Heroes Reborn coming in 2015!!

Does he basically turn into Jeff Goldblum's The Fly? I gave up that stupid show a few episodes into season 2. Season 1 was a fun time, but I could just tell something was wrong as soon as I started season 2.

He doesn't turn into a monster or anything, if I recall correctly, but he does wrap people up in cocoons!

Season 1 of this show had me so excited for its potential. Five Years Gone was just incredible, you felt like it was a preview of of the final season of the show. Company Man was a fantastic stand alone episode that really showed you the other side of Noah.

But Heroes then became a show about keeping its actors employed more than anything else. We have to keep Peter, Sylar, Hiro around...but because we overpowered them in Season 1, we need to de-power them or give them stupid sideplots to prevent them from interacting with the main characters. There was a new reason for Ali Larter to be in every season as well. And then that horrible decision to
brainwash Sylar into being Nathan
was the last straw.

Reborn can be a success if they avoid giving people insane powers like Peter/Sylar/Hiro and instead focus on the rest. And please, no Nikki/Jessica/Traci clone.

I get all the shit about season 2-3 and 4 being trash.

When I watched season 2 the first time, I thought it was really bad, but when I did rewatch it a year later, I thought it wasn't as bad as I think it was. Season 3 what half good, half bad. I haven't watch season 4 yet.

But still. For mem, Season 1 is one of the best season of any show ever and will forever be in my heart.

seriously, that title gives me nightmares about Rob Liefeld and his Captain America, which is possibly the worst comic book I've ever read, or best if you like to laugh

If they somehow got Tatiana Maslany, I'd be all for another clone.

As for the overpowered heroes, man, they nerfed the fuck out of Peter. The only other hero on TV I've seen get nerfed that badly was Bonnie Bennett on The Vampire Diaries.

If it makes anyone feel better, his appearance is listed as a "guest arc", so it doesn't sound like he'll have a substantial role in the new season.

In a season that's already short - 13 episodes - that doesn't mean much.

What happened there? Last season I watched was whatever one ended with the two Katherine's switching places. Oddly enough, that was the season with the guy from Heroes. And they cut off his fingers to get at a ring, or something?

She went from the most powerful person on the show to witch who can barely stand up against the vampires.

So I'm going to have to watch this since a friend from the High School I went to for exchange in Japan has been cast as one of the main characters (Kiki Sukezane playing Miko Otomo) but I remember being pretty bored of the show after the first season of the original run. Got my fingers crossed that this is gonna be a step up in quality.

Always wanted to get into this show should i watch season 1 and skip the rest? and then jump into this?

They're probably going to make this reboot as accessible as possible and you won't need any foreknowledge of the previous series to enjoy it. However, the first season was very good and I'd suggest you give it a watch if you can. It's a bit bloated and the plot meanders, but on the whole it's great and the ending is excellent. As someone else pointed out, there's an episode near the end called 'Five Years Later' which showed how awesome it could have become, but unfortunately the writer's strike fucked season 2 and the show never recovered.

They should have killed Sylar, so they could move on.

I liked the premise of Sylar
being the opposite of Peter, hunting others with superpowers but killing them to take their power while Peter just absorbs their power
. I have to admit that I thought it was cool at the end of season 2 when
he got his powers back (even though it was only telekinesis for some reason...?)
, but when he
became Peter's brother
it just became lame. I gave up about half way through season 3, and despite hearing that the fourth season was good, I could never muster the enthusiasm to go back and watch it again.

Parkman and Mohinder back? Yeah I'm out, I could maybe have tolerated season 1 Suresh but Parkman is literally the worst character ever written and acted in television, ever. Literally.

I'm joining the worried voices reacting to the recent cast additions of old faces. I agree with Noah because there had to be a bridge. The Haitian made sense as the sidekick. As for Hiro, you can never get enough Hiro so that's fine.

But Mohinder's purpose ran out before the end of the original series, let alone dragging him back into it for no apparent reason. I liked Parkman but I grew to absolutely despise that repetitive 'I'm reading minds and this is torturous' shot of his face they used every single time. His story and purpose wavered everywhere as well. I can't remember how his arc concluded but I feel no need to see him again.

The show needs to focus on a new cast. It needs to take just enough of the good bits from the original and establish something fresh and exciting. No awful, shitty filler episodes, less soppy character drama and better character stories. And a clear direction, however complex. I don't want characters being rebooted at the drop of a hat whenever the plot requires it.

I also hope they acknowledge the last scene of the original and really build the new series around the ramifications of the reveal. That scene was amazing and the best part of the show since season one.

Spoiler:
He wasn't really.
That was just the writers (and by extension Mama Petrelli) throwing shit at a wall.

In case anyone was wondering, here's where the returning characters left off:

HRG: Captured, along with Claire-Bear, by the the evil carnies. They get away though and help save civilians from the evil ringleader, who gets arrested with the help of Peter. Afterwards Claire, at the dismay of HRG, reveals her powers on the evening news.

No longer works for The Company. No powers.

The Haitian: Still has mind wipe powers. Still working for HRG.

Hiro: Recovered from his tumor just in time to help save a large group of civilians from their evil carnie ringleader, with the help of Ando. Afterwards they watch Claire reveal her powers on the news and then return home to Japan.

Still has his time/teleportation powers.

Parkman: Locks Peter and Sylar in a mind prison for 5 mind-years. When they get out (two episodes later) they convince him to help them take down the carnie ringleader by using his mind powers to tell the other carnies that their leader is evil. Afterwards he returns to his wife and son. He's now an NYPD detective.

Has a swathe of psychic abilities, including mind reading and mind control.

Mohinder: Builds an evil carnie finding compass for Noah and then returns to India.

After curing himself of whatever the fuck that insect shit was, he still possesses super strength and enhanced agility.

Hold the phone, when did Parkman go back to his wife? I JUST watched the finale last night and none of that happened. His part ended with him still in pain and in the house.

The second I see a cocoon, I'm out.

I got all of that off the wiki, so I don't know. I'm not gonna rewatch the series to find out lol.

So someone else is returning. Apparently he/she was a "real rebel." Could it be Claire? Or maybe Peter? God please be Peter with evolved powers. Or at least grab Claire for a brief cameo for
her death scene or some flashbacks to the time between Brave New World and the new season

it's obv micah :o he went by 'rebel' for a whole season, remember?

The show originally failed because they refused to kill off or get rid of characters. The remake is already failing because they want to bring everyone back again.

Yep they just confirmed it's Micah.

I forgot about him. I wouldn't mind Micah returning. From what I remember during his rebel tenure, he wasn't bad.

A majority of the Old cast isn't even part of the main lineup. It's like Girl Meets World where you have some vets as main characters while the rest appear here and there.

Tried re watching Heroes S1 last year. It has not aged well at all. Horrendous pacing, terrible writing. Acting is good, characters absolutely suck.

I only have one demand, that if they have some big showdown between two OP characters, show the fucking thing, don't just show two colours and the reaction of someone who is watching through a crack in the door.

I still don't know what Nathan was thinking. Like you can fly, you're going up against a guy with every superpower while your brother, who could have every superpower, now has only one at a time.

Heroes...

I liked the first season even though it was far from perfect (it was actually just about fun enough to endure). Second season was pretty bad as soon as it started, I don't think I finished it. Will wait for impressions from you guys.

Cool! He was always one of the more interesting, yet underutilized characters on the show.

btw

I kinda wish they kept that a secret. I remember how surprised uIwas when micah first came back in the middle of puberty. I would drop out of my chair if he just walked in screen now without me anticipating it. I think I'm gonna go on a blackout (except the trailer) now.

Gah, now you've got me thinking about all the shit that didn't make a lick of sense.

I really hope this a good reboot, the show has lots of potential, but they need to make sure they don't focus on OP characters or have some stupid crap like a garbage character run head first at an insanely OP character and just stab him through the chest like it's no big deal...

This isn't a reboot. It's a direct sequel that takes place some time after A Brave New World.

Has this been confirmed anywhere? My friend is playing a major character in this and she said it's a reboot.

I'll be more interested if this is a reboot, since I haven't seen any of the latter seasons of Heroes' initial run and don't really care to catch up on them since I've only heard bad things.

Me too, actually. That would have been an insane surprise.

I don't think any official word has been given, but a reboot would be really strange what with all of the returning characters.

IGN saw the trailer and their impressions were talking about the premise and it indicates that this takes place after Claire outted them to the world. It even talked about characters who we don't have back but were in the previous seasons.

That's a relief. Thanks!

Definitely not a reboot, takes place several years after season 4 leaves off. My guess is that she meant "reboot" by the fact that it's an entire new series with new characters. It will still connect to the old show with older characters returning and such.

I'm actually excited for this series as I loved the original series despite it's issues. It was such a fun ride. I even own the Blu-Ray sets. Hope it's good!

I guess I'm okay with this too. This is their chance to get it right, I just hope they grab it with both hands and do the concept at least some justice.

Yeah, I suppose so. May have just been a miscommunication. I do hope it's accessible to people who haven't seen all the prior seasons of Heroes at least.
