Hiding the Mouse Cursor in Select Games?

SOLDIER

Member
One of my biggest pet peeves when playing PC games with a controller is when the mouse cursor still appears, either permanently or when navigating the in-game menus.

I know there are various methods to dealing with this, like using AutoHideMouseCursor, but I wanted to see if there was a method for turning off the mouse cursor for SELECT games. The problem with AutoHideMouseCursor is that it disables the cursor for every game, which can cause crash issues for titles like Arkham Origins. I want to find out if there's a program that only activates with the games I want to have the mouse cursor disabled.

Suggestions are appreciated.

One of my biggest PC gaming pet peeves...I'll be watching this thread closely.

Yeah but for us couch PC gamers it can be a real drag.

A real stand up and drag, in my case. It's a pain having to get off my bed, move to my PC and mouse the cursor away every time. And as mentioned before, I can't leave AutoHideMouseCursor on at all times since it kills other games.

Yeah it happens way to often and is a real pain. It's honestly the number 1 reason I use a DS4 pad instead of a 360 one nowadays, swipe that cursor off the screen using the touchpad.

Steam controller or a DS4 (touchpad can control mouse pointer) fixes this.

Yeah I have a Steam Controller but just cannot wrap my head around it....we use 360 pads.

BTW, OP, be sure to check out Controller Companion on Steam...well worth the couple bucks. It helps a bit to solve the problem and even shuts a 360 pad off after shutting down the PC too. :)

It's shitty and I wonder how much dev time is actually needed to implement auto detect for KB/M and Gamepad swap mid game that it doesn't make it often for release.

Dragon's Dogma is a recent old port to PC to my surprise work perfectly between KB/M and gamepad.

I hate console ports that do that shit even though there's no mouse input in the game.

GODDAMMIT MEGA MAN LEGACY COLLECTION QUIT IT

I have controller companion, but it lacks a few versatile customizations. I could get around it to create something to move the mouse cursor away, but I still wish I could just auto-hide it for select games.

Make an Xpadder (or similar program) profile where you can move the cursor with one of the analog sticks but only while holding down a certain rarely used controller button.
