Heroes Reborn Superbowl Teaser

The writers' strike probably hurt the show quite a bit.

It hurt Season 2 a lot, but I think what really killed the show was the decision to make characters that were meant to only be around for one season to be around for the rest of the show, despite having all their storylines come to a conclusion already on Season 1. Heroes was meant to have a new cast each year (kinda like Japanese superhero shows), but instead we got a mess.

I was going to pose a question on whether or not we'd see Quinto back on TV.

Then I saw a commercial for Slap.

Would he do both? S1,S2 Sylar was an amazing villain - would love him to come back true to form

Did that strike last three seasons?

Of course not, but it created a bunch of crap hat had repercussions in further seasons.

I wonder if they would have stuck to this plan had the strike not occurred.

Yeah they had some interesting folks come into season two that could have made a good story but they just abandoned them. Girl that could watch anything and instantly learn the ability. Micah coming into his own. The Spanish chick who tried to escape with her brother. All totally abandoned either right after introduction or within a season. Micah came back later but it meant basically nothing. His ability could have really evolved into something incredible. Imagine him in today's world with that power? Crazy.

Not too hopeful about the return. I loved the last volume and thought that it fixed most of the problems of the series. The show shifted the focus to human drama rather than epic scenario. No apocalyptic scenario, no overpowered individuals (except for Sylas), and no need for characters to make bizarre choices (ok, it still happened, but much less) just to "up the tension level". However, I know that NBC will ignore all the improvements and do the same thing that fucked up the previous volumes, trying to repeat Volume 1.

I am excited but extremely apprehensive.

Luckily studios have been having success with super hero titles. Give it season 1 quality and I will watch it all.

Will watch for HRG. It will still suck though

There's no writer's strike that could potentially ruin this, so it'll most assuredly go back to the promise of season 1, right guys? Right??

Yeah, nerfing the shit out of Peter while Slyar was put into god mode was serious bullshit and Sylar shouldn't have survived the first season. But I do think it would've been better if they had a reboot or at least a soft one every season with new characters. But I guess the ratings and response to most of the characters was too strong and NBC didn't have the guts to let them go through with it.

Maybe it was the truncated second season but I totally forgot about it ran for four seasons until I checked a couple years back and only remembered the carny shit they did and thought that was part of season three.

it's time we be honest, season 1 already turned into some real shit towards the finale
That it did, but IDK if it's as bad as I remembered but it certainly dragged on way too much.

Yeah, they turned mimic girl into an epic fail even though her story was maybe the most interesting of the one, Ali Later should've stayed written out of the show
when Nikki was killed off
. Maya and her brother was lame though but she wasn't abandoned because she stuck around into the third season which I'm currently rewatching. What they did with Adam was total bullshit, like I can get they needed to trim the cast down and stuff like that but I don't know it just came off as cheap.

Micah should've totally been used to a greater degree and especially in this relaunch, he'd be ridiculously powerful now but still not overly so.

First one went to shit about halfway through season 2 (writer's strike). Never really recovered. Still watched it out of pure masochism until the dude with dirt magic showed up. Ugh.

For those who don't already know, Zachary Quintos has stated that he does not want to return to Heroes to reprise the role of Sylar. So no you almost certainly won't see him again.

Still I'm interested in seeing what they do with this new series as I actually enjoyed the original series.

So is this a sequel? Wonder how HRG will deal with things since its likely he's the only one back from the original cast.

I thought the visuals were cool in the beginning but then everything went to shit when HRG and Chuck appeared. Still, I'm planning on watching this. Can't be worse than season 3.

I really enjoyed the show until the finale of Season 1. It never recovered from that messy wrap up to a climax they had been building to all season long

Hyped, again!

Will Ali Larter be back? I liked Tracy Strauss and Niki Sanders, though it was as if they didn't know what to do with them.

I agree. They should have just kept it as the silhouette of the child walking in the snow and activating the Aurora. Would of been a much more powerful teaser in my opinion.

Congratulations you just summarized this entire show.

Bryan Fuller tweeted a link to the trailer. I wonder if he's involved at all as a writer or something. He could just be interested in seeing where it leads like the rest of us.

1. I hope this show is good.
2. I hope the ratings are steady enough that it doesn't quickly get canceled like lots of other good shows.

Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me 4 times, and i need a lobotomy after all those seasons past 1.

they roped me in with the dominican brother/sister combo but they say the devil would come in an attractive package..

my top 3 shows ever. so good.

Dont know what to feel about the cast not being there , I liked the majority of them.

sylar :(

At least Noah is in it, my 2nd favourite heroes character

It's a bizarre thing to reboot. One critically acclaimed season, one derided one and two more that trundled on with a devout but small following (most of which did so ironically who just liked complaining about it).

The concept isn't even that compelling for the budget, a very mystery box type show with no real payoff for me even in Season 1. Grrrrrrrr.
