Hockey GAF

I hate the habs with a passion, it's second nature for anyone from the mega city in Toronto. But I find myself for the first time in decades pulling for the Habs. They have a really exciting team and some good stars. They lost in the finals not long ago, but the team seems different now. Hopefully I haven't cursed them, the Canadian curse needs to end, why not the Habs. Habs and Oilers for shits and giggles.

Pretty terrible state of affairs for original six fans this year. Rangers, Leafs, Hawks and Wings all out.

Playoffs start Saturday let's go boys! 😃

That fucking Corey Perry weasel is gonna aim for Hutson and Suzuki.

I almost hope for the Hanson brothers, err I mean Xhekaj brothers, to fucking keep those Tampa goons in check
Anderson, wifi and struble will keep him in line. I hope Anderson knocks his teeth out.

I'll cheer for all the Canadian teams, since the Leafs aren't in, but I'll also cheer for Buffalo, Toronto's second arena :]. That'd be incredible for them to finally win.

I feel like maybe we're from different eras of Toronto hockey :pie_open_mouth:. No hostility towards the Habs here, felt a little bit weird saying I'd cheer for the Senators, but I can do it I guess. The one team I hate forever is the Bruins lol. Fuck em.

Anyone who survived the dreaded 80's when Toronto was a laughing stock and the Habs were in 2 finals. Might have something to do with the french side of the family too ;) I took it personal and have never let it go. As I got older I softened on the Habs, hard not to like their uniform and appreciate their great history. Their young core is hard to dislike. Sens on the other hand, I can't do it either.

What a punishing physical game between the Habs & Bolts.
Tied 2-2 going in the 3rd!

Also happy to see Buffalo back in the playoffs after 15 seasons.

IMO, Habs/Bolts should be the best first round series to watch. Will flip to Bruins/Sabres game after it's over as it's good to see Sabres back in.

Oilers series are also good to watch since you never know if they'll steamroll a team scoring 6 or their own goalies get steamrolled getting pulled.

Apparently human sacrifices were occurring in Buffalo after the 4th goal last night but nobody cared so no one got arrested. The ghost of Dominik Hasek has engulfed all of WNY

Tired an heading to bed though I want to watch the Oilers game. But it's 3-2 Ducks! Oilers were up 2-0. Nurse just took a bad penalty and Ducks instantly nailed a PP goal making it 3-2.

Man, hockey truly is the GOAT sport. so fast, visceral and intense. nothing like it. hockey playoff intensity just shits on other sports man

It's the greatest sport in the world.

I remember Americans when the NHL expanded going "What are dem boys doin' runnin' around with knives in their shoes?"

Leaving soon for Flyers - Pens game 3. Pretty hyped! I leave early because if I give the girls a drop of leeway we will be late.
Must have been good game. I like where i am but i am bit jelly i wasnt born in na and had home team to cheer for

Do you have a fav team at least? If not, some good teams to follow based on fun teams to watch on TV or an internet stream, and with great home crowds:

- Montreal (legacy of history. Young and speedy. Caufield, Suzuki and other young guns)
- Carolina (balanced smooth skating team, no superstars. Loud pumped up arena)
- TB (all around good team. Kucherov)

- Edmonton (lots of scoring and sometimes shaky goaltending makes the games unpredictable. McDavid and Draisaitl)
- Colorado (ultimate skill and speed scoring, Big Mac and Makar)
- Vegas (overall good team and fun Vegas theme to the games)
- Dallas (rock solid team and possibly loudest fans, lots of green jerseys)
- Calgary (not a good team at all, but got hustle and great atmosphere with sea of red jerseys)

Yeah i have watched oilers when i can since 2018

That was pretty great. The fans were going nuts especially from the second period onwards. My youngest had problems with things being too loud, should have bought headphones for her. Briefly looked into game 4, but I fear I am priced out, my source had people lining up in droves for the game 4 seats.

There is nothing like playoff hockey.

That's awesome. Never been to a flyers game.

Been watching all the games and the number of broken sticks is ridiculous.

Those players gotta stop buying cheaper mexican sticks 😋

Oilers/Ducks. Best series to watch so far. 3-3 right now. 1 period to go.

A reckless series with two teams run and gunning. Both goalies at the mercy of lots of good shots on net.

Edit: Now 5-3 Ducks. Highest scoring series by a mile. There's actually hitting. But not translating to good defence.

LOL. Composite sticks are shit and oddly cost a lot. But great way for repeat sales. Nobody I knew (including myself) ever had a wooden fiberglass or aluminum stick break back in the day. And they were cheap and even roughed up playing on the street.

That Montreal crowd disappointed me.
We used to be the most knowledgeable in the League.

A couple of players stumbled and fell on their own & they all chant "REFS SUCK!"
disappointed the wire GIF

For those of you who arent hockey fans and want to check out playoff games, I'd say this year the best series to watch in order

Clearly the best
1. Ducks/Oilers
2. Habs/TB
3. Canes/Sens

Take your pick
4. Pens/Flyers
5. Vegas/Utah
6. Buff/Bos
7. Stars/Minny

Clearly the worst series
8. Avs/Kings

How are you putting Edmonton so high? Edmonton has been awful. Connor hasn't even shown up and totally crapped the bed in game two. Nurse continues to be strain wreck. Kappanen, Dickinson , and Savoie have been outstanding though.

The ducks have been fantastic though. Just fantastic coaching there.

Canes and sens has been great regardless of the possible sweep. Good intensity.

I loved game 1 of the Boston Buffalo series. Was awesome. I haven't seen more of it sadly. How's it been?

Ducks/OIlers best IMO as I got no stake in either team. Games have been fast paced, tons of scoring, lots of hits, and wild back and forth momentum. I dont follow Ducks, but amazed how fast and skilled their top players are zipping around.

Buff/Bos game one was wild with the comeback. Watching other games were a snore when I'd flip around channels. Either Buff guys tanking or Boston playing great because Buffalo looks nothing like their reg season scoring and dominating. Surprised Buff up 2-1.

It's too bad Sens/Canes 3-0 because the series seems so much closer to that. I would never guessed the series would be so low scoring.
