HOLY CRAP!!!! Rob Zombie writing/directing the next Halloween sequel!

No one is silly enough to try and make something better than the original, Rob Zombie sure knew he couldn't and didn't even try. I'm sure it's something completely different and as long as it's a good Halloween movie I couldn't give two shits how it compares to the original, because it just won't. At all... but that's not really the point. People can bitch about this but we should be counting our blessings, it looks far better than ANY of the sequels that came after the original and at least it's not some webcam-in-Myers-house bullshit with Busta Rhymes. As a fan of the original it really excites me that we're getting a new fresh take of it to see with a huge crowd, and it'll be great to see Myers on the big screen again and in not some shitty sequel.

Yeah, the cut that I saw did not have the
rape
either. I don't even know what character that it happened too. I saw it on 7/10/07 so we most likely saw the same cut. Thing that was cool about our screening was that Rob Zombie was there. Although all the little Chatsworth douches kept yelling "Yeah.... White Zombie!!! Bring on the brutality!!!!" It really was the most annoying group I have ever seen a movie with. I swear the lady next to us was a recovering meth head and wouldn't sit still the ENTIRE movie. I will definitely see the movie when it comes to theaters as I am curious how the film ends up and if any of the rumored reshoots make the film any different.

Brandon it is far better than any other Halloween sequel,so you should be very happy.

Yea seems we saw the same cut lobster.

I had no doubt of that, I actually did like Halloween 2 a bit, maybe only the hospital stuff but I still found it passable. Halloween H20 was alright, IMO. But outside of that... complete ass from head to toe. The second this project was announced and that Rob would be directing, I was pretty optimistic that it would at least be better than the sequels.

I actually do have a question though.
I read a very early draft of the screenplay and one of my favorite deaths in it was described as Michael strapping Ronnie to a chair and sawing at his throat with a knife. Does Michael actually saw at it back and forth or is it just a quick throat slash?

Halloween 2 is my favorite. The majority of the movie takes place in the hospital, the deaths are much worse, and the atmosphere is a lot more eerie.

Jzero, that's pretty much why I like it too. I don't think it's anywhere near the masterwork that the original was but I felt that it was one of the few sequels that actually made an attempt to replicate at least some of the things that made the original good.

edit: didn't mean to double-post, I just got caught up in the responding, I thought I was editing the first post

Did I sound like I was bitching? Cause if I did I should clarify, I am soooooo grateful someone let someone start over as this is so much better than any of the sequels to the original. I would take this over any Busta Rhymes filled sequel any day. As a remake it is quite good and on its own its a good movie on its own. My complaints with the film on its own are that it isnt that scary, and certain moments are a bit repetitive and carry on too long.

Oh no I wasn't pointing you out or anything, you weren't a target.

That sucks. Oh well I'm sure other stuff more than makes up for it :lol

How much nudity is there exactly? Is it pretty gratuitous?

Yes some other deaths make up for it,but it's still sick.

Every young girl except Laurie shows tits and some ass. It's not really gratuitous.

I can definitely see the appeal of the first one and why it's better--I just prefer the second one. The first one oozes what makes Michael Myers so creepy--unlike Freddy or Jason, he was just some ****ed-up stalker who had it in for his family. The fact that he could actually exist--that this could happen--was what made him so scary, and was what the first film was all about. The second movie kind of dropped him into the role of some mindless murdering madman.

Is it just Judith, Annie, and Lynda you see?

Pretty much. One of the things I did like about it was that it picked up exactly the moment the original left off so it was cool to see the events that followed.

Yea just Michaels older sis and Laurie's two friends.

Michaels mom shows some ass.

Well of course, Sheri can't go without parading it around a little.

Another question.
In the script I read, it didn't really clarify whether Annie died or not. Does she?

Its weird, she's like alive in the movie covered in blood topless and breathing/yelling and eventually her father finds her and they cut away and never go back to her.I have no clue if she dies, you would think so after what Michael does to her.

I'll go back and watch it again later today and see if I missed something.

What exactly does he do to her :lol

She was f-ing some guy so thats why she's topless. He just stabs her over and over in the back and slices at her,throws/drags her around like a rag doll and eventually we have bloody titties. Her BF dies first, not a great death, but what Michael does with the body is great

No problem with the questions and yea the camera shakes a ton,it's Bourne Halloween. It does help in making things feel more brutal.

About how long and good is the final chase sequence at the end? I've heard good things, and also, is there a part involving an empty pool?

Oh, how long overall is the film?

I'm done with the questions, thanks a lot for the replies.

The chase scene is pretty damn good, didnt time it,but it was a nice solid time.
Michael is like f-ing Superman slamming thru walls

yea there is a pool part

edit- it doesnt run too long,im kinda out of it,run time is 1 hour 43 mins.

edited my post,I just checked my mp4 version of it,run time is 1 hour 43 mins.

No problem :)

I can't watch the second one without laughing out loud. The acting is so B grade, like this was the one with no budget and not the first, especially what Pleasance did with Loomis, he's so over the top (he spends 80% of the movie yelling.) The effects and stunts are so cheap, like the recreation of the end of the first flick where you can see Michael walking backwards up a plank and over the railing instead of them rigging the railing to crash. The rubber doll that the cop crashes into also sets up a whole other scene of comedy, "IS IT HIM?!?!"

The kills are so uneven because they tried to make it more violent after most of the production was already finished due to pressure to keep up with the likes of Friday the 13th. But, mostly I hate the second one for the whole Laurie is suddenly Michael's sister story line....that, and that horrible wig they put on Jamie Lee's head. Even the Halloween theme was altered in this one and it just doesn't sound right.

Bumping this so that none of you miss the trailer. I think I posted this at the wrong time, it got buried pretty quick. Giving it another chance.

Rob Zombie's Radio Interview on HALLOWEEN

PART 1

PART 2

This guy is tailored for the job! He actually gets it. Blood and gore don't necessarily make a scary movie but the uncomfortable situations in which the violence is used can. Hooray!

oh wow, i just saw the trailer of halloween when i watch superbad tonight
it looks badass, even i'm not a big fan of horror movie, this movie interested me

That would be interesting if she had some boobies.

I seen her naked in house of 1000 and it wasnt bad, shes hot and all but theres nothing going on up top.

This movie looks sick though. I really enjoyed his other movies so I hope this one does alright. I really dig his style of movie and music.

So? October is often filled with horror movies.

October '04 had Saw and The Grudge
October '05 had Saw II and The Fog (and Doom)
October '06 had Saw III, TCM: The Beginning and The Grudge 2.

This year has Saw IV and 30 Days of Night. Anyone really think Halloween couldn't compete with that? Anyone really think the last weekend of August is the best time for it?

Wait, they really are making a 4th saw? :(

Yup. Rob Zombie was on Howard Stern the other day and confirmed this. Sherri allegedly plays a stripper, so, hopefully she won't have much for dialouge and will simply shake her groodies.

Agreed.

An actual Halloween release date would have been better. But with the last few sets of movies that were below sub par you dont want a hot horror francise to compete with you. (Saws popularity still puzzles me)

Bad news for Halloween. A workprint has been released on the web.

Hope this doesnt affect its returns.
