Mahut is a pussy who should lose the match. Isner wanted to play on and looked so disappointed they didn't.
Mahut is a genius.

This is going to make the nightly news around the world. He's going to be world famous by tomorrow morning.

it's 9PM, i think. it prolly really is hard to see the ball.

It is really dark now. I can't blame mahut at all for wating to stop, though I am shocked Isner wanted to continue, he looks depressed and completely broken.

Isner got within match point, that's why Mahut tried successfully to delay play. He knew his ass was finished if they played on. That's why Mahut was all smiles in that interview and Isner looked like he had his heart ripped out.

Isner doesn't need to see, his serve is automatic. Mahut, on the other hand, was starting to make errors.

As long as one or both of them get to the century mark there is pretty much nothing left to be accomplished in this game.

True, the errors were starting to creep in.

McEnroe just brought up a good point. If Mahut/Isner finish the match tomorrow in about 4 games or so, they'd have the rest of the day off. He doesn't believe Mahut is canny enough to deliberately stop the match to ensure he doesn't play tomorrow, but you never know.

Who am I kidding, this match is gonna take all day.

Well tennis just got a shitload of new fans. So many people excited over it all of a sudden. :lol

But good lord, I don't know how they can even stand. I'm ready to drop dead after 2 hours of play.

:lol :lol Yess, we will begin again at dawn of the third day. The match must end before the moon crashes into Wimbeldon.

Please someone do a shop of Majora's moon looking at court 18 :lol

I really do think that letting the set continue is bordering on farce, or, as I said, cruelty.

"You're a monkey Derek!"

There is not enough internet and/or pages to hold it all

I actually found it but you're right, it doesn't go up to 59 it stays at 9. I guess they weren't prepared for double digits, dare I say triple?:lol

I hope they both tie at 100 aces and then finish the match. Soooo many unbeatable records being set in this match.

The guy who wins this match and has to walk straight into another is just going to kill himself by self-serving to the head.

I HIGHLY recommend Tennis Magazine's, The Telegraph's, and The Guardian's liveblogs.

"9.25pm: Last thoughts before I ring me a hearse. That was beyond tennis. I think it was even beyond survival, because there is a strong suggestion (soon to be confirmed by doctors) that John Isner actually expired at about the 20-20 mark, and Mahut went soon afterwards, and the remainder of the match was contested by Undead Zombies who ate the spectators during the change of ends (again, this is pending a police investigation).

Still, if you're going to watch a pair of zombies go at each other for eleventy-billion hours, far into the night, it might as well be these zombies. They were incredible, astonishing, indefatigable. They fell over frequently but they never stayed down. My hat goes off to these zombies. Possibly my head goes off to them too.

It's a crying shame that someone has to lose this match but hey-ho, that's tennis. The historic duel between John Isner and Nicolas Mahut will resume tomorrow and play out to its conclusion. Possibly. Maybe they'll just keep going into Friday and Saturday, Sunday and Monday; belting their aces and waiting for that angel to come and lead them home. As the woman in the stands might say, "Wa-ha-la-wa-ha-la-la-la!"

Thanks so much for sticking with me; for your comments and tweets and your emails too. It was very much appreciated. If you're going to liveblog a tennis match in Necropolis, it's reassuring to have someone there to hold your hand.

I'm off tomorrow, possibly lying in a ditch somewhere. But the legend that is Paolo Bandino will be here to cover the action. I'm back on Friday, by which time this contest will probably be into quadruple figures in the final set. We'll simply pick it up and take it from there."

This match is going to ruin most tennis records for years... :lol

One of the best things I've seen in a long time. I am scared to think what it would feel like to lose this match...

Very high :lol

But who knows....

While I don't think that they should place a limit on how many games can be in a set, I think they should introduce a rule whereby after a while they stop the game, let the players rest, and then pick it up again the day after. It seemed to me that Mahut and Isner just got into a routine of winning the set where they served and then losing the one after, which, while hilarious when into the 50+ sets, wasn't very interesting to watch.
