI it would be awesome.
 
Abaranger post episode 30 thoughts:

Abare Killer is a very very bad man. He promotes himself and takes a sit at evorian headquarters like nothing. Up to this point I didn't think much about his need to see "an interest in life". His self imposed games hit the ceiling now and his abare mode.

Asuka aside from Abare Killer is looking to be my favorite abaranger on the good guy side. He has some sweet deathblows, a readily handy harmonic, and character flaws.
Some bow chicka wow wow action with Mahoro gets him points too
 
I think I'll be dropping Gokaiger soon. Marv and Don are cool, but I can't stand the rest of the cast. I thought I could put up with it, but that was before the show turned into 'Gai episode 1, Gai episode 2, Gai episode 3, Gai episode 4'. Basco is also incredibly boring, and the 'main' villain of the show hasn't had any interesting moments since the whole Cid thing.

OOO, on the other hand, has gotten way better since dropping the dumb cafe part.

Kabuto is also not holding up well for me. Probably going to drop it, but I'll give it til MCS gets it to episode 10. Going to start watching 555's Gekiranger subs. Hoping someone gives the Shinkenanon treatment to Dekaranger, so I can watch that.

I'm only on the third for now, so I'm willing to give it a few more shots. I usually drop it around 10. 20 or so for Sentai to see if the sixth ranger is ever worth it.

I can't stand Tendou. I feel bad for Kagami. Tendou makes Tsukasa seem like a likable dude

I think post Tendou, any arrogant guy is likeable. Kagami will be fine.

Abaranger ep. 40 post: Best episode so far. Asuka just proving more of the dynamic he adds to the show and his bad assery. Man has a theme song for a reason.
 
My only gripe in Gokaiger is that it's all hurr Heisei Sentai. Gai thing is true, but that's par for the course when 6ths are introduced. And Luka is awesome, watcha babbling about?

I had no problem with Genta by his second episode. Same with Gosei Knight, Time Fire, Gekichopper, etc. She acts like a living anime character. It's incredibly goofy in a show that's already plagued with goofiness. I wouldn't be surprised if they have her fall face forward when someone says something dumb.


Also... This beautiful thing will cost almost 100 dollars to own, but I will pay it. Oh, I will pay it.

I dunno about "plauged with", more like "revels in". I love the goofiness.

Then again, I also liked the cafe stuff in OOO (though I do like the way it's been developing the last few weeks without it).

It certainly looked like Luka/Don and Ahim/Joe were the obvious pairings earlier in the show, but they seem to have been leaning kinda gay in an awesome way more recently with Joe/Marv, Luka/Ahim and Don/Gai.

So I finished watching abaranger.

Impressions: spoilers will be marked

At first the concept of another earth and super powered dinosaurs and evil aliens works. Again this is within context of the show. From the arrival of the evorians and the ground work of the conflicts the heroes face it some enjoyable. To be honest the olft and what not seemed rather simple and kinda boring. The characters aside from Asuka at first seemed rather flat and just went with the flow. I didn't sense much in the name plot push itself forward.

This started to change when we got more Asuka focused episodes.
Watching him trying his hardest to be an aid to the team despite not being able to henshin at first was pretty cool. Hell, it made for some good drama. This was even more prominent when he could henshin but his personal downfalls restricted his powers and he had to shake it off.
I didn't really like the talking dinos too much. As a cast they felt too goofy and a few times I felt they added to anything like brachio, he was cool.

The show didn't get more interesting until the arrival of abare killer. Mikoto's constant need to troll the others and more specifically Ryouga made the show seem like it turned into something different.
For that point onwards seeing Mikoto fight merely to get some form of excitement seemed illogical and downright evil. That's not to say he didn't do some evil stuff because he certainly did. As a villain/anti-hero/character I'd say he's tied with Asuka. Mikoto struggled when he found out his true destiny before me but he kept on fighting to find his own reasons. In the end he didn't let himself become a pawn in a game. So when it was game over it came in style.

Watch Shinkenger. Shinkenanon is making TV-N subs more tolerable, and the video's of a much better quality.

I need to watch some more Rescue Force. Tried out the first few episodes after Iwanaga turned up on OOO and it seemed like a fun show. Weird seeing him without the goatee, though.

A quick search seems to indicate that a few of them have complete HK subs. Other than that, I think it's just a handful of episodes here and there.
