I also really need this feature and Hope next firmware has it.
I got one of these...
So it must be possible to track on a system level. I'm hopeful that they'll stealth add this stuff into a future stability update.
You fucking framed it?

I was very disappointed when I got my Vita that it didn't have anything similar to the 3DS's activity log. The feature should be standard, it is awesome.
An activity log for the console itself is a great idea. Maybe tweet your idea to @Toshimasa_Aoki? You could also suggest it here: http://share.blog.us.playstation.com/
The 3DS Activity Log should be standard in every game console.
And makes you question your life choices when you see you've played over 200 hours of Pokémon Shuffle![]()
Yep, I agree. Much more detailed than Steam's implementation, and I wouldn't mind seeing it everywhere. Date of first and last time played, times launched, average length of play sessions (you could calculate this yourself, but why should you when the app does it for you?) and a daily summary of everything you played; the 3DS Activity Log has it all.The 3DS Activity Log should be standard in every game console.
This. Its simple and provides every information you need about your gaming habits
On top of those, they could show, for example, how long it took to reach certain bosses/areas, how many times it took to beat a boss, and stats about the usage of weapons. That would be nice information to have about something like Bloodborne, and to compare the info with your PSN friends.

Steam is great for this - it gives me an opportunity to view my play-history and see that I spent, say, 23 hours on Tomb Raider back in 2013. It's a minor thing, but it gives me something tangible to look at. Funnily enough I don't care about achievements - just the playtime.
Those are per game stats. Lots of games keep tracks of stats like how many miles driven in GTA V or how many terminal hacked in Watch_dog. It's all meaningless if you generalized it to all games.
Meh, pointless. I can totally live without it.
Its in the news feed your activity on Ps4, you can also see what friends have most played that day and what trophies they got etc.
Not that anybody gives a damn about this stuff and hopefully Sony are smart enough to see that.
Hopefully Sony will continue to optimise the tools and OS where we can eek out that maximum performance for games, as third party games are getting more and more demanding. Nintendo is living in the past.
Sony should focus on
1# game and OS performance
2# server and PSN performance
has sony ever mentioned plans to implement this feature?
I'd rather get more stability.
?It's all we need, really. I'd rather incrimentally, infinitely increasing stability than some feature creep bullshit.
I'm not suprised Nintendo has these features, but more as a parental control "Little Johnny has spent HOW LONG on Pokemon x/y/z!!".
It would be a great thing to have and it make's sense if not for the user base but for Sony to help prioritise targeted advertising of dlc etc.
