Hideo Kojima gives more info about new project

This is pretty funny, really. So: "I’m coming up with the plot, the characters and the game system and whatnot." BUT, it's a "Great game."

Maybe something was lost in translation, or maybe Kojima's vision is so profound (confusing and convoluted you lesser-minded people will think), he can peer into the future and see his own final product. ;)

I'm sure the game WILL end up being worth it, and I can't wait for some type of update at least within the next year
(a project name prototype).

What I want from him: A buddy-cop game, set in a cyberpunk future, with an 80 action movie plot. Basically, Policenauts as a AAA action game.

5 years from now people will be comparing him to Molyneux because he said his game was great, but it was actually only pretty good.

Why is this coming to PC if Sony is paying for it ? Sony makes their money from software that comes to their platform. Are they getting a share of the profit from pc as well ?
Considering theyre publishing this on PC also, they get money for every copy sold there. As to why its on the PC in the first place? No clue.

I like these small pieces of info, and hope we can get some steady news on the developement on this "great" game.

I mean, I hope it ends up being good, but come on.

If Hideo says it's a "great game", I have no reason to doubt him.

Yeah he doesn't have a history of deceiving the players or anything so we should absolutely trust him.

Jokes aside, it'll be a looonngg while before we hear anything concrete about his new great game.

The probably aren't worried about any PC gamers eating into their PS4 sales I guess? Musn't see it as a competition or is happy to dip their fingers on Steam as well.

The same thing happened with Street Fighter V.

If he goes with a 3rd party engine like UE4, he could possibly hammer out a new game in 2-3 years at the earliest, and I feel that is VERY generous... considering he is just now starting to build his company.

If he aims to make a new engine, as ambitious or more so than Fox engine was, you might as well add another 1-2 years on top of that... depending on how much he can leverage past experience developing the Fox engine.

We won't see anything from him within the next 2 years, for certain. :(

And the closer he approaches the 3 year mark, the more likely it may end up being a Next or at least Cross-Gen game.

I look forward to the teaser video from Kojima at PSX this year and then the long 3-4 year wait for the game to come out.

Glad he's working on what he wants. I just hope that it's both good and he's got someone on his team to help reign him in and set some time frame and budget limits.

How old is Kojima btw, dude looks really young in this picture.
http://www.metalgearinformer.com/?p=26649 facial hair aside he looks good for his age.

On-topic: curious to see what kind of game he's going to awe us with.

He's 52.

Yeah he looks great for his age, look at his hands, like a teenager and look at his face, dat soft skin like a baby.

After everything he went through it's so awesome to see this man being so happy.

You deserve it boss!

He's not making a new engine. He mentioned that he was looking at UE4 but nothing is set in stone.

is he going to use the Frostbite engine for his new game?

Hmmm....

I don't want to sound negative, but every time I open up my twitter, I see him flying to numerous places, meeting people and drinking beer. I know it is important for him to meet more people in the industry and to see if any studios doing any creative things, but this really make me question if he is really creating something when he has all these visits and flights.

I know that there are people who are good at fitting all kinds of things in their life while still producing good stuff, but somehow I son't know if Kojima, superficially speaking, is really taking his time to create and produce something. This interview further consolidates my belief that his game will not come out within a few years.

Of course, these all can be false. Social networking sites are full of happy things for people to show off. Kojima could be very hard working to make his next game, though we cannot find any traces from his twitter.

If there's one person whom you don't have to worry about being a hard worker it's Kojima, the dude went straight to work on building a new company and game after leaving Konami instead of taking a vacation after MGSV.
