Seems kinda weird to expect any kind of announcement out of those studios when so many of them barely just shipped their latest projects.
Santa Monica? God of War barely just came out.
Sucker Punch? Barely 2 years since GoT, and they were hard at work updating and bringing it to next gen.
Bluepoint, Housemarque? They shipped one of the first PS5 exclusives 2 years ago.
Bend? Yeah, probably working as a support studio after Days Gone flopped, sorry.
Naughty Dog? Also shipped a new game about 2 years ago and then released a remake of the previous one.
Guerrilla? Are you fucking mad, bro? 2 games and a giant expansion to one of them in the last year alone.
Chill the fuck out. Making video games takes a long time, you know. Don't worry, new games will come eventually. Touch grass in the meantime.
Nah, bruh. Sorry.
Bend is working on a new IP, was confirmed by the heads that left. They chose a new IP over DG2.
ND should have shown Factions 2. All this shit talking about how amazing it is coming along and how they totes can't wait to show us every few months has been ad nauseum. Hell, Druckmann said they were going to show something in 2023,
what more perfect of a damned time, than to show it just hot of the heals of their massively successful HBO series and at a show called PLAYSTATION SHOWCASE?
Bluepoint, I would expect to at least see an announcement since they did launch with the remake and have been teasing things since then.
The rest, fair enough and agreed.
Hell, there should have at least been SH2 gameplay for a game that has been bragged about being almost done.
Now with that said, do I think COVID impacted pipelines for a lot of them, sure, and it has been said in all industries, we would feel those impacts 2 to 3 years after the lockdowns. Thus, we are. But don't call it a "PlayStation Showcase" then if you're not willing to show things, even if a hair too early.
Give your loyal hardcore something to look forward to.
