High on Life out on PSN

As much as I wanted to root for it, it's a bad game. Plays bad, runs bad, mission design is bad, and the nonstop chatter is worse than Forspoken.

Damn good game. Loved the hell out of it when I bought a month of gamepass to play it. Might just pick it up on PS5 now instead of Xbox.

If you don't like the humor then skip the game entirely.

Is the game still fun if I play it muted?
If you play this you should play it because you enjoy the humor and 'wtf-moments' imo.

The game itself is OK with a bit of an old-school shooter feel and some fun guns and boss battles. But the humor is a big part of why I enjoyed it.

Some games are just mindless fun, Nothing wrong with AA games, I miss the AA game era where a game wasnt great it was just fun.
I remember games like that, because they're the kind of games you'd rent out for a weekend back in the game rental days, and you'd be disappointed the whole weekend at having to play some piece of shit instead of something actually good

there really is no greater insult

I dont think its an insult tbh, gamepass is the place where first party games will end up day 1, if it breeds more developers to take chances on AA games and dump them on gamepass thats a win imo, the industry needs more of those games IMO. And thats why the Act deal is so important to MS. Gives them even more developers to do just that

Tons of AA games were good not great, nothing wrong with that, not everything has to be cinematic 60 hour experiences. games like Fist of the northstar kens rage, splatterhouse, Asuras Wrath, Mad Max etc

Thats more on you, that you picked shitty games to rent tbh

for me, it is a better game than Stray and Callisto Protocol. So I look forward for the day for these crappier games to hit on game pass ( I know stray was in ps plus but not anymore)

if u like rick and morty humour, which I do, dialogue and story is simply mindless fun, and gameplay never gets stale with the pacing of added weapons. it has also has a satisfying combat and together, it's a decent game that I could shell out 30 bucks if not for game pass

It's pretty simple really, if you like Rick & Morty then you will like this, if you love Rick & Morty then you will love this, if you don't like Rick & Morty, then you are dead inside.

I had a great time playing through it and all the secrets and Easter eggs were great, especially the final one about the item chests, that made me lol.

It's not an unlimited budget AAA game tho so maybe it should've stuck to Xbox/PC

It's not a terrible game mechanically speaking, but they REALLY want you to find it funny. I had to turn it off after about an hour, irritating as fuck.
Also, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is similar.
Yeah true, but that game is actually charming and amusing rather than brash and obnoxious.

It's the epitome of bad.

If the humor doesn't land for you (which if you're over 30 it shouldn't), then all you're left with is a generic fps with awful controls.

So what happens if it lands for you?
Humor is subjective, and I'm not sure where you're going with the age cap.

I feel sorry for the soul of anyone who doesn't find at least one good joke in the game.

I really liked it and will probably buy the DLC.
Their loss 🤷‍♂️. I can see how it's not for everyone. I think just that video has about 12 different hilarious subtle jokes in it. I still think it's the best comedy video game ever made, and nothing else is even remotely close. I don't need people on here to validate it for me. I was just trying to toss out a recommendation for people.

One of my favourite games last year.

Gameplay is basic but more than does the job.

The real fun is the humour if you can get into it.

Thanks. I'll make sure to skip it.

I'm not touching a game that Colteastwood has been hyping up.

Nah I'm good, they can keep it.

This is actually a really great AA game. Sadly there are way too few which fall between the AAA blockbusters and the indy category. People really shouldn't miss out on this one just because they are salty they had to wait a few months.

Doesn't necessarily have to do with console warring. The game was very divisive at launch. There's a reason why it's at such a Metacritic level.

Most of its quality is wrapped up in its humor, and that's subjective.

I mean you are right but they cant be serious asking fullprice foe a game a year later while giving it on a sub a year earlier and 10 bucks cheaper on steam.

Pc game prices are often cheaper than on console, so that's not unusual. Why they think it's a 60$ game is anyone's guess. I think it would be better prices as a 40$ game. If Sony wanted to have it on their sub, I'm sure a deal could have been made. Maybe after it leaves Game Pass.
Btw. the game was released in December, so the release on other platforms was not a year earlier.
