Too many Favorites McBacon. ;)

Haha, well new games just pop up in "un-installed", so I chuck all the games into favourites so I can see what Valve has dropped off this week.

Not entirely sure why I bought the Deus Ex games as I already have the physical copies, I also have no idea why Half-Life 2 or Audiosurf are stuck on Updating/Downloading but they play fine anyways. I plan on getting the Orange Box when I upgrade my PC soon but until then the 360 version will suffice.

I just got Portal this past Friday. Late and obvious, I'll admit, but it is a great, great game. I was apprehensive but it ended up being even better than I had imagined.

What do you guys suggest I add to that list? I picked up CoH and the expansion pack since then. I also have STALKER and The Witcher in hard copy. I'm looking for something different. Maybe an RPG (the wither I know) or maybe a flight game?

Hey hows that CivIV+Broken Swords pack? Good games?

Just got steam a little over a month ago. CoD4 would have been on steam if it wasn't for that sale at CC. :p

Also, every time I start steam up, Audiosurf shows up as 0% download and I have to re-download it every time. Not a deal breaker, but it does get annoying seeing that 0% every time. Is that normal?

yeah, its normal sometimes as my Titan Quest: Immortal Throne has been sitting at "0% updating" for a day or so now....

It might be because there have been patches the past 2 days for Audiosurf.

so just to reiterate the OP

How do most of you feel about Steam right now?

Is it mostly, I'll buy it on Steam first if its available....or I'll only use Steam if I have too?

Anyone here repurchased something just because it showed up on Steam eventually, even though you have a box copy prior?

If I had a choice, I want to buy it on Steam. I don't want to deal with CD/DVD security checks, damaging the DC or DVD disk, I will miss the packaging though, but the convenience and auto update of software wins for me. I have repurchased a few games that I have the DC/DVD for I wont have to deal with what I mention before. I love COD4 though steam. Only compliant I have is not enough other devs using it (ie Mass Effect... EA problem there) and it is a little buggy for me on Vista64, works fine on XP64 (same PC, dual boot).

At this point, if a game's not on Steam, I'm significantly less likely to buy it.
I regret not waiting and getting the Steam version of some things, like Sam & Max Season 1 and Company of Heroes.

I never want to have to deal with finding disks and restarting my game for patching ever again. There's quite a few games I simply cannot play because I've moved away from home and my disks are still sitting in my room back there... Or conversely, because I forgot the disks at my house at school before I came home for the summer.

And my friends can't ask to borrow them and lose them. Or scratch them.
And when I reformat my computer, I can just redownload (or, copy my Steam folder onto an external drive).

Thanks for your responses, Slavik and Troublemaker

....as I said, I'm currently debating with myself whether or not to make Steam my primary means of purchasing software

Nice thread. After seeing this, I think I'll pick up The Longest Journey on Steam. Always wanted to play that and I love the idea of having everything in Steam.

Need to see if Company of Heroes will play on my PC and Audiosurf and the Keen pack are tempting me.

Few of those are shortcuts.

Oh and HL1 is preloaded but not owned. I got HL: Source in a package before so it's pointless buying it again.

This thread reminds me about how much of a failure Sin Episodes was. I played through it before they patched the adaptable AI, when it was bugged the computer would keep getting harder if you lived, but not easier if you died. By the end it took like 15 min to get through each 15 sec chunk.

Aside from that, the game was still disappointing, and I don't think we'll ever see how it ends. =( Episodic content FTL.

Also, Vigil: Blood Bitterness was a horrible game imo.

I really like steam overall. I may post my screen when I leave work.
