You've got to be shitting me! My work mate just won an iPad (64GB 3G) last week in the UGO giveaway. Everybody is winning iPads! I want one!

i remember my friend drunkenly won a DS lite in an identical machine in a pub in sheffield once. of course they're rigged, but you do sometimes win stuff!
 
I won a PS3 with Motorstorm at a Six Flags once. I still use it. The feeling of winning something like this is always a great feeling. Many congrats to you.
 
As someone that has pumped endless amount of money into one of those machines, I hate you OP.

i remember i played that kind of machine in San Diego a couple years ago, i was so close to winning a pink ds lite, one cube away!!!!!!!!!! :lol :lol


i saw some kids win a PS3 at the beach one time, they went ape shit and starting running all over the place :lol

I was at this place called Gattitown with my kids. Its kind of like Chucky Cheese except they have better games.

One particular game is called Stacker. Its pictured behind me. Its a reflex game where you have to build stacks of blocks to the top. You have to line the blocks up perfectly with the layer below it. The lines of blocks get faster as you move up. I made it all the way to the top and won the big prize which was a choice of $500 game card for the games at Gattitown, a $500 Gucci purse, a 16GB wifi iPad, or a Wii bundle with a ton of games.

It definitely is not rigger... As you see above my friend won an iPad yesterday playing it.

Also one of my other friends won an Xbox 360 (I think?) a couple years ago. It cost him roughly $20.00 but he did win it.

I am kind of motivated to try it now... I just want to find a machine that pays out $500.00 prizes like the one pictured above... There is one in the Airport that I fly out of all the time, but the prizes are $200.00 Max.
 
I saw a guy win a 360 out of one of these, picked it over the iPad. I questioned his logic, considering the price difference between the two. He told me he could trade the 360 in at gamestop...

What a dummy. :lol

these machines only give out prizes every X number of plays set by the arcade (i believe by default its around 300 plays). It doesn't matter if you actually stack all the way at the top. Unless you are game nX, you'll "slip" and not win.

Congrats on the win tho :D

Srsly though, you are a fool to think that these things aren't rigged. What gives them incentive to load that thing up with $200+ prizes without it being profitable? The only revenue for that machine is the number of plays. Obviously they will only pay out after they have at LEAST covered the costs of the prize.
 
As many have said, the game is rigged to protect the operator of the machine from getting cleaned out by people with inhuman reflexes.

It IS theoretically possible to win twice in a row (it'd be illegal if it wasn't), but there's something like a 99.5% chance that it will kill you regardless on the game after it has just paid out, and that % slowly decreases as more money is pumped into the machine.
