Hideo Kojima gives more info about new project

SolVanderlyn

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
From coming up with an idea to assembling a team, you really need about a year to prep, he explained. “Currently, we have a webpage and a logo and are in a temporary workspace.” Setting up the basic studio infrastructure takes time, and Kojima Productions is still in its hiring and setting up shop phase. That doesn’t mean Kojima has ceased creating.

Famitsu asked if he had come up with a design plan for his game. “It’s a great game,” Kojima replied. “Currently,” he continued, “I’m coming up with the plot, the characters and the game system and whatnot. Since there are substantially new elements [in the game concept], we have to test and try things out. It’s not like I’m just thinking about this in my head. While we’re testing things, I’m having Shinkawa draw characters and rough illustrations.

Seems like a whole lot of almost-nothing, but it's... something. Interesting to note is that he mentions not having a game engine yet. Is he going to develop a new one again??

He writes and directs his own AAA game and he's also designing the gameplay. A true legendary game developer.

As far as I am concerned, he has not released a truly good game since MGS3, so I'll be waiting for more information, gameplay, etc.

Sorry Koji, MGS4 and MGS5 left me disappointed. GZ was nice, but it was more like a demo.

yeah but by how much? isn't KojiPro still independent?

They're backing this particular project, so they're probably paying for most of it? They'll be publishing it on Playstation platforms, and it's a console exclusive for Playstation, while KojiPro gets to publish it digitally on PC.

Release a barebones and under-supported multiplayer only shooter to a limited userbase crippled by Xbox exclusivity on console and Origin exclusivity on PC?

At least they released it.

I dont see how it was under-supported, considering they kept releasing free content after launch. At its core the game was great, the issues with playerbase were unfortunate and partly the publishers/funders were to blame.

we are steering off topic here

2 threads in as many days... Is he overhyping his non existant game or are we just getting a disproportionate amount of representation on GAF?

(That's not a complaint at either OP, just wondering if it's a coincidence or Kojima is about to Romero himself)

Why is this coming to PC if Sony is paying for it ? Sony makes their money from software that comes to their platform. Are they getting a share of the profit from pc as well ?

Didn't we have this thread already? Might have been a different interview but he is saying the same thing. They don't even have a proper office yet. This is waaaay out.

Expecting this to be a 2020 release on PS4K/PS5/PC. It's Kojima so this will be good but no need to dive into any hype at this point.
