Bitching for the sake of bitching is one thing...but Heroes has proven itself worthy of many valid criticisms...it has also proven it can be better, which makes the criticisms all the more valid. While I myself don't feel the need to "bail out"...yet...I can see why some would. There are just too many times per episode that invoke the reaction "Why couldn't/didn't 'X' person do 'Y' thing?"...certain actions and non-actions are just flat out insulting. Yes it's a comic book/sci-fi tv show...but it's not a damn Looney Toons cartoon. What next, Hiro and Daphne re-inacting the "Rabbit Season! Duck Season!" back&forth then switcharoo routine ala Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck?
It wouldn't be so bad if the flaws could be overlooked or excused due to the show's charm or some other "greater than the sum of its parts" quality...but the acting and moreso the dialog leave much to be desired.
Watching a show doesn't have to be a 100% love it or hate it thing...you can dislike lots of things and still watch it. Some things are nitpicks, but overall people just want a heaping dosage of LOGIC and CONSISTENCY injected into this show. It's not like the show started off "bad".
awesome episode...best of the season...i still get pissed when they keep forgetting that Sylar has that super hear ability. It just breaks it for me sometimes...this show drops bombs, every fuckin episode...crazy ish
You have to be fucking kidding. It's like everyone fell into some time warp where they never complained non-stop about Lost and every single aspect of that particular show.
I can't comprehend people complaining about comic-book style plots on a comic-book style show.
What I want to know is how Hiro & Ando contacted Daphne and why they wanted to join her group. What is the purpose of Daphne's gang other than to get the formulas ?
1. HRG had the most awesome move in the history of the show. It's too bad Bubbs didn't bite and take out Sylar for good.
2. Max Cherry.
3. Can someone explain to me what the fuck Peter's mother is supposed to be? Is she 100% evil or is she supposed to be a good semi-good character?
I mean, she "fed" that poor girl to Sylar. I'm still fucking pissed about that as it seemed totally out of her character and it had no benefit. Not only that, but if she is trying to get Sylar to control his hunger WHY THE FUCK IS SHE FEEDING HIM NEW VICTIMS!. Damn this show is frustrating.
She fed him that girl to proove she was his mother, basically to save herself and set him up for a path of redemption. Also , mohinder is the only one who knows syler has super hearing and he's a bit preocuppied with becoming a monster himself.
Much like how azula always lies in avatar , mrs petrelli always lies in heroes but the truth is slowly starting to come out. The only question that remains really is what power does
Not a bad episode but I don't blame the bitching. If they kill off Claire/Nikki I would love this show again. Both of those characters are dragged to hell, not to mention neither of them can act for shit.
I thought it was great! Good, enjoyable tv. A lot of you guys just like to play the game of figuring it all out and if it doesnt come to a conclusion that makes sense to you, you get angry .. which is weird, this is a show about people with superpowers for gods sake, and you want it to make sense?
Also, the characters in this series are interesting because they don't fit into one archetype, like, holy shit they actually react and do unexpected things like real people! Of course Claire changes her mind and is confused all the time about everything, shes a fucking teenager!
Characters that fit into one mold and stay in that mold all the time and only change their attitude when things make 100 percent sense is COMPLETELY unrealistic, how many times normal people make stupid mistakes and decisions simply because thats just the way life is? All the time. Why cant TV characters be like that? Why is that considered bad? I mean I get things like bad writing and bad acting, but all Im saying is that when a character does something you dont expect or does something that doesnt "fit the characters personality", thats not necessarily unrealistic at all, it happens all the time in real life.
Had some pretty cool spots, but others that were, "eh, wtf?"
+ HRG trying to get vortex dude to off Sylar.
+ Mr. Petrelli and Mrs. Petrelli facing off against each other with their respective gangs of supers could potentially be awesome.
- Hiro and Ando, really? That whole twist doesn't make any bloody sense. Hiro took longer deciding whether or not he should kill Sylar, for crap's sake.
The more I watch this, the more I get confused. I have the feeling they're working towards a bigger confrontation and everything, but so much shit is happening in every single episode. It feels like they're rushing through everything and have no feel for a good pace anymore.
Actually I don't remember that. But now that you mention it, it makes what she just did make allot more sense.

My guess on the ando thing is that hero may in fact go against his own promise to never travel to the past again or just as easily simply give ando some of adams blood .
I mean, given that he didn't die from a blow to the head , getting adams blood would revive him from the dead pretty easily right ?
This is the type of crap that keeps me into the show though, it doesn't nessecarilly always play out like you expect good or bad but it's interesting for me to see how they get answers for everything.
The Hiro Ando thing is probably just scheme done by them to get into the group. The whole episode they had been using Hiro's ability real time and not showing what he does when he freezes time, see Hiro and Adam in the beginning of the episode. Hiro could have easily frozen time and put in a fake blood packet and punctured it. If they showed that this episode then it wouldn't be an omg he killed Ando moment, and they wouldn't be able to come back and show you it was just a trick.
So has Peter stopped auto absorbing powers or what. He got Sylars telekeniss power back in season 1 (since he never meant the dude Sylar stole it from), yet never got the power to "see how things work" and get the hunger? Plot hole city.
Speaking of Peter (both of em). On their trip to the future, future Peter is worried about being seen and eventually gets killed cuz he is, but obviously must have forgotten that both of them can fucking turn invisible.
Hiro better have stopped time and planned some shit out, or what he did is one of the stupidest things in this show yet, and there has been a lot of stupid.
The sad thing is that you can go on and on. The surprising thing about this show is that it kicks its fans in the face, who remember everything from season 1 and 2 and know the characters and their powers well. Its too bad because most of the characters are just good enough to keep people watching anyway, so its like they dont care about the poor writing and lack of consistency

The really sad thing is that people are still acting surprised about how this show works after watching more than two episodes. Plot holes, inconsistent use of powers, bad acting, shoddy writing, it's all part of the show and has been since the start. It's still entertaining in a b-movie kind of way though, and reading people complaining about it is always fun.
Yeah, someone needs to PM a mod & ask them to start banning people who say they will never watch another episode & then start bitching & ranting in next weeks thread.
Great episode this week. I liked Sylar and Peter the most.
Hiro in the graveyard was very funny, Adam callin him "a japanese nazi".
The bartender knocking Hiro out was very predictable, you know that's the only way Adam could get away from Hiro. Hiro and Ando acknowledge that they aren't being very good heroes. Hiro kills Ando which is so obviously planned. Hiro is going into the right direction, the lion's den or the badguys's lair.
Noah and Claire's storyline was very dull, simply a rehash again. And i gotta wonder, that was a level 5 prisoner, i mean sure his power was awesome, but he killed by accident. You would think that they would atleast try to get him to work for them.
Claire's biological mother going to confront the puppet-guy and then getting herself captured? Seriously, she knew what he could do, yet still gets captured, i hope he has lots of fun with her before next weeks episode.
I'm also pretty bored with Noah, he's a very grey character, definitely not good. In the first season he was willing to kill a little girl that could track them. Now, he forces a man that doesn't want to kill, to kill his partner. And everytime he uses the love he has for his daugther as excuse, as if that gives him a special pass to do everything.
Peter's journey seems very much intune with what came before. He is one of the most powerful heroes but that doesn't mean that he can easily harness his great power.
Not to mention his powers are based on feelings, he's an empath, feelings can be very volitale.
Him taking on Sylar's power was a huge risk, or as his mother put it, a sacrifice he was willing to make. I do agree that that future was very dangerous, we have already seen humans misusing their powers and a good and evil camp. If everybody could have powers it would be total chaos. I really hope that he gets control over his powers.
Sylar is also very much an enigma, 1st season i didn't really care for the character, typical bad guy yet you never quite understood why he was so evil. We did get to see that he wanted to be special and not just a simple watch-maker. Second season was a depowerd Sylar who proved to be just as deadly, i mean making out with a girl while her twin-brother is dying on the floor next to you, that's just badass.
Season3 explains Sylar's power further, and it makes sense, he always seemed to have this addiction of wanting more powers. His mother can't be trusted but what she does she say makes sense. Future Gabriel hadn't lost his powers but he could control them, control the hunger for the love he had for his child, i really want to know who the mother of said boy was.
I believe he can control it as can Peter, but Sylar would need something pure and good to keep him in line.
I don't think Ma Petrelli is good nor really evil. She does seem to have done lots of evil in her life but this also may be in part because of the bad crowd she hanged with and as a result has a very mixed moral-compass.
The real bigbad seems to be daddy Petrelli.
As the preview for the next episode suggests, they are building up a superhero army which mostly consists of bad guys, Parkman could be redeemed in the end. The season seems to be going in that direction, the Petrelli sons(especially Peter and Sylar who are the most powerful heroes.) would have to work together to stop the bad guys
he used HIS POWERS to make everyone else THINK HE IS STILL TRAPPED!!!!
as for getting out of his son's trap, come on, how long do you think that would hold him? i mean his son is an amateur, and he got out of his father's trap...
It seems like The Company and Mrs. Petrelli are those who want to hunt and destroy mutant while Mr. Petrelli and his crew is the Magneto and brotherhood of villains. I don't htink there is an X-men in this situation.
To the people that are complaining about the complaining:
Really? Really? The show, at this stage, is trainwreck television. We watch just to see how many plot holes they can fit into a 40 minute show. Of course, I think it's still enjoyable for this reason and the tiny moments of brilliance everytime Sylar and Noah are in the same scene, but all in all the show is a complete farce.
They had a real good chance to get rid of some unkillable characters too, with black hole man.

Actually, the girls ability was to know the history of anything she touches. Sylar now has this ability. When he touched Claire, he says he knew how much pain he caused her and he was sorry.
I believe this ability is turning into a plot device for the eventual redemption of Sylar, as maybe it will allow him to empathize with his victims if he understands what he pain he causes them.
Too early to know, but it is my theory. Sylar's mother may have had the same thought.
When i touched your hand, I felt the pain you felt"
Yes, but Speedster chick sure made a quick swerve in allegiances since Hiro's time stop doesn't effect her. Otherwise we once again create a new plot hole. And you'd think Papa Parkman would have noticed what she did since he freely enters these people's minds.
Decent episode, I actually liked vortex man, and return of daddy parkman was a surprise, but hero + ando will obviously be remedied later...i wish ali larter would just get off the show...
oh, sorry, this is gaf, im supposed to be pointing out some wtf moments, and then put 'REALLY?' 3 or 4 times during the post to show how much better I am than the show
She "fed" Sylar the girl to give him a conscience, as a way to control him. He can see an object/person's history when he touches them. When he touched Claire's hand he sensed her past, her love for her father, her fear and frustrations. He understood her. I think this is how they are going to try and redeem Sylar.

Ok I'm sorry but Heroes is just lost on me, this is coming from someone who thought season 2 was awesome and has really never given up on any show (and probably won't on this, just cuz I have hope) but this is getting a little ridiculous, the characters that have been built up in the past two seasons are just given completely new personalities with no transition whatsoever just to fit into plot points.
It does have its ups like more powers are being used, a crazy amounts of twists and turns, etc.
But much of the stuff that should technically have me excited is being excecuted horribly and just doesn't get me excited, Sylar being part of the petrellis... the Ando thing... etc etc, everything's just being all jumbled and it doesn't help that I just don't give a crap about any of the characters because why should I when they completely throw character development out of the window for the fuck of it.
Sorry for even posting this I know how annoying it is when someone posts in a thread of a show you like and poops all over it, but I had to get it off my chest.
I actually liked this episode, one of the best of the season so far IMO. It introduced some interesting plot points (Mr. P still alive, Maury's return, ect.) and some intreresting new characters (Too bad Black Hole dude killed himself so quick). I seriously don't understand all the bitching though, epsecially from the people who complain routinely every week. By now, you should know what to expect from this show, and even then, why keep watching if your going to keep being disappointed? I guess GAF needs something to bitch at or it just wouldn't be the same..
:lol @ the puppet dude and Meredith though. How stupid would you have to be willingly walk into someone's house who you know can control your movements? First thing I thought of when I saw him was DonQuixote DoFlamingo :lol
Which also begs the question 'Is Hiro's power localized?' When Hiro freezes time, is it worldwide? Would she have noticed a difference in Paris if he used it to do something stupid and worthless in Tokyo?
