Home Free is coming to PS4

Hi, I’m Kevin Cancienne, and I’m working on a game called Home Free, about the life of a dog lost in a randomly generated city. You play as that dog. You’ll need to find food, a safe place to sleep, and friends, both human and canine. Eventually, hopefully, you’ll find home.

I’m currently crowdfunding Home Free over on Kickstarter, and today I’m very happy to announce that I’ll be bringing the game to PlayStation 4!
Home Free still has a way to go, which is why I took the game to Kickstarter. I estimate I still have about another year of work to do until it’s done. Kickstarter has helped me get the money I need to focus completely on the project and to pay some folks to help with the parts I can’t do myself. The Kickstarter is now fully funded, but there are still some fun stretch goals to reach. And if you back it now, you can reserve yourself a digital copy when it comes out on PS

This game is not PlayStation Home nor will it be free. However with that out of the way, the idea is pretty interesting.

A game where yopu play as a dog? Who would want that?

Me-give it to me now ;_;

i don't know if my heart can handle that description

trailer looks great, procedural generation is lame but at least it sounds more action-rpg than roguelike

promising to be sure, hopefully it delivers

No big surprise, pretty much every indie game with any buzz around it is coming to PS4, unless MS have paid for exclusivity on it.

Game looks interesting.

Was actually considering getting this for Mac when I first saw it. So glad it's coming to PS4 as it'll be easier for me. Man, there's a lot of games next year that aren't heavy shooting: this, Rime, NMS, last guardian, witness ...

Sweet!!! Not going to kickstart (I have only kickstarted once a game that was supposed to come out this year and from what I can tell dropped off the map. Doesnt' even seem they are updating their site that much anymore). But if it comes out on PS4 and is not too expensive I could totally see buying this.

I just wish we could also pick to play a cat.

Really wish they would start bringing games to Xbox One...getting kind of ridiculous.
I have a PS4

Unfortunately a legacy of Microsoft's horrible indie policy when the xbone was released and Sony's embracing of indies at the time (think of that PS4 unveiling). The current install base also doesn't favor Xbox either.

Now that things have been getting better with MS though, I'm sure more titles will make it to the console eventually. And hopefully that parity clause will die.

The game sounds interesting though. Will definitely check out the Kickstarter.

Yes!! When I first saw the kickstarter thread here before I linked it to Gio and Adam hoping it would come to PS4! Thanks, so excited for this!

How is he affording it? It's not a Stretch Goal that was met. Original budget wasn't planned with the PS4 version. Is Sony funding the port? Does he mean to work and finance the port's costs after the release of the PC version?

Legacy? The policy is unchanged.

Legacy? The policy is unchanged.

Well, I mean more so in the sense that they were actually pushing indies away at that point. From pretty much every dev interview that's out there, it seems that MS had no policies in place and didn't really give a shit about anything other than AAA titles. This then kind of changed with ID@Xbox later on (arguably not enough and probably too late).

missed this thread before

i tweeted the kickstarter at shane when it first went up
