So who is going to man the thread since MHK is gone? Any volunteers? Must have an insatiable love for all things Kojima and Metal Gear.

I’m willing to bet MHK will come back at some point. Admittedly I don’t even know why he got banned this time.

I’m happy to share anything new I find about Kojima and Metal Gear, but I’m not sure I‘m ready to commit to leading the thread.

He was permanently banned because he requested to be, its that simple.

No need to lead but please lets keep the thread alive in his memory!

Leave it to me!

Nevertheless, I shall be waiting for MHK's return.

I hope he returns one day. The guy seemed very passionate, witty and loved this place. At least he's focusing on himself.

I'm happy to help keep this thread alive. I actually could see myself returning to MGS V eventually, it is sitting in my library waiting for me. Death Stranding is something I still need to pick up, but loved how unique it is.

I'm enjoying MGS V a lot at the moment! I never felt as tense -- and even scared -- in other games. The missions can be quite challenging, they require patience and calculated risk-taking.
Now might be a good time to ask: what's the exact meaning of this meme? I know I used it myself before but I'm never sure I truly GETTT IIITTT

No clue TBH, it was just something MHK used to say, I never knew if there was a story behind it.

It's definitely very tense. I found the opening a tad long, but the more I think about it, I get new found appreciation It was very tense, cinematic and engrossing. I had a bit of difficulty following along but I'm not as knowledgeable about MGS lore, I just dig the gameplay and stealth mechanics.

I imagine when I give the game a proper go, I'll love it. I'm tempted to do some research beforehand on past games again to appreciate it more. Might be a good idea when the time comes.

Even when you're familiar with the MGS lore, V is a whole another beast. It's a lot more cryptic than other MGS games. The YouTuber Futurasound Productions has dedicated entire videos to deciphering what's going on in MGS V.

If you need a refresher on what happened in previous MGS games, he has great videos as well:

Glad this thread was bumped.

I literally found MGS 4 yesterday in my house, with a few other PS3 games (Mercenaries 2, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Modern Warfare 2). I had totally forgot about them. Part of me wants to boot up a PS3 to play it. Man, that shit takes me back.

Although I do remember this game had super long cutscenes, probably why I never finished it. This would probably be one of the best games to play again, as it has likely aged better than most PS3 games. It looked really good for its time.

I never got around to play PS3 games, if I could MGS4 would be a top pick along with MGR Revengeance and FFXIII.

I don't remember if I shared this video before or not, but here Futurasound Productions explains the technical and mechanical prowess of MGS4 along with the context the game was made in:

Sad that the PS5 won't have an MGS game (aside from a hypotethical remake), the series are truly killer apps and system sellers.

Series X really needs a Metal Gear Solid V update. It's still 900p resolution.

The thing is, I haven't played V on Xbox, so the idea of starting the game over with no equipment or money is really appealing. Once you acquire too much, the game becomes too easy. Anyone else still mourning the fact that there were only a small handful of "subsistence" missions? Those were the best ones imo.
