Is there a general SCEE beta program with registered beta testers, then? That would make more sense, but I think many of us were not aware of that..

And I guess the chances of getting into the Home beta are pretty slim if you're not in that program too..

..so what was homebetatrial.com for again? :p

Yes Gofreak,there is a general SCEE beta program..But it is in stand-by mode ATM.

There aren't exactly a lot of beta trial members I don't think, only a handful seem to post on the EU Playstation community forums anyway. I imagine they're being given a heads up and probably a guaranteed place in the beta, but I doubt they'll be the only ones invited from Europe.

I don't doubt you are a beta tester, but that image looks incredibly fake. I mean, why wouldn't they photoshop the dirt off the desk? Or match the fonts for the tagline and "Home"?


In fact, why would they post a promo image at all? It's not like you need marketing for Beta trials...

Hadn't checked it in a bit ... so it was frozen.

I'm sure we will, but given up to Wednesday last week I was working on the team and blissfully unaware that any marketing materials existed, you might understand why I am skeptical of this "effort".

This was the mail I received. No image attachment;

I thought it was written somewhere that Home would have a series of betas that increase in size until the system launches.

We know there's been an internal beta since before GDC. Now, there's a small beta open to (presumably) the press, developers, and GAP members. Probably the Trial website will be used for an open beta around July-August.

The trial website explicitly says "exclusive closed Beta Trial of Home™," we don't know yet if Europe will get the same signup procedure as America did.

no dice here either, kinda dissapointed. nothing i'm going to lose sleep over but still, would've been nice to try out. i'll remember this sony, mark my words.

I'm as interested in seeing Home as everybody else, but are you really missing much not to be in a closed beta? It's probably like running around the public areas of Guild Wars with precious little to actually do.

wow sorry. I am glad i check gaf everyday or else i would not known of the GoW PSP demo offer or that i received an invite to apply to beta test HOME.

One of those banned sites, having spoken to Sony, is reporting that they hope to start the beta in 'early May', but a specific date has yet to be confirmed. Further, some more information may be released later today (hopefully including the situation for Euros). Although they also note that the first round of invites will be very limited indeed..

Thanks for the update, even if it isn't definitive.

Early may is not bad (could be next week), but now that i got this email, i'll be pretty pissed if i'm not accepted :)

Phew. I was wondering if that was why I hadn't received my confirmation yet. I guess there's still a chance of being selected.
