Holy shit, Pix The Cat!!! (PS4, PSV)

I made a video of my million-point run if you want to see where you're different. I think the big, big one for saving time is screen 9. I was hovering around 950k before I changed my route. I'm pretty sure I've got the absolute perfect route through that screen now so as far as I'm concerned, if you're not doing exactly what I did, you're losing time!

It's fucking hard to pull off in fever time though. You'll get there and screw up a lot.

Thanks, gave me some tips for tonight! I'm stuck in the upper 800k's so think a few of the routes i've just seen (struggled in 5 and 9 with messy routes) will help me push on at least a bit!

Haven't got far into the game yet but so far the presentation is utterly perfect; so bouncy and happy, dedicated to giving you a good time. I admire developers who make game-ass-games like this because it's the hardest thing to refine into something brilliant while still innovating and feeling fresh.

Absolutely this!

So far I'm not a fan of Arcade Mode because you have to play the same boring screens at the beginning over and over, but I had some fun with the Nostalgia and Lab modes.

I haven't really experienced any lag, when I miss a turn it always feels like my own doing. So you guys probably just have TVs with high input lag. I have a Sony Bravia with among the lowest input lag you can get on an LCD TV.

That room 9 path is crazy, only difference from my run. In the other hand I take more risk in room 11.
Any one has unlock the dev ghost yet ? I'm curious about their best :) Also I wonder if there's a finite number of room per stage (well probably, but how much did the devs prepared ?!)

Truly amazing game. Game just assaults your brain with colors and movement and sucks you in with its brilliant level transitions.

Then you want to keep trying to go further and further and put together an even more amazing run.

Well done game. Surprise of the year so far

Samsung LED here, no lag for me ( i just saw this was a topic )

REALLY hope the word spreads and this game does well for the developer. Kudos to Sony for handing them the cash for the PS+ version to get the word out for em. Brilliant game. They deserve profits.

This game definately turned out to be a surprise addition for PS+ .. having great fun with it (even though I really suck). I dont really have the reflexes to make those quick turns in the later floors so I can't see myself progressing further .... those 1m gates seem way out of my league

That "tips and tricks" video was pretty helpful. I knew about wall boosts, but I didn't realize you can get the same boost grinding off of your tail, thus getting speedboosts in the more open areas.

Guys, I think this is a 7/10 game since there's not much open world into it like its competitors

/s I'M LOVING THE GAME!!!

Quick question though, is it normal the game doesn't take the full screen on ps4 ? There's black border all around and I can't seem to find an option to change display ratio (ps menu takes full screen). Not a big problem but it seems weird.

Did you by any chance buy FIFA 15 and reduce the screen area size in the PS4 dash settings to fix the overscan bug in that game ? If so, it causes this game to run in a box...changing back to normal fixes it for this game

I wish EA would get their act together and fix it for their game....I shouldnt have to keep changing it before I launch a game

Didn't click on this thread till today, but goddamn this looks awesome. I played the arkedpo game on xbox 360 back in the day, so it looked familiar but I couldn't put my finger on why exactly.

Trippy arcade style games are one of my favorite type of games, so I am really tempted to buy this. I'm trying to stop buying every game I want though, especially with so many games coming out in the next few months

I've just now had the chance to download the game and try it out (on Vita for now) - and I have to say that I'm really rather impressed. It's pretty much Snake - so brings back some distant Nokia memories - but on steroids! I can see how this could get addictive, though I'm not generally a highscore-chaser.

Eh there's a bug like that on FIFA ? That's scary. No it was the default size and I didn't changed it because I thought it was for notification or something. That's messed up on EA part.

I understand it. You have to know what your next move is. It's like you have to plan ahead. I like it

That 1mil point video posted earlier was just nuts. I dont think I could ever pull off precision moves like he did...whether its the fault of the game or just me, I can't really tell yet lol

This game is a lot of fun! And extremely addicting, I can't put my vita down. Currently at 1,429,350 on the main arcade, hoping I'll be able to get that 2,000,000 trophy soon.

Currently #1 on the daily challenge with 1,170,800, but it's very early and I keep making a couple key mistakes, so I don't expect that to last.

You guys were right. This game is really something else, to me this is Pac-Man Championship Edition DX all over again. Holy shit indeed. Thank you PS+.

After trying so much yesterday I finally managed to get 1.3M in main grid and unlock the daily challenges after 2 hours playing. Then did it on PS4 too in 2 tries which is weird because the controls on the PS4 version don't feel right and consistent.

I feel the devs made a big mistake locking the daily challenge from the start. I understand they want people to learn how to play it (when I learned I could kill skulls in frenzy mode everything changed) but Daily Challenge is the real meat of the game.

Arcade mode is all about memorization of the best route through the same areas, daily challenge is about reacting on the fly and chose a route in a split second specially in frenzy or 10x combo.

Most people will never see the daily challenge because they will never reach 1.2M in main grid/they don't even know it exists. At least show some blocked screen on the main menu with Daily Challenge and when someone selected it have a message "To unlock score 1.2M in main grid". Such a shame because what will happen is that unlike Spelunky the leaderboards will become empty very quickly.

That would be true if Daily Challenge was a one time deal, but you can replay it as many times as you want so it's exactly as much about memorisation as the normal Arcade map is.

Started playing this last night, and it is rather marvellous isn't it? The levels get quite complex quite quickly, and trying to quickly work out the best way through the level breaks my brain. Great game though, lovely style and charm to it. So completely perfect for the Vita too.

I never had an issue with DX on the same TV. I came in here to post that something feels strange about the movement in this game. However, I am not sure it's input lag... I actually think it's the character animation and graphic. Makes it hard for me to judge corners.

Incredible looking game, but it hasn't quite hit home with me.

There's a lot of trial and error when you move into a new room at fever pace, and added to the spongy-ness of the PS4's dpad you're going to make a lot of mistakes. The problem is that the first 2 minutes of the board are typically the same thing every time with very little difficulty, so it gets boring very, very quickly. On top of that there's not a whole lot to the gameplay - it's the old snake game from mobile gone turbo.

I'm not really seeing what others are, but I'll keep playing until I've tried all the different modes.

Like I said, though, the visuals and 'inception' nature of the levels are top-class.

Finished the Laboratory Mode yesterday. So different and yet so good.

I think Nostalgia and Laboratory are better than the Arcade mode.

Finally downloaded on my Vita yesterday and holy shit, indeed!
Only downside for me is loading time, since it takes ages going from main menu to actually starting playing levels, but this game is like Nibbler meets PacMan meets LSD and man is it addicting!

It is? I thought only the 1st try counted for the leaderboards because yesterday I kept trying to improve my score (and did several times) and in the "World leaderboard" it kept showing my first try score.

If that is the case then it definitely loses all of that charm about reaction and not memorisation.

Looking at the leaderboards and some poor sap got over 1.97m and just missed out on that elusive 2m target.

I'm just under 1.5m, seems like you have to maintain fever mode until you get to the room with a big row of skulls to get the 2m, unfortunately it's preceded by rooms full of those spiky bastards that I think will prove to much for me seeing as I've suffered multiple combo breakers every time I've got that far.

Edit: I got 1.7m! I picked a good week to be ill as I've spent far too long on this.

The highest score counts towards both the leaderboards as well as trophies if people are gunning for the top ten trophy. The leaderboards themselves take a few minutes to update if you've already recorded a score on the daily.

Yeah, the leaderboards in this are pathetically slow. If you go back ten minutes later it will have updated with your high score.

(The Daily mode definitely should have been a one-shot only type deal though.)
