Hey Sony... where is our PS4 Activity Log?

Yeah the 3DS Activity Log is great and the Wii U one was a disappointing downgrade.

Does the Xbox One track time when your Xbox is set for "Instant on" and the game is suspended? Or it only while the game is actually active? If you jump out of the game to go back to the dashboard, is time still being tracked?

The PS4 OS/UI is just as bland as it was on PS3.

So, not bad then, considering that XMB was awesome. There are some minor things I'd like to be added, but otherwise the UI works very well. It's fast and easy to find whatever you want, and takes no time to get playing.

Thank god the PS4 doesn't have it. I don't need need another tool to help me obsess over numbers anymore than I already do.

Yeah. It's terrifying when I'm poring over numbers in the 3DS game tracking app and notice that I've spent over 40 hours in that app. That's a lot of damn time.

I never paid attention to stuff like that because the numbers lie in the things that track it because of things you may do.

i.e. Steam saying I played a certain game for 100 hours when about 75 of those are from me falling asleep while playing and leaving it running in the background.

If you're the kind of person like me who cares about those numbers you simply never let that happen, and on the off chance that it does you mark it down in your own personal excel sheet of corrections.

I'm sick, I need help

I really don't care about this at all.

The What's New section on the PS4 tells me everything I would care to look at anyways. Pictures I uploaded or Trophies I earned and what other people did too.

So it basically already has this, but less focused on how much time I wasted specifically on this day or last :)

Ya the Activity Log is pretty darn great for seeing how long you've played in games which don't track time in-game. I'd have never known I put over 100 hours into Harvest Moon if not for it!

Wish Nintendo could fix the one "issue" with it, that being that if ya got a game booted for over 7 days the log kinda blanks those days an time out.

The 3DS Activity Log should be standard in every game console.
This!

...sans the times booted & average play time tracker... @_@ /ocd

This was one of my most wanted features before the PS4 came out. I was really disappointed when I got one and it was nowhere to be found.

People was worried about NSA Surveillance at the beginning of the console cycle now we want companies to keep track of everything we do?

You ask for an activity thread but the OP boils down to only demanding basically a system level playtime stat...

I would like to have that but let's not pretend because this stat is missing that the PS4 has no activity logs (that also may pack certain features missing in the other platforms).

- What's New gives you a feed of your and your friend's stuff like played games, earned trophies, special stuff done in games/mp matches, uploaded screenshots/videos.
You can like and comment on all of this as well.

- You can see only your activity by checking your profile and go to recent activities (or check for a specific friend/person you follow etc.)
- Alternatively you can see the activity of you and your friends per game by highlighting one of your games.

(and then there's the trophy stuff obviously, especially the rarity percentage for each trophy is quite neat to check)

It seems they actually track your played hours internally (at least while you're online?) so maybe it will be implemented. Though I wonder if Suspend/Resume functionality wouldn't turn those numbers meaningless. When I have a game suspended PSN will e.g. show me playing that game even though I'm watching a movie in the Media app.

I prefer when games just have it themselves. This would never work for me since I spend about an hour actually playing the game I have running for 3 hours. Unless it doesn't track it when you've paused.

But I definitely wouldn't mind having it.

I agree with everyone who likes the 3ds play log. If Sony ever makes one I'd like it modeled after that. I totally love seeing my own stats haha

I can live without Trophies and Achievements but it's still something that shouldn't be half-assed.

But it's not half-assed, it doesn't exist. There's a difference, no?

I used to look at it on the Wii but to be honest I never thought it was anything special or even interesting. For reference: I don't care about trophies or achievements either.
I'm still waiting on a way to organize our download list on the website.
Now this is an example of something that's half-assed.

We should be able to sort/filter/search our download history.

Sort by: name, date, size, download type (game, demo, dlc, patch, etc).
Filter/Search by: name, date range, size range, download type (same as above).

How hard can it be to add a couple of search fields/dropdowns and update your download history API to work with those?

Fix this shit Guerrilla.

I dont know why they dont look at Steam and copy some of their features. Valve isnt going to sue them.

I bet they have like one programmer doing all the features.

I'd love to have an activity log, and stats like http://psnprofiles.com/ has.

.

Man this is amazing.
Going to look mine.

I'm with OP. I love knowing stats about my games. Unfortunately, the second Sony started winning NPD every month they stopped giving a shit about implementing interesting features and are just doing the bare minimum to keep customers (moderately) happy.

Yeah, I really do love this feature on the 3DS, Wii U, Wii, and Steam. It's kind of disappointing that the PS4 doesn't have it, but I'm not too concerned over it.

Oh god this annoys me so much, especially with games that I reset constantly because I fucked up (see Fire Emblem Awakening)
