Holy shit, Pix The Cat!!! (PS4, PSV)

17 bucks? Not too bad, will put it on my list of PS4 games to get once I get the system, looks up my alley.

It's $17? Damn. I love PS+. Lol. =D

Yeah I played 4 rounds of this and I love it. It's hilarious and I shout "YEAAAHH!!!" when your cat flies off the screen when time is up.
Lol. (I know I'm weird.)

Lead ALL the baby quack quacks to victory!

Will do, I had the original version on Xbox indie games. That was a fun little platformer, but this looks different, perhaps more like pac-man?

Yeah, I was using the D-pad on Vita and I needed to press it a few seconds before I need to turn.

I guess I'll just have to get used to it.

I haven't played it yet, but 'a few seconds' seems like you might be overestimating? Many games like this do want/allow you to 'queue' your next turn before you get there because it's a nice feature.

Looks like the same cat from PIXEL!, which was a great PS3 game.

Yeah a few seconds was an overstatement. It feels less like a queue and more like just a delay between the button being pressed and an action on screen. I get what you mean though.

Yeah the game on XBLIG was completely a different game. Not even a matter of different versions.
The XBLIG game was also from a different developer (Arkedo), who lent the character out to Pastagames for this (and for Pix 'n Love Rush, which is on iOS and PS Mini).

It... It looks like Forget-Me-Not (one of the best new arcade style games ever made) by our own Nyarlu.

Is it by the same Dev?

Nah it's by Pastagames.
Love it! The going in and out of levels within levels thing is genius :D

Re: unresponsive controls.. speaking as someone also currently making a vita game with pac-man-like mazes and movement, i think it's the smooth-but-grid-based movement which can cause the illusion of unresponsiveness. when your player can only change direction at the centre of a grid square, and especially when they move fast, it's practically impossible to make it feel responsive in the same way as a non-grid-based game would.. when you press a direction on the dpad, your sprite will often not be able to turn in that direction immediately (and if you press dpad slightly too late, you won't turn til you reach the next grid square).. and this effect is exacerbated in wide open spaces like pix (and forget-me-not) has! nowhere near as noticeable when most of the level is narrow corridors like in pac-man. so yeah the player just has to get used to that feel...constantly thinking ahead and 'queueing up' their dpad presses.

I kind of dove right into this game without really knowing wtf. Just a question: How do you extend your time?

I loved Pacan dxoxo though I think this is dull.

Lol what the hell? That game sounds awesome. =p

But yeah I guess it depends. I really like it. I like silly concepts like this. Cat leading baby ducks around a maze and sending them home. lol.

Yeah, this game is damn addicting.

My highscore for starter track is 798k. Not sure how to beat it.

I think they key is grinding. When you grind around corners, I think you get a slight speed boost. Game has an awesome ghost feature, and by the end, I beat my ghost by probably a good 20 seconds.

Wow, the challenge to get 1,000,000 points on the starter level set is crazy... you have to corner boost at every opportunity and run every level pretty damn close to frame-perfect. I'm still a couple of seconds short (there's one room in particular that I'm not too happy with), put up around 950,000 (just missing 4 skulls in the next room that would bring you to 990,000 and change) -- no one's done it yet. :x

Frame rate seems low on Vita, like 30 or something. I don't really mind 30 in 3D games, but it kind of feels wrong in 2D, IMO.

The puzzle mode is really fun and the UI is smart as it shows you your previous moves in the lower right corner.

Holy shit haha I was on my phone no idea how that came out.

Neat, a spin-off of Arkedo Pixel! from XBLIG. Like a weird blender treatment of Pac-Man meets Flicky meets Serpentine meets Growing Pains. Nice.

I am loving this game. Hadn't heard of it until this week. Turns out to be one of the best arcade games i've played in years. It's a dying genre it seems. So cool how you have to really plan in some stages then they throw you a breather. I am loving the soundtrack also. First real surprise out of nowhere game for me this year.

This game is begging for an arcade stick input. Pity my TE1 doesn't work on PS4/Vita :( So fun.. but my eyes........

This is SO much better than Pacman

I don't really care for Pacman's lack of space... I just don't get the appeal or maybe don't understand it.

But I love how I can move a lot more in this game. I also really love the concept of picking up eggs and placing them. Gives some levels some clever thought before executing your actions

Then there is the fact that if you drop an egg before picking them all up, you crack the rest of them. Really smart concepts, really fun, and just so much more enjoyable for me than Pacman.

It's like Snake x Pacman x Fatality Combos

Loving the ghost mode too, curious as to how the other modes play like.

But dear god, I am RAGING SO HARD!!

It's the same issue in pacman, but it's even a bigger deal here because I enjoy it so much:

I am either just too slow with the dpad (which is most likely the case), or my inputs just aren't registering... Obviously it's the former, but it's like I can't improve and make stupid mistakes or dont hit the pad fast enough (or at all it feels like) and I run into a wall or make a wrong turn costing me everything.

It's so infuriating, I feel like I need a joystick or something.

I am loving it a lot though. Voiceovers are awesome, and the presentation isn't anywhere near Pacman, but it's good. Any tips?? I love that it's the same set of levels, meaning I can improve and make this down to instinct and reflex if I practice hard enough, but I'm even fucking up the rooms where there is a grid of 30 eggs and am accidentally going the wrong way, fucking up the whole act of picking up eggs.

Oh my goooodness. Did anyone see the screenshots for Nostalgia mode? Is that the one with the
Mickey Mouse cartoon style
? It's so good :O

Yo, everyone has to compete for high scores

POST YOUR HIGH SCORES

Man I got so close to getting the 750k on the Main grid. =(

This game is more difficult than I thought lol. Either you know the levels in and out or don't get too greedy with your ducks or you lose them all and break your combo. So crazy. Game is fun to play with headphones on though.

Wow. The "holy shit" is real.

Just downloaded it and it's actually really cool. Love the aesthetics.

Edit: Oh, welp. So this is from the guys that made Rayman Jungle Run and Maestro!. That explains it all.

Thanks PS Plus!
